I added a new TOTAL bar, which I think is useful.

Initially, I thought that the end of ChipMixer campaign would have a negative impact over the local boards posts, however it is not true for all local boards. The TOTAL bar shows that.

Even so, you managed to be faster than me, with my merit tree. Yesterday I had everything ready to do it, but then tiredness got the best of me.

I thought so too, but luckily it didn't affect local boards as much as I thought it will. One of the reasons might be the fact that majority of ex CM participants got in campaigns that count local boards and I think that trend of new campaigns accepting local boards posts also helped in keeping local boards post numbers.

I happen to think that, although the new campaigns accept posts from local tabs, they are more restrictive in general. Like they only accept 5 posts locally, against the 20 that have to be done. Either way, that's already good, we just hope that this type of campaigns continue to exist.

Hm, I don't think that's true, that new campaigns are generally restrictive when it comes to local boards. Well, at least not from what I have noticed.  

I just looked at the campaigns that have been launched in the last 7-8 months that are still running, and out of 5 of them only one has that 5 local board posts restrictions. I guess more and more managers are realizing that local boards are important part of the forum as well and that is worth to advertise there as well.


@fillippone this was your chance to get rid off "slacker of the month" title because I am not sure that you will get another chance like this anytime soon.

Well, I didn't do that analysis in detail. But based on his analysis, he's actually more open to campaigns in the local tabs.

In this sense, it is good to see that everything is more open to local tabs, which well deserve.

Oh, new statistics, and just a couple of days ago I wanted to come here and ask if the thread is dead.

Usually I publish these overviews much earlier in the month but from time to time I get into lazy mode and that's exactly what happened this month. But yeah, I am surprised that no one complained earlier. 

I was surprised by the statistics on the growth of merit in the Indonesian locale. I often visit their local thread: [HELP]Bantuan untuk menaikkan Rank (Newbie s.d Hero) V.2 [UPDATE] to help guys rate posts. Apparently now the same initiative began to be supported by othe rmerit source, which is very good.

Ye I just looked at Merit Dashboard data for Indonesian board and it looks like that beside you, few other non-Indonesian members helped them out which caused such a big increase in merit shared. Btw, you (and others with extra merit available) might look into some other active boards with low merit/source ratio, like Phillippines and Nigerian.

Thanks Rikafip for another very interesting analysis of this forum.
I'm glad that we avoided a drop in activity last month because it's almost summer when there will almost certainly be a lot less activity on the forum.
Unfortunately, we still have a decline in the number of active members.
We in the Croatian local board are lucky that thanks to 1 member we always have solid local statistics and that saves us for now from being the worst local board on this forum 
We should reward him for that effort

I'm glad that we avoided a drop in activity last month because it's almost summer when there will almost certainly be a lot less activity on the forum.

I looked some data for June and you are right, we can expect pretty big drop of post numbers in some boards, which is kinda epxected as summer is coming so people have better things to do that spend time on the forum.

We in the Croatian local board are lucky that thanks to 1 member we always have solid local statistics and that saves us for now from being the worst local board on this forum 
We should reward him for that effort 

While spammovic is responsible for almost 20% of our total posts in May, if you check that table at the end of the overview you might notice that there are some local boards that depend even more on one member and in soem cases even go to almsot 50%.

As I just finished my monthly Italian board overview, I noticed the Indonesian board had another extremely positive month.

As I am a nosy one, I ran one of my "manual scripts" to check who was sending merits to who (something I usually do on the Italian board).

As I just finished my monthly Italian board overview, I noticed the Indonesian board had another extremely positive month.

I was also surprised to see such a big merit increase in Indonesian board (first thing that crossed my mind is that they maybe got a new merit source but I was too lazy to check Merit Dashboard to see what's acually going on) but then Ratimov gave an explanation that external merit sources gave them a push.

I rmember same thing happened in Croatian board few years ago when we were undermerited and external merit sources came from time to time and helped.

The script has presented the good cluster results and does it produces the graphical representation as well or you use external sources for it? The progress for them is really good with active posters as well from the board.

