There are plenty of threads made regarding this subject matter and you are free to check them out by simply typing keywords related to ranking up. But to somewhat give you the idea before going to those topics. There's this thing called "Merit", it is sort of a point given by other users in this forum if ever they would like your post or topic created perhaps. It is kind of a "like" or "heart" system just like in social media platforms. Each rank has a required merit needed in order to move to the next one.

Another thing is the 'activity'. Based from my understanding it has something to do with the number of posts you have made and how long your account is created, which represents your account being active, makes sense of the term "activity".

Sometimes, they would start or give a topic and you would share your idea, about it, but those ideas that deserves merit are those that would fit their "standard" of 'quality'.
