Will 2020 be ETH's biggest year yet?

Eth change to POS is a good move from this project and i think this will make their project become more popular. But base on the price, i dont think that ETH will back to its ATH because too many reasons. First, ETH team not holding the most ETH now. Second, in current market with lots of people losing from downtrend, not much people will buy ETh if the price too high. Third, lots of DApp leave Eth chain to new platform.

Your reasons are quite good, but all can happen, you see BSV with a 300% increase to a new all time high, did you previously think that BSV is a failed coin? Ethereum is better than BSV. I'm sure ATH ethereum can be achieved

Imho, Ethereum is forced to completely switch to PoS in order to increase people's hoarding and speculative demands. And that will boost its value. But as far as I know, switching to PoS completely is something that takes a lot of time to complete.

The Ethereum development team always wants everything to be safe, so it needs to take more time than usual. I guess we have to wait until 2021 to see that.

I am currently all in all the dollars I have to buy ETH at $ 160.  I believe that if ethereum 2.0 can be implemented early in 2020, it will be a great year for ETH fans.  But you know, it's all just a plan and it's just in the process, I still haven't seen Vitalik say anything about this upgrade process.  We may have to wait a long time and don't expect too much , because the team can delay at any time.

if you don't want to wait it's better to do trading because it will provide a better profit opportunity, rather than having to wait and wait then buy and hold it.
I agree with you a bit that the possibility of ethereum will be flooded by investors in 2021 not this year, there is a possibility because this year all crypto prices are being corrected whether will go bullish or will remain in bearish conditions like last year.

I doubt it will be its "biggest year yet", from 2016 to 2018 we have seen ethereum going from 10 bucks to 1500 bucks, in two years time there has been nothing in the whole world that has managed to make that much money with that much volume and liquidity before, sure there could be some pump and dump coins that made similar ones but there was no coin that made that much increase and still allowed you to sell over a billion without destroying all of the market in a single move and still able to cover it.

Basically, eth could potentially have a great year, an amazing year, an unbelievably awesome year, but lets not get out of reality and forget that eth was once 1500 dollars, even if it reaches 1500 dollars from here, that wouldn't be the biggest year of eth's life.

That $500 is somewhat accurate figure for this year, which I think more difficult since it wasn't starting to show any progress yet. As far as I observed with the latest market of btc breakdown, it was amazingly pumping and touched $8.9k. most probably it will create an influence for eth.

This remains the strongest fundamental for ETH so far. Would be nice to see how the year ends overall, that would speak for long term prospect for the number one altcoin. But so far, its price seems to be doing good and we may be heading out of the bear pit completely - at least for ETH.

ETH movement like it is increasingly creeping up and now the price has reached $ 177 maybe in 1 week ahead will reach $ 200.
As far as I know, if bitcoin is slowly moving, ETH will be the same but I want to know after approaching halving what will happen maybe a big pump will happen to Ethereum.

I doubt it.

If you look back onto 2017 data you'll quickly find out that the scale of the ETH bull run (from <0.01 BTC to over 0.1 BTC at one stage) will be unmatched. I don't think that with this current market there is as strong a demand for ETH as a speculative token as before in 2017, where markets are a lot less mature than they are right now.

But if you're coming from an fundamentals standpoint, then yes, ETH2.0 could bring about some serious improvements.

In the discussion about the ethereum's price for the year majority of the users have mentioned it to be a big maybe or no. This is the prevailing reality, because ethereum grew high and touched its ath in a very short time than bitcoin. This made people have more interest on making investment on ethereum. Further till date the growth expectation is there, but the real expectation hasn't got fulfilled. Hope this year marks the something better than 2019.

Imho next altcoin season will be biggest year to most big altcoins. But i don't know if that's happening this year. It can easily begin in this year tho.

How you know that? when bitcoin has increased and I believe it was a bull ran from $3500 to $13000 in a few days at that time but there is no altcoin which increased  a lot too. Even, the altcoin price just decreased and I just thinking that there is no altcoin season anymore. The investor will just believe that bitcoin is always being promising place to be choose for investment. As has happened recently, BSV price has increased drastically I saw on coinmarketcap its price increased for almost 100% but now, the BSV price just decreaseda loot. Don't you think the altcoin is really susceptive to be made as pump and dump scheme? Figure out of it and I guess investor will be more wary to choose them to store their money.

Chances are eth will lose the miner but gain investor that prefer POS staking. Being a validator is not too bad as you need 32eth and likely will be increase in time. There are many already signed up and secured their position as validator and somehow this will boost eth price. I'm positive that eth will be the most trend coin of the year for 2020.

i think that it can be huge for ETH but not as huge as it already was
its like bitcoin, to move it x10 you need a lot of money

It would be great to have ethereum increase in price as a result of the ethereum 2.0 project. I had the same inclination, but heard that the ethereum 2.0 project may not be activated this year. I really do wish that the price of ethereum could experience some substantial boost during the course of the year.

I think this process will be not finish this year. So, it will not happen this year. 2019 was the big year for ethereum. It can be boosted next year.
