Purposes to play gambling, except being rich

I'm just curious about what people think about their main purposes to play gambling. Usually, we only know that people play gambling because they expect to be rich (earn money). That may be a massive goal to reach for many people and I don’t think many play to become rich.I play to earn some extra money to buy some new gear or to have some spare money to spend for example in these days that we have just started the holidays.The people who gamble to become rich are the ones who risk more than any other to become addicted in a short amount of time.

Each person will have a different view of gambling because through gambling it is very easy for a few people to become rich but for most of the people will become poor. I have personally experienced because I have lost more money in it, it is not easy to become rich through gambling. Myself now I am going to gamble for fun.

you mean you need to hear uncommon reason on why we play gambling  ?  the  three option on your poll was common  but the only one that i think uncomon is playing gambling because you want to become an expert or you just want to become good at it  . that will also be my choose  because i cant seem to get rich and i seem not to enjoy it  but atleast in the long time of playing it i can learn a new strategy that i can adopt in the long run  . i feel good when i master those strategy because i have never done this thing before    .

I am choosing "Have fun and spend spare time" because that is my reason right now in gambling. I don't think that I can be rich from gambling, so I need to change the reason I am playing gambling. Maybe some people have another reason besides of my reason, and some of them are using gambling to make money. Some of them are playing gambling every day because they expect to make money from gambling.

The only purpose is to earn money that is the notion when they first enter a casino. However much they try to cover it up by saying that they are gambling for fun, it is not so. They may go out with friends because they want to have some fun but in reality they are out there to make money.

Note that many hackers also gamble to "test" the site and locate vulnerabilities. For them it has a purpose, either black hat or white hat. But that is all.

Remember that many gamblers are not addicts, they dont play everyday, rather play when they have some cash to burn and they dont want to keep that money in the bank.

I guess most people gamble to be lucky. There are professionals "gamblers" too... i think most of them gamble to win. There are probably those who are into skill-based gambling to learn and hope to be lucky.    I would not advise anyone to gamble for fun especially with luck-based gambling.
I personally would gamble to be lucky, learn or to win a contest I am skilled in.

To kill time? I don't know if this is a solid reason but it definitely can be one though. Gambling is some sort of game as well, thus, we can find an entertainment in their, to kill time or whatsoever. In addition, sometimes people wanna risk something for an ambition to obtain a certain stuff, could be a decent tv or anything else besides to just being wealthy.

I think majority people will expect to get extra money when they decide to gambling and i personally would not deny one of my main reason to gamble because i want earn money from it but the difference is i was try to pushing myself to enjoyed every games i played and always be consider if i wasn't win then it not more than i have no luck while gambling

Not really. I'm sure most people don't gamble to be rich. Where did you learn that people gamble to earn money?

The most common purpose is just to have fun, killing some spare time and money. Some other gamble because they are addicted. Most people don't gamble daily unless they are addicted. Now, this is dangerous and should not be categorized the same as people who's having fun.

Gambling should really be treated as an entertainment or for fun but people or majority goes overboard on how it should be and in result?
They do experience consequences that they havent meet before.If we do try to look on poll results which all people choose up for "fun"
but i dont really believe on that and for sure there were even addicted ones just trying to hide up their true perception towards
their gambling activity.

i think two of the choices fits me,it is a Routine whenever i am stressful that i seek from playing gamble.

second is having Fun and Enjoyment because i really don't focus in winning because i am a man that hates failure so it is better not to expect so fail wont take place.

I also only play when I'm stress or to kill time especially when I'm on the road that I need to wait for traffic. If Im done with bounty and trading. Or the road is too bumpy and trading and bounty is not applicable. I play online card gambling to not be irritated in traffic and to replace my focus in gambling playing which also offers fun and entertainment to me.

Not a realistic prospect for most, its just a game.   I reckon there are far less dreamers in gamble games then the typical lotto draw.  Gamble to riches is far less distant an objective then just winning that particular day but I dont think many gamblers imagine its a path to riches.
   Seems like everyone plays similarly just for the game itself, those who voted anyway.

Playing gambling to get money is the only goal and there is no other purpose.

I dont find that a realistic prospect for any activity at all in life.    Its like the Kind Midas fable that ultimately riches are not the primary purpose for anything really, you can do only so much to accumulate wealth.   Its the things you value that are worth far more then any winnings or kind of monetary figure placed on them, in gambling people do value the success and winning the game.

I gamble with different purposes in mind, depending on my mood and perhaps the game as well. When I play the lottery, that is not fun at all but I place a bet there just to try my luck. That is primarily for the sake of making an easy money. But when I roll the dice, I don't really have the purpose of making money. After all, I am placing very little amounts, insignificant amounts even. The purpose is simply to kill boredom or to try a new site. When I am with friends playing holdem poker, that's basically to have fun. So it all depends on the circumstances.

I gambled to while away time when I have spare time to avoid unnecessary thinking and bad feelings of the past I discovered that when gambling I remained focused and not thinking about anything else rather than playing or rolling of dice with my little coin.

As for me, gambling isn't a shortcut to get rich but rather a platform to enjoy and have fun. It has lots of risks so it will be hard if we'll take it too serious and we might lose our funds because there's no guarantee that we could gain a good profit all the time. We should know our limits when it comes to gambling.

It's so obvious that gamblers have different reasons why they played. I don't know how surveying the purpose will help us.

Like you, what's your purpose? It varies each other obviously and compiling all those reasons is just like an ordinary note we have on our notebooks.

I choose this "Be an expert/experienced gambler" and if I will achieve that success, it would not be hard for me to become rich.
To become rich is our ultimate goal because not all the time we are gambling to win money, we also need to focus on other things that could give us different kind of fun, where there is no pressure at all like gambling, so if I will be rich in gambling, I can retire early and I can enjoy my retirement since I don't have to worry about my finances anymore.

Gambling is a good shortcut to success, IF YOU ARE GOOD ON IT.

I gamble because I want to have fun, no matter if I gamble with my friends or alone. It's because of having fun and enjoy my time in gambling. Although I realize that if I lose, it's hard to feel fun because my money is gone, and that won't be very easy for me to recover the money. But so far, I think playing gambling because of wanting to search the fun thing and enjoy the time will be good for me.

I only gamble just to have fun. This is also what I usually do in my free time, so we can also call it as my hobby.
During my first time in gambling, my goal is actually to make money, but it changed after I realized that if I have that goal, I will only suffer myself in the end. Though, I am still hoping to win (who's gambler wouldn't) but more on having fun.
If I lose, then be it, at least my loss is minimal, unlike before.

Hobby I'd say? It's never the same without me gambling a bit of my funds every now and then. I guess you could say it's become part of my life? Now I ain't no expert in gambling but I could be called experienced and the like with how many hours, days, and games I've spent and played with.  Plus, there's also various side rewards if, IF I actually won. Initially, I entered gambling cause I wanted a quick buck like reallly really bad, but ever since then, I just started you know, getting it to become a part of my life, much so that the profit rewards aren't that important to me anymore.
