General and regular problem is a lack of profit or nonexistence of it and huge boost in loses. During investing you mean bitcoin yeah? And in bitcoin at the moment I would call investor to those people who create bitcoin related business like bitpay, bitfury and similar ones, I wouldn't call an investor to a person who just bought 0.001 bitcoin or collected that via faucet. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies carry high risk if you mean holding or on another hand - hodling. But high risk = high reward/loss.
Problem for traders is that they can't safely store their bitcoin on exchanges, at first: 1. not your wallet - not your bitcoins and 2. exchanges are hacked pretty often.

-If people are hodling funds, basically and obviously, stored and keep it on a wallet on your "OWN". Security now lies within your hands. Do research if people are not that familiar with security recommendations.
-If people are trading, a good and common practice is to just deal in a reputable exchange. Not an assurance that our funds will be safe there but at least we are minimizing the risks of being sh*t by other exchange.

Scammers and Hackers
-they are always there and already a part of the system. Instead of hoping that someday they will be gone, as it was impossible, learn to avoid them. Learn to be vigilant as always in the world of crypto or basically, every time you lurk at the world wide web.

The bottom line, once we put money on something, managed it properly and seriously along the way.

Trading, investing or having savings is not a joke. Always put a serious approach on this.

Most common would be Security, Scams and such. If you believe in yourself as a trader and has had the basics down since the beginning, you're basically left with the other problems out of you. Samples are when Exchanges have data leaks, you have no control over that, and can't really do anything about it. The challenge is how to survive, many people came with knowledge and fund but only few of them can survive. General issue ( mostly ) about security, nothing save but we should take care our asset from hacker. Second problem is volume, low volume will make all strategy fail. Last problem is can't control emotion, in this part most people fail. Even you have perfect strategy won't running well if the player can't control emotion. Main issues for now maybe too many tokens that come out, although some markets already strict to make that tokens listed in their site, maybe money circulation really spreaded a lot if compared with past that usually some big exchanges really have big volume trading. Beside of that, people who lose in new kind of investment like token sale, usually not get back to trading anymore.

We already saw that the price is always changed, sometimes the price is at a high price, but in the next hours, the price is down too deep, so we don't know what will happen later with the crypto market. But we can anticipate or prevent the worst situation by analyzing the market, and although we cannot get accurate analyzing, at least, we can know what we need to do if the price moves to one range of the price. Happy new year to you too, in my opinion I think the main problems comes from the exchange themselves. Issues like hacking aren't much of an avoided incident since the exchange don't have much of a control to avoid such incidents from occuring but when it comes to token/coins listing, that area the exchange has totally control on listing only quality and legitimate projects to minimize the risk associated with investing or trading cryptocurrency since scam projects are the main cause of loss in the industry.

The fake project listing issue can also be categories under the security problem you mentioned so as hack etc. If the exchanges could focus more on eliminating the problem they have control over or minimizing the rate at which such problem cause their customers to loss their funds then the experience associated with investing or trading cryptocurrency will improve and probably draw in more enthusiasts (Investors, traders).

So if you are an aspiring crypto trader, you need to observe and learn a lot before starting any trade. Greediness is the purpose why they lose money because they tend to look for more profit even their take profit target is already at reach.

In regards with traders one of the challenges is the security on which platform you are trading since we all know that the trading sites are the most common target of the hackers second thing is the adaptation of the cryptocurrency to a certain country if a the country on where you're living is non-crypto friendly then it would  be a big challenge for the investor or the trader itself to use his/her cryptocurrency due to this kind of implementation to a certain country.

What I face the most frequently has always been the sudden moves when I least expect it. I am not a person who does million things after buying a coin, if I bought it that's it, I will wait until I made some profits and leave it there meanwhile. No stop loss, no sell order, no buy order, no nothing major, just go on and buy it and just be done with it, of course that is not how it works most of the time, you have to take care of it and be there for it because suddenly it could change upside down and you will be losing ton of money because of it.

Sadly you cannot avoid the market manipulators because they're everywhere, the only thing that we could do is learn their behavior and follow their movement so we could get profits from it.

The major challenge I can pin point is the one of hacks...insecurity as a whole. Almost everyone is vulnerable to hacks because you can't be 100% safe from hack. Staying too late to a new increase usually could be the most common thing probably. I know its wrong and I have never done it myself but there are soooo many traders that see a coin go up %40 and end up buying that, why would you buy a coin when it increases? Like shouldn't you actually try to focus on buying it BEFORE it goes up and sell after it goes up? That is the whole point of trading yet people are not really understanding that logic so they are actually buying after it goes up insanely and that ends up being a bad investment obviously since the price goes down instead of keep going up after that most of the time.

Dealing with the market's volatility is one of the hardest things being encountered by most traders and investors which only needs continuous learning. Hackers will always be there no matter what and it's for us to adjust and to avoid them. We could be smart enough to get rid of them. The market itself isn't perfect and there will always be lapses but things will depend on how we handle all the risks and problems that we might be facing.

