I think this process will be not finish this year. So, it will not happen this year. 2019 was the big year for ethereum. It can be boosted next year.

It was planned since last year and as you can see on ETH twitter they already anounced the ETH2 so i'm sure it will happen this year if there's nothing obstacle to stop the development or at least they will launch it and the end of the year. But will the price reach the ATH before ? let's see

Imho next altcoin season will be biggest year to most big altcoins. But i don't know if that's happening this year. It can easily begin in this year tho.

How you know that? when bitcoin has increased and I believe it was a bull ran from $3500 to $13000 in a few days at that time but there is no altcoin which increased  a lot too. Even, the altcoin price just decreased and I just thinking that there is no altcoin season anymore. The investor will just believe that bitcoin is always being promising place to be choose for investment.

after that, many people will see and make Bitcoin hype again. and that's when people invest in cryptocurrency

As has happened recently, BSV price has increased drastically I saw on coinmarketcap its price increased for almost 100% but now, the BSV price just decreaseda loot. Don't you think the altcoin is really susceptive to be made as pump and dump scheme? Figure out of it and I guess investor will be more wary to choose them to store their money.

Exactly. There's no real influx of capital flowing to ETH. ERC20 is considered dead right now, no one use token anymore and most of DEX right now are dumped so hard despite in bullish market. I just can't see ETH performing well in 2020 but if the upgrade commenced it will be a different thing. But the reality hits hard when the upgrade always got delayed.

Actually, increase in ETH price was due to ICO but this form of investment is now dead and no investor is interested . I think ETH will now be just a normal coin and will depend on Bitcoin because this is the only coin that can help this whole market to rise. In my opinion, the most popular form of investment this year is IEO but IEO projects do not use ETH, which has made the coin lose value in recent years.

In addition, Vitalik has not yet updated on Ethereum 2.0, so over the next few months will still be a difficult time for this project and you should be more careful when the market turns red.

As Ethereum forks its way into becoming a full-fledged PoS cryptocurrency, the new year of 2020 is expected to bring a rise of ETH's price across the crypto market. While Bitcoin is still the true indicator of altcoins' prices, Ethereum could experience a short boost in price due to people's excitement of the release of Casper PoS on the ETH blockchain. I have to admit that development has been somewhat slow, but everything has been done in a safe and secure way. Maybe 2020, will be the year Ethereum goes full PoS? Whatever the case will be, it looks like this year will be ETH's biggest one yet as it's one step closer towards becoming a PoS cryptocurrency. At first, it'll be a hybrid PoW + PoS coin until its ready enough to become a completely PoS coin. Staking Pools will be the hottest trend of 2020, as people who cannot afford the minimum requirement of 32 ETH to become a validator, will simply resort to these services. With a PoS version of the Ethereum blockchain, the competition will be fierce among other competitors such as EOS and Cardano. On the other hand, Ethereum Classic (ETC) will retain its PoW consensus algorithm distancing itself from Ethereum in every way. Maybe ETH miners will flock into ETC once the former does the transition from PoW to PoS?

Is everyone a fan of this update? I don't really know a lot about PoS vs PoW but it seems some people do still prefer PoW over PoS. These people who prefer PoW over PoS might turn away from ETH to ETC once ETH gets full PoS. If that's the case, it's not good for ETH and opens the chance for the "flippening" for ETC if more people prefer the initial PoW.

How soon is this update could come into effect? It doesn't look too big to me though, I don't see why going into PoS could boost ETH price to new high. Especially if the high is in the range of thousands It will need an even crazier bull run than 2017 to achieve that in my opinion, not just a PoS update.

If Bitcoin will keep rallying this year, then we have to expect that ETH will do the same. Somewhat just a puzzled this time since we are not already in the bullish and the trend is still at usual flows (dump and pump). We'd supposed to think also of some factors that could trigger a market surge and that is HALVING but we're not sure if it pushes the entire market just like it did in the previous halving or it will just stay the same.

we cannot deny that ICO is currently in a bad period and IEO is growing, but I believe that whatever form is created, if indeed the character of the person who makes bad intentions will be the same. so I still believe that ethereum will still be a good alternative for investment and there's no denying this. Even though the glorious period of 2017 ethereum has been experienced, why can't it also happen the following year if ethereum still remains the goal of the growth of the new altcoin.

what will get Ethereum toward the price of $ 500 is Ethereum 2.0, currently Ethereum developers haven't published when it's time to launch, if they really decide on this Q1 then I'm not surprised Eth prices have crept up

And you didn't watch the latest tweet from ethereum core development if the full implementation is about to be finished next year. I just try to remind you there will be a lot of phase to upgrade the network into the ethereum 2.0
The core developer just try to take the longest time scan to make sure if everything can be done perfectly. I think that's not a problem of ethereum doesn't try to rust it.

In my opinion, this year is an introduction of the good thngs that will happen in ETH network because of the upcoming POS, bitcoin halving and i will advise you to never underestimate ETH upcoming POS cause it a strategy planned by the ETH team since block rewards is reduced.
EOS is just another centralized coin and won't believe it prices stable if i were you.

The bear market still continues to be become a biggest struggles for us nowadays, and yet previous price increase was still having difficult moments to increase progressively. This year for eth was indeed unpredictable, we can predict accurately and we only hear speculations without strong evidence that it could provide us 100% awareness on when to hit the right target.

New system should be adapted to the market before it going success, and it's not an easy process, that's why many coins that have transtion from PoW to PoS is dropped because they can't survive the adaptation. I'm sure ETH with great team and great community could pass that time

There is a lot of phases to the update, yes. However, just the fact that it's being updated with a bunch of new features will hype it up and probably increase the price. Just look at how much BSV has gone up with good news over the last week or so. That same thing is probably going to happen to Ethereum whenever they roll out updates. Good news is usually good for the price of a coin.

Price of ETH will not increase without any official information as it is currently only a prediction of investors and certainly people will have to wait a long time to see this. I think you should not put too much faith in this coin because ETH has not been able to rise well during the past 2 years and caused a lot of investors to give up. Personally, I will invest again when this coin returns to the best stage of development because that is the time when I can make hight profit.
