Indonesia now seems to be quite behind, because some Source Merit applications have not been accepted so that the merit distribution is very lacking, making some posts less crowded and less attention.
There are actually a lot of quite active members of the old members and new members.

You know the situation in your local board better than me, but looking at it from the outside, ~0.4 merit per post is not bad at all and imho it shouldn't affect activity that much. Its just that many other locals have much higher numbers due the last merit source shuffle so yours now don't look so good. 

As far as I can see, I'm in second place and almost caught up with our local champion in terms of number of posts.
I expect an uncertain competition for first place next month.  

If I remember correctly, you used to beat slackovic from time to time, before you went on a break so I don't see why you couldn't do it again. At least occasionally.

When can we expect the local monthly report on our local board?

Soon, maybe even today. But as Pmalek told you, better not rush me as I don't perform good under pressure.

Now that my Local Board is also more active, more and more new interactions and posts, some new members and old members are also starting to appear to be active.

But yes, as you said, the number of ~0.4 merit per post will be not bad at all, but looking at the merit points of each other Post Board,
we are far behind and of course this will also have an effect, because of the lack of merit distribution in the post that is indeed appropriate.
Meanwhile, I myself have a limited sMerit.

Regardless of the smaller number of active members, the Croatian local board has very good statistics.

It is good that in Croatian section we have revatively stabile number of regular members, who always add up to rise quality of discussion.

I am also happy that SirJohn came back from his hiatus and decided to share his new project with us.

I'd also like to see some fresh blood but for some reason new generations don't seem to be very enthusiastic about Bitcoin.

All in all I'm pretty happy with the status of our local board, there is of course room for improvement, but it is good as it is.

I think the biggest weakness of the system is that it's not rewarding at all for users who send merit. Most merit sources spend their time reading and evaluating posts, but the only thing they get in return is why did you send merit to them and not me type of messages. Users also have no real motivation to spend the merit they earn. A lot of users see it as a chore. Very few people actually use the system properly. This eventually leads to a bottleneck.

Actually I was late to make a merit source application at that time, after Theymos received a lot of merit source from other locals, a month later I created my own application.
But the merit source application from some of my local Members that was made first did not get a response, There are 2 merit sources actually submitted.
And now me and @AakZaki are filing a new one.

I think the biggest weakness of the system is that it's not rewarding at all for users who send merit. Most merit sources spend their time reading and evaluating posts, but the only thing they get in return is why did you send merit to them and not me type of messages. Users also have no real motivation to spend the merit they earn. A lot of users see it as a chore. Very few people actually use the system properly. This eventually leads to a bottleneck.

Spending time evaluating each post and it's a bit tedious, but if there's already an active Source Merit on each Local Board it's easier to determine which ones are really appropriate.
But some people abuse this system for their own circles, but it is easy to detect.

If you ever end up short on merit, you can PM me every once in a while and I'll control worthy posts. I like helping out on other local boards.

Yes, our Croatian part of the forum has truly become a pleasant and friendly place for socializing, communicating and exchanging information over the years.
We have all known each other for years and I have met some of them in person.
Unfortunately, there are no new members, but I would not say that this is due to a decline in interest in bitcoin, but more due to the general trend of a decline in interest in online forums and a focus on social networks, while answers are sought on Google or AI tools lately.

Dunno, but to me it seems easy. I see a post that I think is merit worthy, and I merit it. No saving up in case I see a better post, no overthinking. Just getting rid of the merit fast, so like 99% of the time I don't have any merit to send. The only exception is when I get a bunch in a short period of time, like in the last few days.

Then again, I am not a merit source so I don't know how much harder it would be if I had to send a few hundred merit each month, and for a longer period of time.

Everybody can send 1,000 merits once, but doing so consistently and without incurring criticism is difficult.
Every merits source handles this with various strategies, and, of course, each has pros and cons.
I tend to believe that every method is good if it works for the merit source herself.

True, sending 1k merit month after month must be tiresome, but how many members are like that on the forum? I can only think of a few who could have that kind of allocation.

I've been missing those legendary DdmrDdmr merit sprees.

DdmrDdmr still updates his threads in the forum but beyond posting for updates, he has been no longer actively posting since the CM closure of their campaign here but his merit distribution is crazy with the distribution speed by his bot.

It can be more easily if you bookmark a thread of DdmrDdmr about his merit spree, then anytime you want to have a reference, you will be able quickly find it.

I don't remember ever receiving messages like that. Even if I did, I wouldn't bother explaining myself.

I think the easiest way to approach sending merits as a merit source is to do it in the same subforum and threads you are currently browsing. If I am reading topics and writing in Meta today, that's also where I will distribute my source merits. I don't set aside a time that I use exclusively for merit distribution which is different from my posting. I unite the two activities and distribute merits while posting.

So you are one of those that don't bring laptops on your holidays? Every year I say I won't bring mine because I barely touch it when I am at holiday, but then at the last minute I pack it anyway.

That's the only way that makes sense. Otherwise, its just a waste of time.
