Liverpool were so close to winning the premier league that year. People remember it for the Gerrard slip and Mourinho running down the touchline celebrating. I wonder how the Liverpool fans and the team would feel like if the remaining season was cancelled and all teams start again next season in August for the 2020/21 season.
They already know. Nothing new for Liverpool fans @JollyGood I don’t know about Liverpool fans, but as a Manchester United fan I’ll be very happy if they’re not crowned as Premier League champions. However as a football fan I’ll have to admit it’s a harsh decision considering how dominant they were this season, and this Thursday we will find out what happens next. It will be harsh on Liverpool but another view is to make the full season null and void. Karren Brady the West Ham vice-chair says ‘only fair thing to do’ is cancel season: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/mar/14/west-ham-karren-brady-calls-for-premier-league-cancellation-coronavirusIt will be interesting to see what happens when the football club representatives meet to discuss possible steps. @JollyGood I don’t know about Liverpool fans, but as a Manchester United fan I’ll be very happy if they’re not crowned as Premier League champions. However as a football fan I’ll have to admit it’s a harsh decision considering how dominant they were this season, and this Thursday we will find out what happens next.

It is very hard to say what should happen to the EPL (and other leagues obviously) because of the CoronaVirus. If the current table is being used as the final table (give the title to Liverpool) then how about the other teams especially those teams in the last 3 relegation positions while they still have the chance to move up if the league is not suspended. Also about those teams that are competing for the next year CL's group stage. IMO, it is OK if the title is given to Liverpool because it is almost impossible for other teams to win the title even if the league is not suspended. But it wont be fair if the last 3 teams are being relegated to Championship next year. Obviously it will be strange if there is a winner but no relegations. This situation is out of human control, no one expect this virus. Any official final decision for the competition, there will be always debate and argument especially from the fans of each team.

Although using current table would be good idea because Liverpool is very much ahead, it does not reflect a league. I am not sure if something has ever happened like this before. I would rather say it's good to void. That way, everyone will have peace of mind other than Liverpool

They are out of every league and only thing remaining is PL and with such a display they should be the one lifting it. I would say let's see how situation settles on for some time and continue if the virus disappears what worst in that. Its bit early to make a decision IMO. I would say let's wait and see ATM.

Alan Shearer says: " it’s unfair if Liverpool are awarded Premier League title if season is cancelled over coronavirus" " If, and it is a huge if, the season cannot be completed then there is no way you can have a winner or loser" Full article: https://metro.co.uk/2020/03/16/alan-shearer-unfair-liverpool-awarded-pl-title-season-cancelled-coronavirus-12403302I agree with Alan Shearer. How is it possible to work out who gets relegated and who gets promoted from/to each of the leagues including the premier league? Even if the top team (in this case Liverpool) were mathematically unable to be caught therefore would be winners, there is a case to say that if any even happened with say 2 or 3 games to go which results in a points deduction then it could change things. Surely the sensible thing to do is to make the season void and all teams in all the leagues start the season from scratch in August. That should only be considered if it is not possible to extend the current season to accommodate all games. -------------------- Alan Sugar says "give it to Liverpool" Karren Brady says "make it void"

I think the most reasonable decision is to use the current table as the final table, but no relegation/promotion should take place. I think Liverpool can be safely declared as the EPL winner since they are dominating the league and have 25 points more than City. This way, at least we have something to celebrate in this season with no "unjust" feeling.

Look at the premier league table, Liverpool have not mathematically won it yet though there is a case for them being eventual winners. Sheffield United in their first season back to the premier league are fighting for a Champions League or Europa League spot. Wolves, Tottenham and Arsenal are all vying for an automatic Champions League spot if Manchester City fail in their attempt to overturn their European ban at the appeal hearing. Manchester United and Chelsea are fighting for 4th place finish so how can that be called? Norwich who are rock bottom are just 6 points from safety, who says they will not turn it around and stay up? Why should Bournemouth accept being relegated when they are on equal points with Watford and West Ham? If the same thing was being discussed that season when Newcastle united were 12 points ahead of Manchester United but in the end Newcastle lost the lead and Manchester United were crowned champions of the premier league - then Newcastle would wrongly have been crowned champions. What is the fair way to deal with these issues? I think the most reasonable decision is to use the current table as the final table, but no relegation/promotion should take place. I think Liverpool can be safely declared as the EPL winner since they are dominating the league and have 25 points more than City. I think no relegation/promotion would also be harsh for the ones who are in line for promotion from EFL Championship this season. Their progress so far would become meaningless. I think whatever decision one would choose it would satisfy one but wouldn't be a favorable for other. It's very hard decision to take. Damn't it Corona

Dude, it's 25 points. If this season couldn't continue, it's correct that there is no winner or loser a.k.a the season void. However, it feels so unfair to Liverpool. Damn't it Corona Yea, they could do no relegation only but still doing promotion, however, it will make a mess for next season. At least the EFL champions still get the prize money, and they will be stronger with the money.

I agree, it would be unfair to Liverpool. I will go further and say it would also be unfair to Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion who are top of the Championship trying to break in to the premier league. I think it would also be extremely harsh on Fulham, Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Preston North End who are all in the Championship play-off positions. I also think it would be extremely unfair to Bristol City, Millwall, Cardiff City, Blackburn Rovers and Swansea City who are all within touching distance of getting in to a Championship play-off position. Where does it stop? What is the fair way to proceed? How can one team be awarded a winners title or another be relegated or another be promoted in this current climate? Yes it would be unfair to Liverpool, they have been excellent this season but I would have wanted them to win the premier league title after playing their 38 games like all other teams. Dude, it's 25 points.
If this season couldn't continue, it's correct that there is no winner or loser a.k.a the season void. However, it feels so unfair to Liverpool.

As Liverpool fans, all decisions that are detrimental LFC are unfair and vice versa for other clubs, and there will never be a decision that can make all parties happy, there are always pros and cons. What needs to be done is to examine before making a decision which makes the most sense and is acceptable to all clubs.

All players have extra free days and enough time to rest in this quarantine days. I think it would be ok if they play on June, Jully to finish all tournaments. He will have a smaller break before the start of the new season but even now they have an unexpected break in March and April. I still see that they(UEFA) are persistently trying to add Euro in this year. I guess there is a lot of money for them, but the World cup and EURO always negatively reflect on national championships. I hope there will be the reason and will move it to next year if they can't cancel it.

I didn't vote in the poll because I'd rather see neither options seems fair, imo, Liverpool surely has won the title, but there are other positions still up for contention, like the slots for the CL and EL, as well as relegation battle, it doesn't make any sense to just relegate team when they can still fight to earn their stay in the premier league, I'd rather wait to see the season played out fully regardless of how long it takes. How can there be a fair way to decide who gets relegated from the premier league and who gets promoted from the championship?
There's no fair way asides seeing that all matches get played.

There is no need to debate what is fair for all clubs , the decision to postpone uero 2020 is enough to answer all means that there is time for the league to finish the match.

The premier league have more matches to play than any to other leagues. I think there is a minimum of two months necessary to play all of the postponed games. In the best optimistic case restart can be on May, so PL can be finished in July. This is in the best case and highly optimistic. It's my opinion based on other cases. Quarantine in China lasts for around three months (as of today, no masks are required in China), in the UK more serious measures were taken only a few days ago. hope it doesn't escalate like in Italy but this hints at a longer period of crisis.
