Do you keep track of your gambling? how?

I think keeping a record in gambling is useless because there are some gamblers who don't bother themselves, even they already lost thousands of dollars. But if a person would like to track his record in gambling, it will be easier if he only bring the same amount of profit when he is about to gamble.

I think it is not very useful if you really do not think too much about the money you use, but it's good when you keep all the history of gambling with the nominal that you use so you can find out the total profit and loss you have ever made from gambling.

It depends on what you are playing because there are situations which you would need to tally up to track if you do profit or not specially when are doing sports betting but if we do play luck based ones then i dont see a point for you to track everything because we know that losses would be more into these kind of games thats why its pointless on doing such act.Its true that it will just trigger you out on to play more when you do saw that you are lose up that much and tending to play just to break even which is really a bad idea.So its not really that suggested specially on gambling aspect.

Yeah, the same I do as you do. When searching for an entertainment it's always comes with a price. Investment is different from paying your happiness and this is the only time you can enjoy your time after those stressful week of work. And that's right, always bring the money that you can afford to lose and don't even think about of chasing your losses because you are not playing to make some money but to enjoy.

When I do online betting I first consider my salary I will separate it and use it no matter if I win or lose. I just do online gambling for fun and during my spare time. If youre doing sports then tracking wont be a bad idea but if you are just dicing then its nonsense.Gambling is for fun and allocating
a small portion of your money is a suggested thing to be done as always.It isnt needed for you to track if you are losing or winning
as long you do able to get the entertainment you seek and thats how it counts but majority cant really easily satisfy themselves
thats why they do play even more and mess up everything.

I hope you don't have a passion for recovering your losses in gambling after you check your file because if you do that, I think that can attract you to come and play another game. I think you don't have to look at your file for the therapy because you can use the other material to cure your addiction. After all, that can trigger your sad feeling.

clearly in the Bold part mate and it is not easy to deny the call of betting when you are already addicted and this must be respected.

Keeping track means you are timely monitoring it, not that you look at your past performance and regret on it, you should regret timely, otherwise you'll spend all your money and you'll only give up because you don't have money to gamble anymore, which I think tracking does not serve the purpose.

For me, I track because I want to make a timely decision, so I can stop or still continue.

there are no assurance on winning in gambling but it doesnt mean that we need
to stop even if we are mostly losing .
There are gamblers that is just enjoying the game even if they are losing most
of the time but yet people have their reason to stay.
But we have our own way of how we are in this habits,so let us respect each others.

I also find it hard to find the reason about the topic because i have never

First off, I never see it as an investment, in the material sense of the word. I'm not planning on making money with gambling. On the other hand it is an investment, investment in my good mood, and thus I allocate some money for it respectively. Doing that in my head, no spreadsheets, no physical notebooks, nothing. I rely on my memory in that regard. And all in all I spend on gambling something around worth of 2-3 movie tickets, monthly.

When betting on sports, you can make notes in the spreadsheet on your computer...  But that's if you're betting on different sites...
If you bet on one site, you can always see your statistics there!

It is way better to keep track of that information yourself, I know it is more work and no one wants to do it but what would you do if the website in which gambled suddenly disappeared and you were unable to look at those statistics? While many would not care about the loss of such information in my opinion it is very important since it is a way to never get addicted to gambling as you would see any increase in your losses immediately and reduce your gambling if necessary.

And it is the hard truth. You may deny it if you wish to keep yourself happy about th losses but it is the truth and ones needs to learn to deal with it, that is accept their losses and start to rectify their ways.

we are treating gambling like business where we tally our income and expenses, and as a businessman with a sound mind, when a business is already not profitable, you will be force to stop it to prevent further damage, same thing goes with gambling, you are likely doing the bookkeeping.

Also a reason why gamblers rarely keep their records of gambling. It hurts them to see how much they lost and so they lose interest in it and dont want to dig in further. Its a type of introspection but has no good feelings involved. If you are doing it for sports betting then it is essential, but dice game players who are in it for the rush will never have the patience to sit down and record their transactions.

i don't track my gambling investment since im not a gambling person i only do it once or twice a month , just to relax because you need it to stress out ,
but lots of people don't track what they spend, but in my experience in my friends they always count their winnings but not their losses , i just smile and think to myself you lost a lot last time, but for them they thought they get what they lost the last time.

Hey, that is happening with some of my friends too. I guess perhaps, they don't like to see they're lost before, so they don't count how much money they lose. I think that is normal if they do that because if they count or write they're lost, that can make them feel sad, and that can make them chase their losses by playing more and more. That can be a good lesson for us that we don't need to count how much our winning or losing because we only want to enjoy our time in gambling, and we don't have a reason to make money from gambling.

No, because I think it is unnecessary to record my gambling every time I play. Seeing the history or the outcome of my gambling will only give me stress and it might be the trigger for me to chase my losses and will lead to losing more money later on.

I agree with you. I think it much better not to track your gambling and I think there is no reason to do that. For me I can't maintain it. So it will be a waste of time. But of course there are some who still track their gambling. My mother did. She used it as a basis when she play his next lottery game. She analyses number to be able to figure out what number she will used.

Just calculating it in my own head. I can look into history of my deposits and withdrawals to poker site and then look at my current balance. The difference will be the needed separation 

Also, for gambling i can separate not more than 1 % of my budget for month. Because mostly, i lose it, so send something bigger will be just wasting money.
