And now there is rumors that there is going to be a Solana ETF. Asset management company Franklin Templeton does think it will happen.

Looking at the price right now, I wish I went in when I thought it was “a bit high”, and actually held my coins till now. But no regrets because it’ll happen to me someother way. I still believe it could be worth a lot more and it’s one of the coins that I respect, looking at its blockchain and what use case it’s supplying to many other projects, it’s definitely worth it all. Solana is the VCs' coin. It will "pump" massively after the next bull market run. If the project is able to provide real use cases to the world (instead of being solely driven by hype), it could cross its ATH and maintain high prices for a long time. And lets not forget the potential approval of a Solana spot ETF by the SEC. That could drive prices even higher. Probably all the way to "Mars".

Perhaps SOL will go as far as becoming the third-largest cryptocurrency by market cap? Only time will tell. Just keep buying, and holding, and forget about the rest.

Investing in altcoin is a picky thing because many of the projects in altcoin are shits or scams. Shit because they perform well only for the short time frame and when the trend of going up ends these coins starts to play shits.

Solana is a good project but nobody knows any coming project like this that can return a big profit to investors so accurately. I like a lot of things about Solana, but definitely not it's reliability.  That being said, I could see it being very useful for metaverse and NFT projects if Ethereum gets too expensive to use and people want a different tech.  The only thing that really puts me off to Solana (centralization and reliability aside) is that the price has gone up so much.  You have to wonder how much upside there is remaining.  With a valuation in the tens of billions, expectations are already pretty high.  Had I bought in before the recent run from $15-$100 I would be feeling good holding, but it's worrisome to buy after such a large run.

I understand their battle in terms of Dapps, etc. But I don’t feel like Ethereum blockchain still has a say in the battle because Solana seems to offer a lot. I’m not saying it’s dead but Ethereum blockchain felt dead to me when the gas fee really went ridiculously high a couple of years back. I haven’t done a transaction in a long time but I feel like I’m done with Ethereum blockchain. Projects had to start creating their BSC variant back then since that was more prevalent at the time.

It's always about the hype. That's what moves Solana all the way to the moon. Why do you think it rose to the triple digits lately? That's because the sale of the Saga phone and the BONk airdrop had a positive impact on SOL's market price. I can't imagine the Jupiter airdrop will "pump" Solana to new heights.

Ultimately, what matters is usability. Not the price. If Solana is able to provide real use cases to the world, then it will have a high chance of surviving for generations. Otherwise, not. I'm yet to see if it will be able to directly compete with ETH in the future. That's assuming the SOL blockchain doesn't experience another outage. Crypto land often behaves in many strange and bizarre ways, so we should expect the unexpected.

Yet, Solana is still one of the top 5 coins in market cap. With so many outages, the project should've been dead by now. I can't understand why people are still buying this coin when it's unreliable for day-to-day payments. Neither Bitcoin nor Ethereum have faced an interruption since the day they were launched. Solana's current situation shows us it's experimental and not ready for mainstream use. Developers should've kept Solana in "beta stage" until it passed all of the tests.

If SOL hasn't gone to $0 by now, it's because whales are manipulating the market. For some reason, VCs want to keep this "shitcoin" alive. I'd prefer a reliable and decentralized network like Ethereum, even if I have to pay higher fees and wait longer for confirmations. Unless Solana prioritizes decentralization and reliability, don't expect it to last a lifetime. Who knows what surprises we'll find in the future?

I don't agree with you about the comparison between Solana and ETH. Solana will be more popular with many people in the future than ethereum, even though the prices of the two are very different, but when many people complain about the expensive fees paid for ethereum, it doesn't hurt to hold or invest in solana. everything is fast and cheap, let's see the light that shines from Solana in 2024
