Merit per transaction across local boards during 2025

Its surprising to see Greek board with the highest merit per tx, since they have one of the lowest merit per post ratios. then again, in 2024 they had the highest merit per tx so I guess members there prefer to send merit there in bulk.

Seeing Indonesia as being the lowest in points per merit transaction, this is due to the effect of the lack of merit sources
and the lack of merit of each member so that the delivery of merit to other members locally is quite limited, only 1-2 merit per post.

I myself always send 1 merit so that my merit can be evenly distributed to other members and it is very limited.

Now in 2026 it seems that Lokal Indonesia is getting more enthusiastic and continues to be active again,
becoming a local board that is quite crowded among other local boards, even though only a few members seem to be active,
but also follow other new members who are starting to enliven the forum again.

Your annual report is very nice, even a whole year in statistics.
I must admit that i really like the style of the graphs and above all the data helps us understand.
I've been venturing out of my local chapter to explore for a while now, and there are so many fascinating things to be found.

So a big congratulations once again you guys @Nigerian local board, you guys did it.. let's go again for another 60% this new year 2026 by targeting making a total of over 60,000 post.

Imho, quality>quantity, so no need to chase some imaginary number. Especially since yours are already great.

Until recently it was the case in my local board too, making our merit per tx quite low compared to some other boards, but due that we have high percentage of meritd posts.

A true snapshot of Bitcointalk

What was a pity, was the fact that I couldn't reach 2000 posts.
The month of December was weaker and spoiled the average.

According to this it looks like joker_josue was the most active local member, and it's even more impressive when we know he is from Portuguese local board.
Our local board showed good results last year, but I am expecting better results for 2026.

Thanks for comparing the data for the last 2 years, 2024 and 2025, but is there anywhere where we could see comparative results for the last 5 or 10 years?
I have to admit that, as far as our Croatian part of the forum is concerned, I am pleasantly surprised by the significant increase in activity last year compared to 2024, 50%, right?
I see that Slackovic is still the king of our forum, but new/old member Katanic97 has really seriously threatened him and has come very close to him. 
Can we expect a local report for Croatian members soon?

Unfortunately, your previous analysis confirms what I feared, which is that the decline in activity on this forum is a continuous trend that has been going on for several years (probably longer, it would be interesting to find older data).
It is probably a fact that we will have to accept, that the "golden age" of internet forums as a favorite place for discussions and sharing information is over.
I can't wait to see your analysis in the Croatian part of the forum

OF course, as others have noticed, activity seems to be slowing down a bit.
To me, it is reassuring the fact that I often still find insightful members, both already known in the forum, and new ones coming.
It can be a contraction, but as long as this community can still attract new high-profile members, this is still satisfactory to me.

The time has come for another brief monthly overview of the local boards activity, this time for January 2026. All charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja BitList

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bangladesh) unfortunately still don't have their own local boards.


Post activity per local board during January 2026

During the last month, 13925 posts were written across local boards, which is a very small decerase compared to December's number (13997). The top 5 is almost the same as month before, with only Pilipinas and German boards changing the positions, while the same thing can be said for the bottom, with Greek board being an exception.

Active members per local board during January 2026

During January, 1392 members wrote at least one post, which is a drop compared to December, during which 1441 members were active. Majority of this decrease is caused by Russian and Indonesian local boards, while some like Nigerian keep growing month after month.

Local board members per amount of posts during January 2026

When it comes to the members who wrote only 1 post, Polish local board is the leader with 57%, while at the same time Nigerian local has only 15% of such members.

In the 2-9 posts bracket, Indonesian is the leader with 50%, while Greek local didn't have such members at all.

Regarding the 10+ posts bracket, Greek board dominates with 57%, while Romanian and French locals both had only 11%.

Merit shared per local board during January 2026

During January, 9717 merit was sent across 18 local boards that are part of this overview, which is a big increase compared to December's 7657 merit. Majority of the local boards had the increase, but majority of it happened on German local that went from only 423 merit sent in December to 1592 in January.

Merit/Post ratio per local board during Janaury 2026

The average merit per post across all local boards that are part of this overview is 0.7, and if I remember correctly it may be the highest average ever.

I didn't think that I will ever say this, but I think that forum at the moment may be over merited. Some parts of the forum and some local boards are imho still undermited, but generally speaking, I am no sure that this is in the best interest of the forum as it may attract account farmers.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during January 2026

In January, 633 members sent while 725 received merit, which is a big increase compared to December (527 senders and 628 receivers). Once again, majority of this happened due Nigerian board, that had their all time high numbers of merit system participants.

Percentage of merited posts across local boards during January 2026

I decided to make this chart again as this time I am using numbers from BitList which I hope calculate percentage of merited posts differently from Merit Dashboard. Situation is at it was in the past-Romanian board at the top with a very high 67% of merited posts, while French at the bottom with only 6%.

And for the end of the overview, list of the most active local boards members. joker_josue from Portuguese bioard is back at the top with 144 posts, klarki from Russian ia at the 2nd with 137 posts while Turkish member mandown, who wrote 135 posts, is at the 3rd spot. Gj guys!

Thank you for another overview of local boards Rikafip.
It's nice to see our local board is one of the most active boards for sending merits.
We could certainly improve in other areas, but we need new fresh members for that.

I think the best place to detect alt account abuse is on local boards. Unless its members agree with that attitude.

I say this because it is there that you can better understand who is who. Knowing writing patterns is posting.

Regarding the matter you raised, we had a similar discussion on a thread in the Italian section, where basically something very similar to a farm of alts was discovered.
Agree, this subject is a different one, and a very important one, so we should discuss it in a dedicated thread, based on the evidence of this one. Here we are to celebrate the relevance of the local boards!
