Instamined in under 5 mins from launch, this is a new record Killed for solo miners in 7 minutes from launch, another record. IPOminer tossed a huge fuckload of hash at it.. Multipools killed living coins, now IPOminer kills them even before they hatch lol This is why launching a scrypt coin is useless, the dumps will be insane. It will be impossible to keep the price stable. The future is X11, X11+DGW is what ALL coins that want to survive need to use at launch. Last time someone promised 'steadily rising exchange rate' - AIRcoin happened, what a disaster.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5424980#msg5424980

Please explain. Surely if too may people mine it, the difficulty rises to compensate, and the value of the coins stays the same. A fixed amount of coins will be generated per day independant of the number of people mining.

Just tested it, I was trying to SELL STD coins. In Opera 12, it repeatedly tells me the Captcha code is wrong, when it isn't. In IE 11, it doesn't ask for a Captcha code (because it remembers the one I did in Opera?), but then sticks on "generating STD deposit address". I left it for a good 5 minutes.
And a minor point - Step 1 asks for my BITCOIN address. But in step 2 it calls it a STANDARDCOIN address.

I fixed the typo bug.

So have people actually revieved their IPO coins? Is this going to be added to other traditional exhanges or is this coin going to use it's own exchange exclusively?

No coins so far. A huge among of coins has been sent in an instant. Need a lot of time for miners to confirm them all. See the coins movement here: http://explorer.standardcoin.net/

I have now managed to get an STD deposit address to sell my STD coins, but I don't have enough to meet the minimum requirement, so I'll have to try later....

Because your bitcoin invested this round is used to cover the future investors' STD value and miners' STD value. You will get back that amount of BTC only if you sell right after you invested. If you hold on to your STD, the value will increase and you will earn much more then your investment.