Yeah and flash @Ratimov has great cluster lines spreading across different members like the roots of old tree along with @DdmrDdmr and others but this is really good and needful for the progress of local board members.Speaking about additional merit source then I also doubt that if any has been appointed from a long time.But if the merit source help them that will boost their confidence and we might see more progress in all aspects from Indonesian board in your next month charts.

Yep, last time thyemos introduced new merit sources was 2 years ago, back in June/July 2021. From what I noticed, he tends to add new merit sources in bulk after he notices that merrit shared across forum drops significantly, and until that happens I think that its unlikely that we will see new new merit sources, even if some local boards could really use more. 

But if the merit source help them that will boost their confidence and we might see more progress in all aspects from Indonesian board in your next month charts.

Have you tried sharing posts from your local board in Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source? I did that in the past when our local board lacked merit and it really helped us.

Our local board had very good Merit/Post ratio in May, maybe we could do a bit better with activity but I am certainly not going to write more than I usually do for anything.
When I was in Coinslotty campaign I didn't have any limitations and I didn't had to write any post in local board (or anywhere else) and I still was very much active and in top 3, not bad at all
We need to have more fresh blood and new members, but I am not expecting big change during summertime.

On the Croatian local board, we actually have a situation where almost all members have reached the desired forum ranks and no one needs new merits. 
Even new members are not interested in merit but to share their crypto experiences and knowledge with us.
I would say that our local board has a lot of quality members and several merit sources, which means that there is enough merit for everyone, but no one needs them anymore 
This is why our Merit/Post ratio in May and every month is so good.
This year we got two very active new members, but in general our local board follows the general statistics of this forum and the decline in activity.

Considering the quality of our members and lack of spam and shitposts, I think that our merit/post ratio is finally where it should be, after years of struggling and being seriously undermerited.

Yeah, that is caused by lack of new members who are willing to go through ranks. Majority of new members come, leave few posts and then disappear until they have another questions.


This just gave me an idea to make another chart with forum ranks across local boards, but I am not sure how feasible that would be. Not sure that it would make sense to make it every month, but I think I might include it in the yearly overview, like I am doing for Croatian local board.

Now I just have to figure out from where to pull that data so I can actually make a chart. @DdmrDdmr (or anyone else) do you maybe have some idea?

I think you always need merits, even if it's legendary.
The merits are the recognition that what the person says/does is useful for the readers of this community, whether that person is legendary or not.

In addition, merits continue to be useful for users to be able to participate in campaigns. Therefore, for me the merits are much more than just ranking up in the forum.

Daniel91 is OP of our local thread where members can submit their good undermerited/unmerited posts and that thread has been pretty inactive for quite some time.

I think that in the last six months or so we had maybe 5-6 submissions and that's what he (probably) meant when he said that no one needs/wants merit anymore in our local board anymore as thread used to be way more active 3-4 years ago when me and other members were going through ranks. Its sort of unwritten rule in that topic not to submit your posts once you reach Legendary rank and since majority of us reached that and we don't have many new members, thread became inactive.

I don’t really have the data to do it properly, since I only track Merited profiles (I therefore don’t have a view on all the profiles that participate in a given local board).

Regardless, it would all depend on the exact definition of what you’d like to show. I presume the driver would be to see the Ranks of participants (posters) on a given local board. In order to so, I’d use Ninjastic to derive the participants (posters) on a given timeframe, and then cross-reference the data with the Google file I update weekly here to derive the current associated Rank. Unfortunately, that would only find a match for Merited profiles, which would be a subset of what’s needed.

Perhaps TryNinja keeps/updates the profile data in his DB, and can add it to the output that generates the list of users (current available variables are {number} {username} {uid} {count}). That would make it easy to introduce current Rank into the derived information (*).

(*) Logically, Rank evolves, and data is attributed in general to the current Rank, not the Rank at the time of making a given post (i.e. If we explore a year’s worth of data, a beginner could have gone from Brand New through to Sr. Member in that time).
