Has anyone placed esports bets?

I used to play some Dota and Counter Strike back in the day and a lot of Starcraft.. but those days are long gone now. I knew everything about the Top players and the rankings ...but back then not a lot of eSport betting was done.

Now I changed strategy and I bet on CS:GO with the knowledge that I get from the kids that are still playing it. I know the basics of the game and they will tell me what the pro's and cons are for the latest players.. so I formulate my bets based on that. 

I have to say, some of these kids are fanatics and they know what they are talking about. (It shows in my win statistics) 

It seems that you have some really good kids with you to have your win statistics to be so good. What site do you usually go to when you are betting on eSports and other sports in general, I am pretty curious. Also to include it to the curiosity, can you post your statistics?

LOL why would those real sports be a waste of time?   You're wrong I think, betting on Esports is the real waste of time. Esports are famous to be highly corrupted, with lots of fixed matches and cheating, you should be very careful if you bet on this activity.  

he didnt said all sports but he only mentioned some name and he mentioned simulated sports but i think theres something wrong with his post because he also said that esport is a waste of time , if i read it correctly . esports and betting in esports is not a waste of time because i never think of it as a corrupt but if that was your opinion ill respect that .

As I understood his post he said table tennis and UFC are a waste of time according to him, so I was just wondering why he was thinking that and why he prefers betting on esports while they have a really bad reputation of rigged contests.

So many assumptions about what I said and maybe I should have phrased that better.

What I said was that during lockdown last year, we had limited options "Either table tennis, UFC, some simulated sports which are a waste of time I would say, and otherwise Esports."

So I meant that simulated sports are a waste of time and I said that because there is no stream or anything and all we can do is trust the data and results provided by them. I have seen some strange things and results happening in simulated sports which made me feel like its a waste of time.

UFC is a good option and I myself make bets on weekends so I would never call it as a waste of time. Table tennis is not bad but ain't great either of matches are unpredictable and underdog wins more than favorites from what I have seen, so there is no consistency in TT.

I hope I cleared any and all doubts about my comment.

Once RTS game genre becomes more popular I will give esports a try. So far FPS and MOBA genres are the most popular and demanded ones, but I don't have enough knowledge to bet on them, especially MOBA where the games are very specific and have their own names for every stuff in game and many different possible strategies, combinations.
You have to know what each skill does, what are the pros and cons of each character and even if you know all these things it might not mean a lot, as the game is constantly receiving updates which nerf or power up some things in game. So you need to be always looking for news about the last patches and updates.

Yeah, the community for those games are not yet popular. But once they've become more popular, sportsbooks will have them enlist because there's a large community that supports them. I think that's about the consistency of such communities. Unlike the other popular games, they have it on their books because of their community and those games are very much popular. Maybe someday they'll have it on their list.

I hope that it will happen because I am growing fond of fighting games despite being an avid FPS player my whole life. Maybe someday, Streetfighter or Mortal Kombat will have their big break and get their chance to become a part of eSports betting.

I love fighting games as well but I think there are some reasons why they are not more popular now, the first is that they are kind of repetitive as the only thing the players are doing is to fight, the second issue I see is that the ceiling has been lowered, when you see some of the combos the players perform and then you try them yourself you see it is not as difficulty, inputs are very forgiving compared to previous editions of the same games so people are not impressed by the combos since they can perform them with some difficulty, instead of being in awe as it was in the past when a player performed a combo you knew you will never be able to land.

I am currently attending the ICE London event today and there is evidently a massive focus on esports this year. So I wanted to find out if anyone has recently bet on anything esports related?

I have personally bet on esports before and I was notorious in such stuff during my younger years.

The only difference is that before, I used to bet in-game currencies (i.e. CSGO - weapon skins; Dota 2 - hero skins, etc. as cryptocurrencies were not that famous back then. Currently, I tried betting using my spare bitcoins 2-3 years ago and I actually won three (3) games out of four (4). Personally, betting on esports involve knowing the current ranking of teams and their matchups.

Much like in sports, betting in e-sports is not that complicated but you have to know at least to such degree, the team you are betting on.

Sometimes, their info can be accurate because they are often playing the game and they are fanatics than what we see and even that info comes from the source we get, so if we follow their guidance to bet, we will have a big chance to win.

It will help us give more info to analyze, but we still need to have as much info about the game before selecting our bet. It is difficult to place a bet on esports since I do not know much about esports games.

Actually I am betting in E-sports for almost 7 years and that is because I am also a gamer and a gambler as well. Oh I'm really sorry justdimin I didn't get what you mean, I was thinking you were just some kind of geek despising "physical" sports and only caring about electronic ones.
Besides that, I wasn't aware of what you're saying about table tennis, if bookmakers odds are wrong it could be interesting,I've heard several  professional punters saying it's harder to find value bets in the biggest sports like soccer for example because bookmakers are better to evaluate odds/implied probabilities.

You have a very significant advantage over other people, like always knowing the game in which you are betting is critical for your success, we know that games can change significantly after several updates have been made however the fact that you played those games and that you are still in contact with the community means that you know very well when the odds given by the casino are not right and you can take advantage of this and make bets that not only have a higher probability of winning but that have very high odds, if I was in your position I'll do everything to maximize my chances of becoming profitable on those games because that is not an opportunity that presents itself that often.

Thinking that it's a fixed game something scripted really turns us off, but if we're a fan and we do know how the teams really wanted to win and their willing to give a good match it can still worth the risk si CE who knows we were able to bet in the game right game we're they are the assigned team to win. We will not be able to enjoy the bet and the game if we focus too much in thinking that they were planned, we just need to see by ourselves whether we bet in a right team or not.

I do actually have the same impressions for that time where you can really feel out that there's something wrong specially if you do know
a certain teams performance and suddenly degraded where it turns out that it isn't the team that you known on.

Depends on the tournament, there's a possibility that some games can be rigged as i've seen teams getting private offers (here's a recent example)  but when you're only following bigger tournaments this becomes unlikely to happen when there's a big reward on the line compared to what those match fixers are offering. For me though as much as I want to make speculations I try to avoid those thoughts since it could put you off while betting so it's best to move on right away whenever you get a loss.

That is always a possibly even in sports, but I get what you are saying, in traditional sport leagues this is way more difficult as many players are paid a fortune and it is easier to see if something is wrong, but at the end of the day unless you are right there watching their every action is going to be very difficult to detect this kind of fraud, but while that is the negative think about the positive, casinos have decades if not a hundred years of history to be able to calculate very accurate odds for traditional sports, something that is not true at all with esports and that gives you an advantage.

Very possible to any sports gambling as fixed match are really chronic.

Any sports event that being use for gambling are prone to this kind of manipulations, as there are people who have huge amount of
money to offer just to see the rigged happen. It's also been discuss inside the forum.

Last year there was a time when i was interested in placing esports bets because all other sports were not being held because of covid-19. Although i did enjoyed esports and placing bets on it but since the physical sports have resumed, i have stopped placing the bets on esports and focus on other sports.
