Agree, this subject is a different one, and a very important one, so we should discuss it in a dedicated thread, based on the evidence of this one. Here we are to celebrate the relevance of the local boards!

True, you are right, this is not the place to go into detail about the issue, but I felt compelled to at least mention it.

Time for yet another brief monthly overview of the local boards activity, this time a little bit later than usual as I was travelling and its pain in the ass to do these kind of things on laptop screen alone. All charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and BitList.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bengali) don't have their own local boards but are part of this overview nevertheless.


Post activity per local board during February 2026

During February, 12919 posts were written across local boards that are part of the overview, which is a noticeable drop compared to January's 13925. Majority of that drop happened on the most active board, Nigerian, whose numbers went down from 4824 in January to 3924 in February. Despite the drop, they are still by far the most active board, followed by Russian and  Turkish.

Active members per local board during February 2026

During the above mentioned period, 1335 members wrote at least one post, which is an expected drop compared to January's 1392. Unsurprisingly, majority of the drop happened on the Nigerian board. It would be ineteresting to hear from someone from their local board (maybe from their local sheriff Igebotz?) what has happened there.

When it comes to the percentage of members who wrote only one post in their board during February, leader is Indian board with 50%, while at the same time Croatian local board had only 14% of such members.

At the 2-9 posts bracket leader is French board with 52%, while Turkish was at the bottom with 36%.

Regarding the 10+ posts bracket, the leader is Portuguese board with 50% of such members, while French is at the bottom with only 5% of the members that wrote 10+ posts during last month.

Merit shared per local board during February 2026

During February, 7901 merit was shared across local boards which is a big drop compared to January during which 9717 merit was shared. This time noy only Nigerian  board is responisble for such a big drop, but basically all the more active and merited boards as well. Despite the drop, I think those are still pretty good numbers.

Merit/Post ratio per local board during February 2026

As it can be seen on the chart, despite the big drop of merit sent, merit per post ratio remained pretty high. Well, at least on the majorify of the boards, while some like Greek, Bengali, Pilipinas and French are still struggling.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during February 2026

During the last month, 535 members sent while 615 members of local boards received merit, which is expectedly a drop compared to January (633 senders, 725 receivers)

Percentage of merited posts across local boards during February 2026

Once again Romanian board remained at the top of this chart, but this time with more realistic (but still very high) 45% merited posts, while Indian and Italian were just behind them. At the same time we have Greek board which is on par with Off Topic and similar boards.

The most active members per local board during February 2026

Last but not the least in this monthly overview, the list of the most active members per local board. mandown from Turkish local has been the most active member with 132 posts, followed by two member from Russian local, Julien_Olynpic  with 121 post and klarki with 119 post. GG guys!

While exploring this brief overview local board activity I noticed that when I clicked on usernames of posters from Pakistan and Bengali board instead of opening their profiles it redirected me to my own profile. After checking, I noticed that uid of those users is missing. This mean that if anyone click on those usernames they will be enter to their own profile instead.

Our local board is somewhere in the middle this time, and there is plenty of room for improvement, but king remains the same

The Portuguese board has been less active lately. So, it ends up having less movement.

But that was also expected, because I've been working on other projects. It's strange sometimes that I still appear in the top 3.

Oh ffs, I forgot to manually sort it out again. I don't know why, but for whatever reason every time Bitlist messes up Pakistan&Bengali links, while for other boards they work ok, even though I am using the same codes. Anyway, it will be sorted out tomorrow, its too late now.

Some rumors going around; saying I'm too strict with my moderations and I keep making them lose signature payments - they're right, the Naija local board is close to achieving a " zero spam" zone.

Yes, since most of the local activity comes from the Nigerian and Russian sections of the forum, a bigger drop in activity from them is reflected in the overall local statistics.
I hope that next month our Nigerian members will be much more active.
It seems to me that we have been quite active in the Croatian section in recent months and I am glad to see that I won the bronze medal lol

I've seen some on the Nigeria board ; I don't have any problem with it since most of our posts are in English, I once wrote on the Indian English board, it only sucks when they use AI to write pidgin and pretended to be native posters.

Btw the post counts; does it include "deleted" posts or "nuted" profiles?

Yeah, BitList counts deleted posts as well. Merit Dashboard doesn't count deleted posts, but it also has its own issues, so its not 100% accurate.

Yes, it does, especially Grok, which can precisely translate English to plain Pidgin without revealing whether the user is native or not. It uses a lot of data from Nigerian X communities to train itself.

The only thing lacking are some deep slangs but not every knows how to use them.

Yeah, BitList counts deleted posts as well. Merit Dashboard doesn't count deleted posts, but it also has its own issues, so its not 100% accurate.

Okay, cause there are usually 59-100 trashed posts per month from the local board.

Jokes apart, I am slowly falling behind in the only chart it matter the most: the top contributor in the Italian board. Hope I can reverse this tendency this month! The old lion is going to roar again!
