I am currently attending the ICE London event today and there is evidently a massive focus on esports this year. So I wanted to find out if anyone has recently bet on anything esports related?

There was a live esports game today (CS:GO) at ICE with GG.Bet covering the betting, with the match taking place between Mad lions and OG esports.

The only thing that gets new when it comes to eSports betting is the game that the people are betting on. I would love to see more competitive tournament worthy games gain fame to be a new star of eSports betting, not that I am bored with the current games being played but I want to see something new like eSports bet on Streetfighter Tournaments, Mortal Kombat X or 11. Good for you that you won your bets, it's difficult to place bets especially if the outcome is uncertain.

I have made a few bets on esports as well, not much but as you said this increased during the last year in which we had such a shortage of sports due to the pandemic, however I really think esports and esports bets can become really popular during the next years and decades as in principle they are similar to sports betting, after all I practised some sports in my youth and I like to see what the very best can do in that sport, and the same is true with video games, I still play some video games from time to time and I like to see what the best can do with the very same tools.

Lot of people do place esports bets. As far as I remember, there are sites that allows you to place bets with "skins" or "keys", and then valve started to take some actions against them. That would be too boring and taxing for you because you have to go to the venue yourself. The reason that it is rare is because most tournaments hosted are not that big and fighting games hasn't been a mainstream tournament game choice which is sad because it has a potential.

You post your links out of context and without reading what is being asked. The link you shared is showing the top fiat sites and not even a single site accepts cryptocurrencies from what I know, except loot.bet who I believe accepts Bitcoins.

I do bet a lot on e-sports and mainly on League of Legends and Dota2 apart from occasionally betting on CS:GO when top teams are playing because the lower-ranked teams are just too inconsistent to even bet on.

There is some league always going on whether it's for LOL or DOTA2 and one good thing to bet on these e-sports is that we get a chance to analyze the drafts from both teams and then make our bets. Damwon Kia will win worlds, I feel this year.

I've never tried to bet in a live FPS esports game even though I played a lot of games like Valorant, CS:GO and COD etc.

But I tried to bet in games like DOTA 2 and LOL which is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, because of the hype of other gamers.

That's one of the reasons that I slowly fall out of love for betting in cosmetics in eSports, the value of the cosmetic most of the items depreciate in value. If there’s a huge demand, the many gambling house will follow that and list those active esports so they can attract bettor as well. I can confirm that loot.bet and gg.bet are quite amazing because they offer odds on most games in-play and their coverage is also decent while cloudbet and other crypto sportsbooks that offer odds on e-sports have good coverage but sometimes lack odds for in-play games. Dreamleague for DOTA2 which was concluded recently I tried to bet but only some of the games were offered for live betting.

I feel like although the crypto based sportsbooks have evolved a lot but still lack in some aspects and one of them is having more coverage and live odds for e-sports matches apart from other things like having more consistent odds. Once RTS game genre becomes more popular I will give esports a try. So far FPS and MOBA genres are the most popular and demanded ones, but I don't have enough knowledge to bet on them, especially MOBA where the games are very specific and have their own names for every stuff in game and many different possible strategies, combinations.
You have to know what each skill does, what are the pros and cons of each character and even if you know all these things it might not mean a lot, as the game is constantly receiving updates which nerf or power up some things in game. Yeah, the community for those games are not yet popular. But once they've become more popular, sportsbooks will have them enlist because there's a large community that supports them. I think that's about the consistency of such communities. Unlike the other popular games, they have it on their books because of their community and those games are very much popular. You have a very significant advantage over other people, like always knowing the game in which you are betting is critical for your success, we know that games can change significantly after several updates have been made however the fact that you played those games and that you are still in contact with the community means that you know very well when the odds given by the casino are not right and you can take advantage of this and make bets that not only have a higher probability of winning but that have very high odds, if I was in your position I'll do everything to maximize my chances of becoming profitable on those games because that is not an opportunity that presents itself that often.

Thinking that it's a fixed game something scripted really turns us off, but if we're a fan and we do know how the teams really wanted to win and their willing to give a good match it can still worth the risk si CE who knows we were able to bet in the game right game we're they are the assigned team to win. Depends on the tournament, there's a possibility that some games can be rigged as i've seen teams getting private offers (here's a recent example)  but when you're only following bigger tournaments this becomes unlikely to happen when there's a big reward on the line compared to what those match fixers are offering. For me though as much as I want to make speculations I try to avoid those thoughts since it could put you off while betting so it's best to move on right away whenever you get a loss.

I watched a significant part of the championship that ended the other day (at the same time I tracked the odds and odds live) and I can say that there is no particular difference from betting on football or tennis. I don't bet on esports because I don't understand how that works... Once I checked some betting markets for League of Legends, I like to watch it when I have free time, I also play it when I have free time, so I am interested only in that game! But, as I said when I checked the market everything was confusing for me!
To be honest, I didn't try to understand it and to check how it works, I just postponed that for later... but that latter never came! When I watch some LoL games I think about checking it more closely and getting more involved, but I really need more free time! Ever since the boom on Esports popularity I started betting on League of Legends teams and Overwatch teams as these are the ones that I am most familiar with. I also tried Fantasy drafting but it didn't really tickle my fancy so I came back to regular esports betting. I can say it's much easier to bet on esports rather than regular games because you can really see the games even in the player's perspective, giving you confidence to either bet more or bet less.

All matters with preference because im both esports bettor(dota2, cs:go) and at the same time im also a sporst bettor too (NBA). It doesnt really give
you out  restriction or limitation as long you do have money to play and what do interest you in.I have placed lots of bets on esports bets since
im a gamer since from my highschool days then it would really be just entertaining to make out bets into those teams that you had idolized wayback

I play Dota 2 myself from time to time and i also like to watch professional matches of Dota 2 since many years now and i watch almost every big tournament on twitch. I also think it is a great esports to place bets on, at least during major tournaments with a big price pool. I usually don't bet on games with low tier teams in low tier tournaments with a low price pool because there i am always afraid, that the matches may be fixed. If you only get 500$ for winning a match why would a team not accept to lose a match willingly if they get paid 600$ for example. You don't have that problems at big tournaments.

high risk, high reward. I know people who make more money placing bets in obscure tournaments than in big events because more often than not the bookmakers won't price the matches correctly due to the lack of info (of the team, league, players, historic data, stats, etc). I wouldn't recommed this "strategy" to the average bettor, takes a lot more effort and time to make some decent bank, i'd rather stick to the popular leagues.

It seems like eSports is a massive growth industry and we are still in the very early days of it. I think the reason we see so many of the older games like counter strike and league of legends, as opposed to many of the newer games (e.g. call of duty) on betting sites basically comes down to cheating. We're unlikely to see much sports betting going on outside of highly regulated arena style games, where players have to use host provided machines that cannot be interfered with in order to make sure everyone is playing fairly. Covid would actually have put this whole scene on ice for a while because it's so easy to modify and introduce hacks to machines at "home" that would be untraceable but wildly rig the game in a cheaters favor.

I am trying to remember what was confusing for me, and in which casino... but I can't, it was a long time ago! It depends on what kind of betting approach is used by the person. I act like you and place bets in those games where I already have an understanding and can quickly figure out the current situation. Some people believe that this is not necessary at all and that you need to look only at the numbers (odds). I do not condemn this approach, it makes sense if you have come up with some kind of system in order to place more profitable bets on average than the bookmakers offer.
