[CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity

Its time for another brief overview of local boards activity, and this time for August 2026.  All charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and Bitlist.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bengali) don't have their own local boards yet, but are part of this overview nevertheless.


Post activity per local board during August 2026

During August, 15130 posts were written across local boards, which is an increase compared to July's numbers (13938 posts). Majority of this increase happened on three most active boards, but some others like Spanish had noticeable increase compared to previous month. French unfortunately continued declining and now its maybe at all time low numbers, or very close to it.

Active members per local board during August 2026

Despite the increase in number of posts, active members went down from 1298 in July to 1265 in August. Nigerian boards keeps dominating this chart, with only Russian being somewhat close to them.

When it comes to the percentage of members who wrote only 1 post in their board during last month, leader is French board with 80% of such members, while at the same time Croatian had the lowest percentage, only 11%.

At the 2-9 posts bracket leader is Greek board with 56% while French had only 13% of such members.

Regarding the 10+ posts bracket, leader is Croatian board with 56% while French had only 7%.

Merit shared per local board during August 2026

During August, 7218 merit was sent across 18 local boards that are part of this overview, and is a big increase compared to July's numbers (5818). Majority of this increase happened on Germna board, that went from 612 merit sent in July to 1510 in August, almost beating Nigerians at the top.

Merit/Post ratio per local board during August 2026

In May, an average merit per post across local boards was 0.48, which is an increase compared to July's 0.42 merit per post. This time we have Polish board sticking out, but as seen from their last 12 month ratio, last month's was just an exception, and such a big difference can happen on less active boards.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during August 2026

During last month, 562 members sent while 598 received merit which is an expected increase compared to July (509 senders, 588 receivers). Needless to say which local boards dominates this chart as well.

Percentage of merited posts across local boards during August 2026

Romanian board remained at the top of this chart with very high 58% of merited posts, but Italian also has a high number, especially considering the fact that its one of the more active local boards on the forum.

This time top 3 most active local boards members all come from the same board, Russian. klarki is at the top with 162, while jokers10 and numberal both wrote 135 posts.  GG.

Thanks Rikafip for another interesting report.
I'm glad to see that the downward trend in activity has stopped and that we have a significant increase in the number of posts and even greater growth in shared merits which is great news.
I see that in our local Croatian section there has been a change at the top and we can say that the king is back. 
I'm also eagerly awaiting our local report, soon I believe?

Since summer is over, so I expect even better numbers in the next overview. I think majority of members are not like fillippone, who is more active during holiday season.

I honestly don't remember the last time you were left out of the top 3. I guess you became a little bit complacent, but I have no doubt you'll be back in the top 3 in the next overview.

I know we had better days in forum but things should improve in next few months, now that summertime is officially over in big part of the world.
Question I want to ask is, if recent controversial sigban initiative had any effect on local boards.
I know our local board is fine, but we had one local clown who retired (again) recently, and now he is promoting gold instead of lightning network

If you check list of Signature Banned Users, you will see that majority of them wrote 90%+ of the posts outside of their local boards, so I don't expect a big drop, unless some of the less active boards gets a couple of members sig banned.
Also, some of those that got sig bans probably reactivated their alts, or are already ranking up with new ones, so that also might affect the numbers.

Yep, we are one of the local boards that didn't have any sig bans yes, and honestly I am not surprised by that. I hope I didn't jinx us now though.

I agree, it would be interesting to see it but at the same time, it would also be very hard to do (at least for someone as lazy as me).

First, you would have to check users one by one, since on Bitlist only the top 3 most active boards are mentioned. And also, as I said in my previous post, many of them are probably more active on their alt accounts now and that would also affect the numbers.

Thank you Rikafip for yet another great report. It is unfortunate that I didn't yet again find myself in the Top 10 of our local Croatian board, we have some serious names there and it is not easy but I makes me fell good when I reach the Top 10 mark, will give it all in the next mouth.

I believe that maybe sig. ban initiative could be reflected in the number of merits sent within the local board. However, the awarding of merit is under less scrutiny when it happens locally.
All the same, it is to be expected that all farmers who exploit the campaigns will now start with new accounts, so they will replace the missing number of posts.

Since a few members (dkbit98, fillippone) expressed interest in how recent sig bans have affected local boards (and since I had some free time on my hands and was also curious) I went through list of sig banned users to identify how many sig banned users each local board has so far. As a timeframe to identify local board members, I took the last 120 days.

So, out of 217 sig banned users so far, 58 were active in local boards and out of 18 local boards that are part of this overview, 9 had member(s) banned. The results are kind of expected, as the biggest local board had the highest number of sig banned users, but I was surprised to see that the second largest local board (Russian) has only 1 so far. Since I did it manually, I could have made a mistake or two, but nothing that would change the chart drastically.

I'm interested in seeing the effect of sigbanned users on each board. The number of sigbanned users for each board is a start. It would be interesting to see how many posts and merits those users were involved in over the last few months. Run your reports again without including those users.
