If compared to 2017, of course, demand is currently reduced, given a lot of investors who have lost nearly the last 2 years, I guess. Their trust began to disappear because so many Blockchain projects were a scam. While many traders withdraw their assets because they are tired of price manipulation. But hopefully, Halving's moment will at least bring up more good news about the price of Bitcoin

Off course there are lots of events on the table in 2020. Bitcoin halving and ethereum adopting PoS into its blockchain are some of the exciting events related to cryptocurrency. What is interesting is that only bitcoin and ethereum will increase in value and will do good in the market. Nowadays people are losing their interest in almost all coins other than bitcoin, ethereum and BNB.
Yes, but in the past two days I have seen that when bitcoin and ethereum begin to increase in value, other altcoins have also begun to increase their prices on the market, and that has also happened in the past.

First, I think Bitcoin is halved. I don't know if this will cause market reaction. There is also an ETH upgrade. Will Ethereum's speed increase? I hope it does not cause congestion in transactions. Finally, I hope that cryptocurrencies can be applied to the field and bring new changes to the world.

2017 have also a bad start before it becomes bullish. It started at $900 and it is so far from today's price. If we could think that it multiplied even just x3, 2017 is gonna be surpassed by at this time. We are still at the beginning of the first quarter, it eventually changes in the next few days as halving come closer. Have to take a look this one... https://www.coindesk.com/900-20000-bitcoins-historic-2017-price-run-revisited

Personally, for me, the most anticipated implementation of the possibilities of blockchain technologies, and as TS said "next big thing in crypto" would be a decrease in the share of banks ' influence and an increasing use of blockchain in this area.
I can't agree more with that statement. This is a big thing that we are waiting for, more people to abandon sinking bank system, decreasing their share and influence, and on other side to increase the use of Blockchain in all areas. All thous this is not a big thing that will happen one day, it's a slow process that can last for years. We need to be patient and wait for that! What should we wait for? I expressed my opinion, because I see the hegemony of the banking sector in my country, more and more industries it is trying to absorb. The blockchain will be able to partially neutralize it. By the way, I did not hear your expectations, but only criticism))

Definitely, the year 2019 disappointed many investors(who were attracted in early 2018 due to surge in bitcoin price) as their investment is either in scam accounts or reduced to more than 50%. I hope this will be changed this year as the shine will again come for Bitcoin due to its halving reward event. Also, the market will be energized by Ethereums pos adaption. Apart from this good news, there may come some not so good news for crypto world. Many countries are either imposing strict regulations or thinking to ban cryptocurrencies. This is not allowing building confidence in new investors. Let's see how it goes in the near future.

The advent of Bitcoin's blockchain technology has opened up a world of possibilities that were never imagined. People can finally achieve financial freedom by being their own bank anytime, anywhere. In 2017, there was the ICO boom where crypto land was filled with hype with many companies launching their own business ventures. Everything has been about smart contracts, on-chain privacy, and Blockchain-based gaming. But ever since prices started to decline back in 2018, there has been a lost of interest into crypto and Blockchain tech from people in the mainstream world. It's now 2020, where many exciting events are yet to come. Bitcoin will experience another reduction in its block reward (halving), while Ethereum becomes closer to adopting PoS into its blockchain network. The space is definitely maturing, but the level of demand is still a lot less than it was back in 2017. Nonetheless, I'm curious to know what's the next big thing in crypto? I see at least two scenarios. The first option is the further development of blockchain technology with the same development of cryptocurrencies, but here you need to understand that states can create their own cryptocurrencies and then those cryptocurrencies that we know can disappear or go by the wayside. The second scenario of the development of events is negative, namely, the blockchain technology will continue to develop, however, already without cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies themselves will be sold to people in order to withdraw the maximum amount of cash to pay off the external debt of the United States. This is of course an unlikely outcome, but it does have a place to be.

any reaction will definitely happen before and after halving, so i believe crypto will continue to get any improvement in many of the existing transaction sectors. the belief about crypto that will give big things in the world at least will be achieved sooner or later, we just need to wait for the time

Whether this is certain with the words you want, if your information is correct it will produce something that you want later. This depends on the information you get from any source.

