There's a saying that  nothing on the Internet is safe, thus has been one of my philosophy and will always reminds myself to be more careful while surfing the Internet of a thing. So, saving anything online looks dangerous and shouldn't be use by cryptocurrency holders because of hacks. Personally, am not using a hardware wallet but have a cold storage for my stash and have been safe on the Internet. Don't click everything you sew as a link sent to you or come across.

As I was reading news today on cointelegraph, what i read really shocked me. It was about a new trojan. The trojan can affect exchanges apps. The trojan get access to specifically google factor authenticator on devices and steal it. Use the link below for the full details

https://cointelegraph.com/news/threat-alert-new-trojans-targeting-major-crypto-exchanges-apps-discovered

I am new to cryptocurrencies  but I gained a lot from this news. We need to stay connected everyday to read news because cyber criminals are looking for ways to steal our coins.

A week ago, I read about the safest wallets, I found out that the safest are paper wallet and hardware wallet. The wallets are offline but to make a transaction, you have to connect it online. I later read of a malware that can steal cryptocurrencies  from trezor or ledger nano in just 15 seconds which are the best hardware wallets.

So, we need to know how to manage our wallets too and have a strong antivirus to protect us from hackers and also we need to know the latest threats from cyber criminals so that we can protect ourselves away from them.

There is no trojan virus for android nor android viruses so I think it safe to use mobile application in saving cryptocurrencies. Another, I am not sure if it is true but I have a friend who told me that he bought a flashdrive that does not stores movies, songs, pictures, ms office files but stores bitcoin. If it is true then it is a really good way of protecting your crypto and keeping it away from the internet.

Knowledge is our best weapon against all these hackers. If we are going to stay ignorant and miss out the most important news in the market every time, then we would end up becoming prone on getting hacked. Always stay updated on which antivirus would function best on protecting your information and at the same time, know and find some ways on how you can give your account the best security it should really have. If you are going to let your account lie down without any protection from hackers and you are being careless, then don't be surprised anymore if one day you lose all of your wealth.

One way of protecting my bitcoin is accessing trusted websites only. Another is by using hardware wallet or offline mode. In that case, it is far away from the internet. Hackers always finds a way to get your precious coins so it is better to get away your coins away from the internet. We must think what will they do so that we can prevent them and secure everything we worked for.

That statement you have said about the internet is true, there is really nothing safe with the internet because you are browsing into a public and wide area network. The only thing that is not public is your important information but it is already stored in a particular database wherein it is encrypted so they cannot use your account. I highly recommend to everyone for you to secure your funds is that you should store your important information on your local devices and do not use some storage online. You should have to store it on your pc or mobile phone.

Indeed, do not get easily hooked by the ads also. Do not click any links that are suspicious because that might be malicious software that can steal your important information. I can say that you must be informed when you are making steps online because one single mistake can lead to a bad situation, which is losing your money,

You are right, without good knowledge our defense will be weak, and our wallet will be hacked. I have a bad experience and lost around 0.05 btc because my email was hacked, even though my email and wallet used 2-fa, but when my email was hacked it could all be manipulated. One thing I have learned, no matter how strong the protection that we provide, there is absolutely nothing safe on the internet. Since then I have avoided using a wallet that was confirmed using email.
Hopefully this bad experience does not happen to you, and as much as possible continue to pray to God to ask for extra protection.

You should not be too worried about hackers as long as you are storing your BTC offline.

Hardware wallets such as Ledger and Trezor are worth the investment.

Peace of mind.

Just save your wallet password and Private key in a secure place but don't keep it into email or pen-drive because pen-drive can anytime lost and email may hacked anytime. If there are possibility with 2fa system must make that so your cryptocurrencies and bitcoin will be highly secure.

Thanks.

Simply do not share your private keys and information to other people no other than yourself. If they won't know such information, your cryptos won't be at risk. Also avoid logging in your wallet to other devices. Hardware wallets are also another way to secure your cryptos but be mindful of not putting it to any place in order to double the assurance that hackers won't have a chance of getting your holdings without your consent, ofcourse.

