Don't get too hateful to the altcoins, it may just be the only you can have with so little USD you have today. I did listen to the fud during the time when ETH's price was less than $3 now that I can't have 10 of it with $1000. Today you still can buy a ton of the altcoins you wish to invest, take time to see which one you think may rise above to be more than just an altcoin.

From a trader's perspective, absolutely nothing is wrong with altcoins. They have their own season just like what bitcoin experiences on its highs and lows. The mere fact that altcoins are still worth more than hundreds of millions on their own is a testament that people are into it, albeit only for profits and not mainly innovation and development. Anyways, for as long as dev teams and altcoin providers DO NOT scam nor try to game their investors, I'm all good with it. Just look at what ETH has brought to the community with its dapps and other apps built on it, plus an honest and brilliant developer in the face of Vitalik Buterin.

If all altcoins are like ETH, then nothing really is wrong with altcoins at all.

Do you really think that everything ok with eos? EOS costs $ 24 on its ATH, but now you can buy it for $ 2. this is a price drop for 12 times. for a coin with such a large capitalization, this is a very big loss. Not putting the blames in altcoin for crypto performace these few years. I'm inclined to be a Bitcoin maximalist because most of alts are crap anyway. It's just another tool for speculation with almost no development behind it. Well, there are some alts that are actively developed like ETH but most are not.

These dropping of prices of cryptocurrencies are pretty much normal. They're supposed to drop once in a while especially in this season where people becoming expensive so, they sold some crypto for fiat. We need to face the reality that fiat is still used more often when buying gifts because that's still the norm for most communities. But it is also the best time to buy crypto that can recover the price in 2020. Determining which of them is the real issue.

Pretty vague to say that there is nothing wrong with altcoins. The truth is the vast majority of altcoins are utter garbage and shouldn't have any value whatsoever.

Most of these arose during the 2017 and early 2018 ICO boom, where people were just throwing money into the market with the expectation that any project with a viable purpose would eventually gain in value.

Now, in 2019 (almost 2020), we know better. Only the strong will survive and the vast majority of altcoins are not strong at all, hence why most are practically dead despite being born barely two years ago.

Well to some extent I will support you on this, the loss on Altcoin isn't strange because this loss is also affecting bitcoin, but that being said, to be safe, invest only on trusted Altcoins especially those with unique use case. I can't remember any time when Bitcoin raise up to 20K but altcoins fail to move up. There is no effect of altcoins in Bitcoin price, adjust opposite direction. Altcoins price fall because of Bitcoin price. ICO, IEO or STO all investment comes from Bitcoin and Ethereum, so this is the effect of Bitcoin.

Altcoins seem to be really down during the last several years, with almost no further perspective. The problem is still in BTC dominance, because it simply does not leave space for altcoins to develop and to increase in price.

The price of none of the traded assets remains constant, only the difference of cryptocurrency is that it is more volatile. When we take a look from this way, there is nothing to be understood, everything is obvious.

there is nothing wrong with that and all of them also do not have to just look at it from the perspective of price conditions that are experiencing a prolonged bearish. what needs to be analyzed is coins that do have endurance for long-term performance, these coins are always ranked at the top of coinmarketcap. and for other ranks only coins with unstable activity develop and rely on short speculation.

yes, never take a short decision or judge cryptocurrency just because of a weak market situation, isn't the price of cryptoqurrency fluctuating? so I think this is normal. although almost all altcoins lose their value, that doesn't mean they will die. This should be the OP should be doing instead of hating it. Altcoins has their own season to grow but i don't think altcoins won't grow when the bullish season of bitcoin started already. I know some altcoins who manages to get a price growth when there is a bull run. I think OP must be assuming that altcoins will have a bull run too if bitcoin have.

The time for altcoin isn't right now so it's okay if you hate altcoin for now because if you don't hate altcoin right now you will buy altcoin and you will lose your money so don't hate anymore if the altcoin season starts because if you still hate altcoin, the price altcoin will still go up

Altcoins are indeed the future as there are really good altcoin projects and new technologies which we have got only through altcoin wherein bitcoin is traditional. No I don't think tenured users will blame altcoin for Bitcoin's price drop as altcoin has nothing to do with it, in fact it's bitcoin which plays major rule based on which the value of altcoins fluctuates.

Bitcoin is at loss? Start comparing the price from the early, instead of just comparing it with the price of 2017. The price was 20k for just few days. It was around 17k for just few weeks before it started to drop. It dropped down to 3k and look at the price now. It is around 7300 USD which is a lot. Just look at the price in long term instead of look at short term price.

some crypto investors have now left altcoin and are focused on bitcoin. This is not Altcoins fault because right now we are on the bear market and bitcoin which is the reference for altcoin has also fallen dramatically. so it's only natural that the current altcoin value drops dramatically. but I am optimistic that when bitcoin can return to the price of $ 20,000 after halving the altcoin market will also pump up and turn green again. and I'm still optimistic that top altcoins like ethereum, EOS and LTC will pump high when bitcoin bull run. Indeed nothing is wrong with altcoins, the only problem i see is that over the years appear scam coins and also this contribute to price fall and also problem with some exchanges that was hacked, but now indeed many people focus on bitcoin, we all hope for a 2020 year much better for crypto.