Aside from bitcoin halving, the next big thing in cryptocurrency that I highly believe would come true this 2020 is a massive adoption of cryptocurrency wherein it could be considered the start of the cryptocurrency age. People would certainly be curious about why many people are having profits and how they could make their transactions online even faster than ever. And more news concerning cryptocurrency would open up the world for the bright future.
One thing I am not really agreeing into, is to see the market getting higher market price while tension between nations is getting bigger. Isn't it that cryptocurrency is meant to make us united? If so, I prefer lower market price but cryptocurrency with value.

I learnt that there's underground work ongoing to launch the ethereum 2.0 project this year. The bitcoin halving is also expected to be in motion and I'm of the opinion that this events would affect the overall performance of the market. The launching of libra coin could also happen this year marking this year, possibly more promising than last year.
These have been in offing for a while since 2019. I guess they are the foreseeable biggest events(halving and ethereum 2.0) for 2020 at the moment unless something as big as Libra news pops up again. Either way, I am very positive and optimistic for this year

The crypto backed by the gov't or by the banks. The known CBDC or Central Bank Digital Currency. This is now the main thing in China lately and I think US and other powerful countries will also follow the trend for this. Once this has already been implemented in China and it's being used by most citizens, I think most of the countries that are looking into cryptocurrency will start to follow that path.
China is certainly doing very well. But unfortunately not all countries are so friendly to crypto. We can only hope that the situation will change for the better and many countries will really follow the example of China.

This is a usual reaction when we see the market back and it's probably expected by most after getting down for how long. The next big thing that OP is asking about the things that probably might come to the crypto world just like the ICOs. And it's more of the development, this caught my attention. - Mimble wimble litecoin and bitcoin
Where can we read more of this?

There are lots of things that we can expect to happen within the crypto community since it is prone or open for improvement due to the fact that every year, people do have a lot to expect from it and it is in lined with the modern technology in which as the technological capacity rises, so with cryptocurrency rises and improves primarily. There are lots of events that we can expect to happen this year 2020 that can affect the whole crypto community. Some of those includes the last year's news about the launch of Libra coin within this year which is Facebook's cryptocurrency in which we all know that it is the most popular social media platform worldwide, so upon this announcement, we will be expecting what will be the effect on the crypto community of this launch if it will attract many people toward cryptocurrency once again. Also, the upcoming event which is the Bitcoin halving is a much awaited event this year for what will be its after effect on the current situation of Bitcoin specially talking about its price if it will directly affect the price to go up which will also bring the other cryptocurrencies that rely on it to go up. For sure a lot more will happen within the vast space of crypto and it will surely continue for events to come because crypto is a rising currency which will continuously improve as technology rises.

2019 was definitely a year of disappointment for me in the crypto world because the truth is it was exceptionally harsh and for the most part nothing pickup any speed like previously however we are getting steadiness we are as yet stagnating between one point to another no much appear to be continuing until further notice Hopefully that changes in 2020

Honestly it is hard to give prediction. It is also hard to assume that this is the right time for bitcoin and eth. All we know that crypto price is always matter in all of us but always remember that we need an additional plan and option in case that it will not happen. And I know that all of us are hoping for the huge price increase in this year 2020.
Same as you I think in 2020 price of bitcoin and altcoins will get high as now a day because of New year, New hopes people bought so much bitcoin and we know the more people buy Bitcoin the more its price will rise and it will be more profitable so in think in February or March we will see bullish market, it’s just my predictions and let's see what happens. Many people who buy bitcoin when it's cheap because it is a good opportunity for them to start investing with capital that is not so big, and we know that bitcoin is a good coin and many people think that bitcoin will be able to reach its highest point again. But for me this year it might not be much different from the previous year and maybe this year there will be an increase in the price of a few coins.
