Negative nancies everywhere! https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/715/717/e27.jpeg
It's been 5 months and nobody's answered his question.

Step 1 - Download their whitepaper and their website and node's source code.
Step 2 - Do a "find and replace" from their name to your name. Cite their whitepaper in your whitepaper and license.
Step 3 - Make new genesis block.
Step 4 - Compile and run node.
Step 5 - Launch website.
Step 6 - List it on an exchange and wait for the cash to start rolling in.  Grin

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Don't waste your time in that kind of projects just move on to the next and maybe you'll be in to get a good one.

Add some tempting offers and try to catch top exchange with reduce the supply for the new currency and set the price higher than before. I think death coins can be re-marketed but scam schemes can never come back in a new way.

In my opinion, better create a new project to develop rather than to restart dead altcoin. Why? It's best to create unique ideas in your project that has real usage in a ways that it could attract the investors. Also a new project could bring good impression to the users or investors. Think of the best that your project will be successful.

Hi,

I see lots of abandoned crypto projects with potential and lets say I am interested in one of them and want to keep the devlopment going. What should I do to achieve that?
Do I need to talk to the creators of the project?

Looking for some insight on it.

Thanks
Abandoned projects got abandoned for a reason, you need to find that out first, the old owner might have used the coin for pump and dump or scam investors, if this is the case then there is no reputations let for such project, better to ignore and build yours from ground up

The next project must also be examined first, do not immediately make choices if we do not know the background of the new projects at this time, because at this time there are not many successful projects, even if some do not last long.

This is great suggestion. Ive noticed a lot of dead project returning and some of them have succesfully manage to go back. Like coti, this one I thought is long dead project but now due to defi hype its one of the project that performance is highly good and comparable to new projects. I dont know about the other shitcoin but this will be a tempting method for scammer reviving their old failure one.

A dead project is very hard to bring back everyone's trust and I have never seen a dead project come back to life either. if you do have funds and a team you should create a new project with the concept you want

You might end up failing too, most of the dead project had been left by their investors already. It's difficult to gain investors' trust once a coin already died. This might even cost you a lot of money to revive a project since you will have to shoulder all the cost for the development and even pay the team for using their concept and idea. It would be better if you will create your own project and your own team.

Most important is that you gather a good team, ready to work to develop the idea from the start. If you have some capital it will make everything better, but I think that rising a project from the start to the end can be
achieved with sale, IEO or ICO, so without starting capital, but the team should be prepared for waiting before they start earning some money from that.

First of all, it all depends on the type of the project you're having interest in whether it's an altcoin (Coin/Token) or a cryptocurrency related platform as the things may have bigger variations. If it's a coin or a token then you must get in touch with the old owners to get the code or maybe you need to take a look in Github whether the code is clean and valid or not, i think you should make the same steps for the coins and try to open a new or get acces to the telegram, discord and the other social media channels of the coin as an Admin not a normal user. If the project is a platform then you must get in touch with the old owners in order to backup or get access to the platform admin control panel, database, etc.
It's not easy but it's possible, you just need some luck on your side and lots of hard work in order to achieve a success.

Still, I can't believe some of my favorite projects were dead, only because of the dead market. Anyone can be interested in any of these projects. I don't think we can start developing any of these projects without the permission of the main team members. Because the projects development right, if you believe in the good future of these projects.

I think you could look for a dead project which code is open source and on github.
Then you can just copy the code and start from there.
But of course you would technically making a fork then and not a real restart, for that you would need to contact the team of the dead coin first i guess.

for you to be able to start it, first you need to go to the community especially to those who hold this coin. if there are so many members then you can start talking to them about what you will gonna with the project. some projects are not worth continuing if they are dead and the dev team abandons them just right after they sold their coins. people might think that it is going to be the same. so just braced your self  Grin

A fork is highly recommended many members are also recommending it so you will have the whole supply and swap those who invested in the old projects you need to send the coins in place for the old one so you can enjoy their support, or else they will FUDD your new coin.

There is no reason to restart a dead coin because people have already lost the trust in that coin. If you want to develop a coin, it is better that you start with a fresh coin and gain the trust. No one will be investing in the dead coin and risk their money, even though a new team have taken over the project.

The best thing to do is to talk to the owner of the project, gather more information as regards the project, funds required, reasons for abandoning and a way forward to develop the project.

Of course those projects are always looking for people to help the project go up, if you have enough requirements then of course you can, first contact the seo of that project and prove you are capable.

Surprised to see so many new replies. I fail to understand the logic behind any such move. Why should anyone revive a dead coin? Any potential gains are going to be minimal (unless he is able to accumulate the vast majority of the circulating supply). In 99.99% of the cases, the best thing to do is to start a new project, which would give a considerable pre-mine to the team and the promoters.

True, even if he able to accumulate the coin when it was nearly dead and try to revive to maximize his gain in case the project survived and revived, I sure most new investors don't like to be in someone's coin where he already takes the majority of the circulating supply. Really, just take that dead coin's ideas or source codes and make a new coin on your own.
