Why does Joltee collect information from where and where I'm going?

This information does not affect driving performance

The intrinsic value of JOLT derives from two sources. The first one is its functionality within the Joltee platform. The rewards delivered to the Joltee drivers will be paid in JOLT.

The second one is the value of the data collected through the Joltee platform. The anonymized data will be sold to ecosystem partners, insurers and car dealers against payments in JOLT. The importance of data regarding driving habits is extremely high for insurers, who need to better understand the underlying risk they insure clients against in order to better adjust their pricing models. If a premium is underestimated, the expected benefit on an insurance contract may be negative. This would deteriorate the financial results of the company. On the other hand, if the premium is overestimated, the client will very likely find a better price with an other insurance company, which may deteriorate both the turnover and the financial result of the company. Over time, the quantity of data collected through the Joltee platform will increase. Thus, the statistics derived from the database regarding driving habits will become more and more reliable, and their value for insurers will increase. This would imply an increase of the value of the JOLT token.