Websites that has credibility is also another way of securing your cryptos. There are fake websites which would scam your holdings if ever you won't be careful of your actions. Always check the site's credibility and reputation. Asking first is not expensive, and it could save your entire cryptoholdings.

That is probably a hardware wallet. I know some wallets such as ledger nano and trezor and by far reading the feedbacks, these two are guaranteed to secure your holdings.

Let me correct,
What you have read is not 15 seconds but 15 minutes. They have found out the flaws of the hardware wallet that most crypto user is using right now, but it is also explained that for this to initiate the hacker needs a physical interaction with the ledger itself.

So, we need to know how to manage our wallets too and have a strong antivirus to protect us from hackers and also we need to know the latest threats from cyber criminals so that we can protect ourselves away from them.
The only thing you need is to avoid clicking any suspiscious links and avoid downloading any unnecessary application to your personal computer.

You can simply protect your wallet by not sharing any information of your wallet, by not clicking links, bookmark the original links that you always use (especially those links that you need to log in, it is important to avoid phising), and avoid downloading anything that you do not need.

The problem is people are disregarding the fact that a basic knowledge about safety and security on the internet will help them. They don't analyze that hackers are consistently searching for an opportunity to exploit their funds and that's the reason why we have to be cautious. Sometimes they are also the reason why we end up on a being victimized by hackers because they are not applying their knowledge or the lesson that they have learn from their experiences. Personally, I protect my funds by using hardware wallets and I always keep myself notified when it comes to scam/hack issues.

Basic rules:
1. Do not use public internet connections
2. Do not store online your crypto for a minute longer than really necessary. Use hardware wallets or cold wallets for storage.
3. Do not click any clickbait/suspicious links from websites or even messages on messenger/Facebook. They might be very similar to the real ones as well (like bilcointalk.org or bitcointalk.or) and may capture your logins, passwords or replace real wallet addresses with hacker ones. So then, in this case, the safest approach would be to use separate devices for private stuff and dealing with cryptocurrencies.
4. Double-check the wallet address before the transaction - transactions are not reversible.
5. Check the security of the website - if there is no SSL padlock and address does not start with https:// be very cautious.

I think even though you have provided security in your wallet with a very high level like that then there are still some other ways for hackers to steal your assets easily, you should know that some places of exchange some time ago that have a high level of security also have security systems are strong but can still be hacked, so there is no place to be safe, all of them still have a very high risk.

Hardware wallet can be the right choice because it does not directly interact with devices that have an internet connection.

Never open your wallet or accounts to another device. Don't log in if the device is not yours. Always keep that in mind.

People are always losing their money because they always forgot to logout their account when they use another device. It is very dangerous most especially if you are not really close to the person you borrowed the device. Sometimes you just need to use your own cellphones, laptops, desktop and etc., for a more secured and protected bitcoin. The same with the other cryptocurrency, take care of your belongings most especially those cellphones that have access to your crypto account because we don't know if people are good in hacking accounts or not. So the good option is to always be careful and comfortable with your account and always use one device only for the crypto account.

Of course, we had to forget about the rule "do not keep your cryptocurrency online for longer than really necessary". And remember to set up all the given safety and backup options possible - if the hardware wallet brakes, you will still have access to its content.

Hardware wallet is the safest way to prevent any kind of scamming situation, just always remember that nothing is safe online, you can't underestimate any hackers so it's better to be sure than sorry. Hardware wallet is just 100$++ and will guarantee the safeness of your money, or just simply print a paper wallet and that will settle it all.

For me, protecting bitcoin is equal to staying out of internet. Buy hardware wallet! or print a paper wallet!

It is true,

Most crypto users become a victim of hacking because of this trick. And since this is free they just click the link and log in their wallet on the fake website that hackers made. That's why it is better to investigate if the website is legit first and see for yourself if it is really a giveaway. Also, don't just easily log in the wallet to being a victim of hacking.
