Found this topic as interesting. As i can see Op asked about sol around 4 years ago. And finally we can see that solana have kept its promise. Years ago, it was facung some issues and that's why it dumped a lot and many were assumed it dead but i like the way as sol come back and hit century by its price. Solana now become improving themselves in scalability, problem solving, their functionality also increasing with days. It hard to guess but many already added sol as their most trusted altcoins list what would be worth in future

Well I do think Solana is still a good coin to hodl. And now it is price of $160 it is a good time to invest in it before it goes back to $200.

what can we expect some people consider ETF to be the more legitimate and safer way to invest to crypto of course these big institutional investment companies will take the chance to profit off that.
regarding solana ETF it definitely has big chance of some company filling up ETF proposal rumour says VanEck already on its way to do this, but we're not sure until they make announcement but this current ETF approval of ETH does indeed opens a way for other altcoin for their long awaited ETF as if its another milestone, back then the milestone was getting listed in various exchange now its ETF, the obviously normal change of narratives.

in regard of the network outage I heard there been commit to the testnet of solana but i don't know whether that could solve the problem, i might be mistaken though but the Co founder already said they have the solution to it already on the work https://decrypt.co/111486/solana-co-founder-long-term-fix-network-outages it was in 2022, 2 years after, still the same outage.

That "long-term" fix to the network outages is the release of a third-party node software named "Firedancer". It was supposed to be released this summer. If successfully implemented, it could make Solana a reliable alternative to existing smart contract platforms (mainly Ethereum).

And yes, people are always "following the money". Now that ETH spot ETFs are approved, it's likely Solana spot ETFs will come into fruition. Long-term speaking, this should mean higher prices for SOL if approved. It's "Wall Street's game" now. As long as there's money being poured into Solana, don't expect it to go anywhere soon.

So now Solana is a security while Ethereum is not? Pure hipocrisy from the SEC. By definition, ETH is a security. But the SEC backed down on its claims due to fear from giants like BlackRock and VanEck. "Money talks", right? So if these giants show their interest in SOL, you can bet the SEC will give the "green light" for the launch of spot ETFs. I'm not so sure about XRP and the others.

Who needs ETFs anyways? SOL experienced gains without "Wall Street" in the game. Just like both BTC and ETH. I'm sure it will do fine without spot ETFs. Rest assured that if they're approved by the SEC, market prices will go higher at a fast pace. A true win for "hodlers" of the cryptocurrency. Let's see what happens in the long run.

Solana did have a good week and investors got some big gains. It is up 11 percent in just now the last 7 days. A SOL token now costs $157 and now it is setting to next make the price of $164.
I do hope this current 'bullish' price does stay like this. I am still hodling some of them and it does not seem like it was so long ago price was $200. I do think we will see that price sometime again soon.

Well SOL is now the only coin in the top 10 coinmarketcap that is in profits for this last 7 days. It is up more then 2 percent during this correction period for Bitcoin.
Solana is still rewarding hodlers with big gains. It is still up 670% from 1 year ago. And there is some 'bullish' signs that we are going to see a new ath for this token.

It's scalable alright. But completely unreliable. If you want a good, long-term investment, I'd suggest you look elsewhere. Solana is only great for short-term profits and quick trades. It's becoming the #1 hub for "meme" coins. If the trend continues, the SOL blockchain will turn into garbage.

Don't get me wrong, though. The tech is promising. But what good does it make if the core network is centralized and unreliable? As it's said in the real world, "you get what you pay for". The crypto market is unpredictable, so expect the unexpected.

There's competition that is coming up that might put solana into difficult position though and it's ton blockchain.
although solana has really good scalability and undeniably the network is really cheap too fee-wise but ton blockchain also present the same thing. heck even the two has similarity which is occasional blockchain freezing.

but although solana is really trending and much of it coming from the meme trend, but never forget that too much shitcoin and rampant scamming will turn the blockchain into a blockchain that people despise and in my opinion solana is reaching that point right now, so many scam and shit coin is too much to bear.

but since it's permissionless blockchain and anyone can release whatever shitcoin idea they have, i guess there's no telling whether this shitcoin trend will stop eventually.

What do you think about memes coming off to TRON, will it push Solana to change things up for it to stay afloat and not lose too much from such a booming market for degens? (though, unreliable in fact )

Solana will be slowly left by degens that jump to TON and TRON, in my opinion, and this hole better be prepared for, both in innovation and utility projects pumping. I think it's possible and viable
