I'm just curious about what people think about their main purposes to play gambling. Usually, we only know that people play gambling because they expect to be rich (earn money). Are there any other common purposes of a gambler why he/she plays gambling daily? Let me know what your purposes are, mate. Thanks

My memory tells me that I have already answered a number of similar questions in the early past.

There are different purposes of gambling depending on the gambler. Personally, I am after the fun and the prize but I am not expecting much to win. But it also depends on the gambling that is involved. Most of the time I am expecting to win in sports betting but not on other luck games.

That is the wrong thinking. Knowing that you could get rich in gambling and starting to do something about it could lead you to addiction that shouldn’t be the case whenever or whoever you are because when you started thinking that you could get rich, you might do something that you would regret when you lose in the casino. Like using your savings, putting every money that you have to get that financial break that you want, but it’s all about luck.

If I were to gamble daily, I would be taking it for a hobby and not I am taking it seriously. I don’t want to get addicted.

i think two of the choices fits me,it is a Routine whenever i am stressful that i seek from playing gamble.

second is having Fun and Enjoyment because i really don't focus in winning because i am a man that hates failure so it is better not to expect so fail wont take place.

I am very curious to know the names of individuals who became rich after gambling and are still rich. It would be awesome if someone can create a list of these rich gamblers.

I personally have not heard about anyone getting rich. I have heard a lot of stories and also read it on how gambling destroyed an individual and his family.

Though this question has been asked millions of time, I am still going ahead and replying. Purpose of Gambling is sheer entertainment and not becoming rich. It is the uncertainty that attracts me.

I've voted for "Have fun and spend spare time".

Of course I wanted to earn, however, when I frequent a casino, I just wanted to enjoy and pass the time. Sometimes it is also like an ice breaker for me or stress reliever, going out with friends, drink on the casino floor, watch live performance and then just play money that I can afford to lose.

I do it for the enjoyment, I like a challenging game and that's what I get from my gambling. Sure making some cash of it would be nice but I'm no where near the level that it's a probable outcome over a given time. I prefer to only gamble on table games if anything, mostly poker, some roulette and I used to enjoy Blackjack quite a bit. I really don't play much besides poker anymore as I enjoy having to think through a strategy and then the "gamble" when it comes to a flip or something early still brings that excitement with it.

I personally can't bring myself to play pure games of chance anymore I just don't get a good feeling from them. Shiny lights aren't enough for me, despite coming from a family of slots players lol. Best story was mom gave me a 20$ to play the slots with on my 18th - I put it in cashed out at 22.50$ then went and bought some drinks.

That's a wrong take on gambling! If someone is gambling online to become rich, God bless him! It's just an entertainment for adults, at least according to me! Kids go to amusement parks, teens go to Football/Cricket/Baseball matches and Adults gamble! That's what the purpose of online gambling because it's available from the comfort of your home! You sit in front of a computer with a bottle of nice beer and relax. Some people watch movies and some gamble! It's simple as that!

It's not that people don't earn money in gambling, they definitely do! But if you look at gambling as a source of making money which can take care of your daily expenses, then it's a wrong way of looking at it!

well more words released than do,many wont admit that they are playing gamble to win and winning is part of wanting to become rich or richer.

so basically many will say they are playing for fun but the truth is it is not.maybe better to saying that we are playing to have fun but also wanted to get rich.

Well, I don't have any other reason aside from making a profit. Getting rich? that came in my mind but that's not my focus. As long as I made a good amount that can sustain my needs. I don't care much about getting rich in gambling because even winning or reaching daily quota is quite hard to do. That's why I don't think too much about it. Hobby? not really, more likely i'm just trying to get my daily qouta. Fun? definitely not, i'll just play online games instead, that's more fun and not so stressful or can overcome the mood in a bit.

i think targeting to become rich is not appropriate to ask instead it is  good to ask "Purposes to play gambling,except to win' so its bald and neutral .

for me?i am for slight wins everytime i played,i dont want to deny the reality because it is,but at least i am contented to win smaller than demand for more.i usually play with friends or cousins and enjoy the game while concentrating to at least win half of my capital in which normally 100$ below.

To be stress free I would go with to enjoy the spare time and have fun while gambling and get entertained as well. If happen to become rich or make some money while enjoying the gambling then it is all good things and if make some losses then too do not have to worry because I consider it is the fees being paid for the entertainment.

Playing gambling to get money is the only goal and there is no other purpose. I am entertaining myself by playing gambling only when I don't use real money or only use fake money in casino games like Slots and Roulette. Obviously I was not risking money just for fun.

well i have changed from addicted to a normal gambler so for me?i voted for Fun and not anything.

Sometimes I need that adrenaline,so I wanted to gamble until I exhaust my money or I feel I got enough of adrenaline rush for that day.Making money was never my intention to my gambling because I know I am not that much lucky person.

Isn't having fun and playing it as a hobby the same? I mean, hobbies are supposed to bring you fun right? Anw, Yea I picked having fun. I mean, It involves money, yes, but if you actually think of it that way then your pretty much ruining the fun in it. Yes, when you win it's exciting and quite satisfying, BUT that's pretty much a side reward so to speak. Kind of like an additional.

Sides, if you enter a casino to earn money, you're actually just saying "Yep, I'm gonna lose everything I have today in here." Kinda feeling. The rage and such are quite tilting, yes I know, but it's part of the fun ya know? Looking back to those things makes me think of the rage itself, which is funny, not the reason why I raged.

I'd suggest everyone who want to create a topic to use the search feature  first, this board is full of the same discussion but on different threads.
If you want to create a thread please find a new topic first, repeting discussion from other thread again and again is not good at all.

I'm sure most people play gambling because they hope to get money from it by trying the luck they will get when they are in the game. some of them play gambling just for fun because he believes that being constantly involved in gambling can have an adverse effect on his life