Avoiding things can be a stressful ways of managing the risk of our trading. This isn't an easy task to do while you're in the midst of the pressures, that's why learning more ample ways in controlling emotions must be practiced.

Yes, calmness and being a master on controlling your emotion will get you anywhere you want because it is one of the keys towards success specially when it comes to trading. Trading is a game where emotion is the first reason why the market goes up and goes down so when you can think out of your emotions then you have an edge over at least 90% of the traders around and you can be at the 10% successful traders.

So be careful where you will log in and look at how secure it will be.

Also, you will need to secure your computer at high standards.
It will be better if you have one more which doesn't connect to the internet.
You can avoid malwares and viruses with that way.

Smartphones specially androids don't get those but you will also need to be careful with what application you will install.

I think the security and price variability are some kind of the problems or issues. However, so far its really not that bad. Everything is going smoothly. It just need more patience and perseverance to earn and invest and trade crypto. Many have enjoyed and benefited to it so far and the problems are somehow controllable.

One of my biggest problems has always been figuring out what I should do next after a big move happens, doesn't have to be up, it could be down or it could be anything. If there is a 50% fall and I am keeping a bag in my hands, I don't know if I should sell and get rid of it and move on with my life, when there is a 50% increase I don't know if I should take the profit and start buying other stuff neither.

Those big moves always confuses me, usually there is a reversal in the end if you wait long enough but most of them end up staying low/high for a long time while other stuff keep on moving. I don't know what you guys are doing in those cases but its really a tough decision to cut ties with a coin and move on, I just want to keep them forever and thats not realistic, eventually I will have to get out.

there are many problems faced by traders, investment certainly can not be separated from the risks, every trader has a different problem, for example the absence of a complete indicator, the presence of fake volume, and many other problems, but the most common problem is risk management, mental psychology too scared or too greedy.

probably the indicator he learned while he was in forex market isn't very much useful here in crypto.  there were several exchange projects that i was hoping they can allow us to install an exchange program but there weren't any of it that did this.

i'm positive that some forex brokers will one day add BTC on their Metatrader which indicators in that program are complete for anyone to use. this is one of the issues we face to day

Like ICO scammers, there are market scammers who trap innocent investors with deceive articles in regular medias and then pump and dump in exchanges. Ripple must be one good example for those kind of scenario. This is not individual's problem but for part of community itself. Yes, they are able to misguide large number of community members through open discussion on this forum and few articles in medium kind of reputed media.

Their big weapon is their capability to move markets on their own direction. These type of people are easily becoming whales and with their plans of re-investing they keep manipulating markets and keep deceiving innocent traders and investors. Sticking with highly reputed and decentralized coins must be the only possible solution as per my experience.

Eliminating scammers entirely from the crypto space would not be an easy task. There are a lot of peoples with greedy nature and they would shift on to any extend onto with the intention to scam you. Why do scammers feel reliable scamming peoples in crypto space is because of the advantages offered by the cryptos which include "track-less" transactions which would never allow anyone to track the flow of funds.

This would actually be motivating for the scammers and eliminating scammers means we would actually need to think about making crypto transactions more transparent which would lose their original nature. Whenever it happens in me, I just think that I'm really decided to buy or sell it. When I set goal then  it was reach, BTW I only set amount that can only be reach depending on time I wanted sometimes a week, and I try not to be greedy again. I think the first and likely problem they do have is with price volatility and storage security. Someone who is starting to invest in cryptocurrency for the first time should be aware of the risks that comes with it, since the price is volatile they can lose their money at anytime. Then as for where to store their assets and how to, they really need to make sure they choose the right wallet and also know how to secure it and be careful not to leak any important information that has to do with their wallet except their wallet address if they are about to receive money from a sender.

As for hackers, it depends on how careful you are, because I know for sure that if you’re very careful they wouldn’t hack your wallet.

Volatility could be one of the biggest things we face and I agree with that. If you asked me about the "biggest" tho I would probably say finding the time to deal with it honestly. It is not an easy task to be a crypto trader, you have to actually be a full time trader to give it so much time that it needs, if you are a part time trader it is really not something you can do with such little time.

Please correct me if I am wrong, there are "investors" who are part time and there are even few "part-time day traders" going around however unless you are full-time crypto day trader, you are not giving it all you can and could miss out on many things. That is why I think giving 16 hours a day towards trading should be considered a day trader, if you are looking at it maybe one hour a day, that is not really too much trading to do unless you suddenly catch a great moment at the same time.

As for scams, they are as effective if you are going to trade or buy smth or even read the news. You will fall a victim no matter where you are, if you are someone susceptible to this type of actions. Hacks are getting better and better handled as authorities learned to work on it and exchanges gotsome experience as well. Stick to big names and your funds should be secure even in the event of exchange being hacked. There is a big risk tho, as well as profits. This is justa result of high volatility of the markets and has nothing to do with crypto only. It is the same if you are trading penny stocks or some other assets.
