Quote
Without these altcoins, we would never have concepts such as smart contracts and completely anonymous transactions.

Bitcoin invented smart contracts in 2009 and is the biggest smart contract platform in the world with the most developers, no matter what centralized eth scammers say. Just search github. LN literally runs on smart contracts, dex's and atomic swaps were on bitcoin since 2013 due to smart contracts. All of ethereum's success is from lying about their decentralization and taking credit for others implementations.

Not all coins are altcoins too. Monero is a legitimate altcoin with intelligent developers that created decentralized network with unique anon transactions.

Ethereum is not a cryptocurrency, it's not an altcoin, it's not a decentralized network because its developers are either idiots or scammers that designed it centralized via premine. This isn't debatable.

Do not confuse dislike of ethereum as dislike of altcoins because ethereum is not relevant to this field in any way shape or form.

This is how stupid ethereum scam is:

Consider centralized scams lying about your safety bad, best example of which is ethereum, the exact opposite of Bitcoin or altcoins.

Bitcoin and altcoins have a common enemy - malicious bad actors like ethereum vitalik's premine, zcash trusted setup backdoor, iota coordinators.

They have been explained how not to scam since 2014, and our mistake was treating them as rational people, but they are not - they are scammers, treat them only like scams, and do not let them call themselves cryptocurrencies or altcoins, they are literally not, 1 central trusted party in control is a property of all those projects by design, not debatable, which makes their promoters scammers and illiterate with no exceptions.

The question is why do some people generalize all Altcoins as bad? considering there are over 3000 of them out there. One would not have the time to go through each project one by one. to analyze the project. team etc everything behind each crypto project.
There has to be some project out there under good intentions. Not all projects could be a scam. I admit I only have a top 4 i consider when it comes to best coins. But yet many should be decent at least honest projects out there. Afterall we do need more projects. more quality projects out there in order for crypto to succeed.

your thoughts

A lot of people rate Altcoins bad because they have experienced several investment of theirs gone wrong.

I do not agree with you on time to analyse project, because as an investor, your core priorities is to invest right, which means you need to use as many time as possible to ensure that you make the right call on projects to invest upon.

Always dyor, and altcoins are bigger than the top 4

Many people consider altcoin bad because of the many scams that occur. Many tokens circulating in the market, the price is far below the ICO price and this makes many people consider altcoin as a high risk investment.
its only happen on shit project with unclear roadmap or product for their ecosystem. many altcoin projects as speculation projects that might be the developers team want to take money from investors, and oddly enough investors want to speculate too. they thinking someday will take alot profit after listing in market and dev team able to create FOMO.

Agree, scam projects tend to be like pump and dump projects and this makes investors lose money to buy tokens at high prices. When prices reach the highest price, usually the developer team dumps its tokens so that there is an oversupply in the market which makes the price drop. Such projects usually do not have products and only last no more than a year since the initial listing

Not all altcoin is bad, many altcoins in the market have someway proven to be very good. They have been existing for years and still waxing strong. Many altcoins can only be bad if proven to be so. Many who rate altcoin bad may not have done good research before investing, and when they loose to one or two, all others becomes same.  Point is, before you invest in any altcoin, be sure to have carried out research on the coin. Not all altcoin is bad.

Do not blame only investors. The developers of most alternative coins also see in their projects only in a speculative nature.
But I agree with you that it depends on the investors which project will receive the investment. In this case, investors should always choose projects related to the real sector of the economy and business.

Project with real deals and reason to exist from this industry, there are lots of projects around which are intended to have a better cause but surviving
from this types of economy is really tough to any developers. Support from communities are very important if they provide  reasonable promises and
keep the investors in the right track then surely the chance to survive will be there.
