Airdrops may not be considered a scam but it is considered a huge waste of time because there is a low to no chance that you may able to sell your tokens.
I have joined numerous airdrops already and sent some ETH to them just to get the tokens. In my experience, all of them gave the tokens to us as a promise after we sent some ETH but there has no value of the token at all. Isn't it considered a scam? We gave a coin which has a value in exchange to a token which doesn't have any value at all?

On the other side, yes there are some airdrop tokens that luckily have a value and they are being listed on some shitty exchanges. The question is can you sell it at a high price?? Probably you can sell just enough to get the ETH you sent to them back. That's all.

Overall, not profitable and a waste of time for me. Period.

That's because you don't know which airdrop to choose. I know a lot of people have become rich with just airdrops, in 2017 and 2018 they made tens of thousands of dollars by airdrops, each airdrop gives them a lot of money.

Going back in 2017 where some airdrops are really worth to join on when market is mooning
but those golden days were long time gone and always remember that everything ask out for some funds just for a particular reason then its 101% scam. If you can afford to waste a lot of time to find a lucky one then be it, but know that there are actually a lot of things you can do to earn crypto, you just need to explore it. Remember before joining, look at the original project whether it was indeed released from the original project because now many airdrops are imitating or faking from the original project. However, there is so many threads about Airdrop, better to read them as well to know more very well. Just use search button from forum.

No, airdrops are not a complete waste of time especially if they do not ask for KYC or personal data. Most of them only ask for share or repost on social media and that is all. You have nothing to lose with this ones.

this week i join alot of airdrops . they were all telegram bots . and most(like 99% of them) of them ask for transaction fee as eth at the end of airdrop.
let me tell you what i think and who is going to win this game!!!!

Avoid any airdrop asking you for ETH or any other form of payment before sending you the token.

Airdrops used to worth the attention but nowadays it requires very high degree of patience and due diligence to get the right ones hence why most people call it waste of time. That is, no matter how the airdrop looks like, always ensure to check the neccessary information such as the team, their community etc to be sure you aren't wasting your time. Also, any airdrop asking for payment or asking for transaction fee etc is scam, and be careful of most airdrops asking for kyc.

i will say airdrops are 99% fail......many of those airdrops wont pay anything...some that will pay dont have any value of those coins in the market and even there is some value it will be only few cents and you need to pay transaction fee also to trade with them and also many other kind of withdrawal charges from the exchanges and at the end they will also become worthless

If you are sending Ethereum before you collect  your tokens, then it is not airdrops again, it is the same ICO model that is being used.

The real Airdrop has no risk, if the value goes up in future you win, if not you have nothing to lose.

The issue I have now is that there are thousands of them, which is becoming  increasing difficult to identify which one is a scam

Most airdrops are just wasting time. Maybe one out of ten you will hit a really good airdrop with high reward enough to offset for your time but man, 1/10 is very unlikely.

We know some only airdrops are worth it to spend your time and advertise it because you can get a good reward once it legit .
But the bad side of the airdrops after several months of promoting their project you waste your time once the project is failed or if it's scam. Airdrops is look like a bounty campaign because they are same because they a lot of scam but only some is legit

Yeah, the reward you will get is not worth the time and effort your going to exert on that airdrop, better to do other things like trading where you can surely get profit. Most of airdrops now will just hype you in the beginning but after a while it will just slowly vanished or stop working so don't waste your tine waiting for that. But if you are really going for airdrops then you should be patience for you'll see lots of airdrops but find the good one.

for now most airdrops are a waste of time, for example airdrops from exchanges that offer token utilities or other tokens but participants are required to do kyc on their exchanges and there is also a bit of anomaly here because the minimum withdrawal applied by exchange is very unnatural so I think it's a bit risky if followed and it is strongly recommended not to follow if estimation of this airdrops is too low for your personal data, for airdrops from a telegram bot some airdrop still good just have to be a little observant because aidrop scam aridrops from telegram bot is very much.

Well i never join any airdrop since day 1 i start doing bounty. Somehow i dont really trust about airdrop and i think its just wasting of time. I hear some airdrop give profit and other scam like bounty project. Doing bounty project is enough for me i dont want waste my time doing airdrop.

They continue to arrive with various offers, we are increasingly confused to identify genuine airdrops and fraudulent airdrops. According to my observations, currently very few is interested in joining the airdrop, besides difficult to distinguish between genuine airdrops and fake airdrops, the results obtained from airdrops are very few.
indeed airdrop is not at risk, but if our choices are wrong, our time will automatically be wasted.

During my initial days, I used to participate in the airdrops very enthusiastically. Back in 2017 and 2018, almost 90% of the airdrops used to be unrewarding. But then, there was the remaining 10% which would give valuable cryptocurrency holdings to noobs like me. Back then, such airdrops used to mean a lot for me. However after mid-2018, the reward rate dropped quite a lot and it was no longer worth spending time and effort in these airdrops.

If bounty is not paying well again, how do you expect airdrop to be profitable. When you participate in such airdrop, you will discover that the reward that you are given is not going to be enough to pay for transaction fee. The era of good paying airdrop like deeponion has passed. Both bounty and airdrop are theoretically dead

You wanna push your thought on ourselves that's ok. I really can't see anything in here, in last 2 years how much did you earned by joining airdrop after golden time. Don't worry I can guess and it isn't more worth 100-200 USD in two years. Any smart people can't think this money isn't wasting your time.

From my point of you yes. Doing some tasks and grabbing few coins is good thing but getting into hands of scammed projects and even if project is not scam, the huge delay in destribution is definitely I feel waste of time.
