What do you think about memes coming off to TRON, will it push Solana to change things up for it to stay afloat and not lose too much from such a booming market for degens? (though, unreliable in fact )

TRON might've gained traction recently. But Solana is still the preferred platform for "meme" coins. It's faster and cheaper than TRON. Not to mention, Solana has better tooling and a larger ecosystem than its rival. Eventually, the hype will fade away leaving TRX behind in the dust.

What's been keeping Solana afloat are none other than VCs and whales. You can see this is the case when past network outages had almost no effect over SOL's market cap. It's still the 5th largest cryptocurrency in the world. Sometimes it surpasses BNB's market cap, becoming the 4th largest coin in the world. Who cares, right? What matters is decentralization, censorship-resistance, and most of all, security/reliability. Both BTC and ETH meet such criteria. If you don't mind about this, then Solana is for you. Otherwise, I'd suggest you look elsewhere. Crypto land is full of surprises, isn't it?

forget about TRON i think people with the right mind won't say that meme coin is switching over to TRON, it's just full of random pump orchestrated by someone behind the scene.

the problem that i've observed from tron meme is just the only meme that actually make it big is just sundog, the rest are just short lived meme coin just for pump and dump exactly like current pumpfun scheme but just worse and less capital inflow.

though can't deny that both memes pump and dump scenes are just as bad. but I will prefer to trade meme in solana knowing that it's far from sun's domination with his big money.

With a shill like Justin Sun behind TRON, we should expect the worse. It's a "pump and dump" scheme. Solana is far more innovative than TRON. It's even faster and cheaper to use for daily payments. I'd expect it to become the #1 platform for "meme" tokens in the long run. TRON just copies whatever is trending to try get a "piece of the pie". Remember when DAI stablecoin was highly popular? TRON copied MakerDao by making its very own collaterized and decentralized stablecoin called USDD. Even Justswap is a direct clone of Uniswap.

I'd expect the hype surrounding TRX to fade quickly. But not SOL. If VCs and institutions continue to invest in it, the project will reach new heights. I understand network outages are a problem. A little "tweaking" here and there should solve this once and for all. In fact, Jump Crypto's "Firedancer" node implementation for Solana is starting to become a widespread success. Devs claim it will end network outages for good. I'd give it some time to see if that will be the case. Exciting times ahead for Solana and the entire crypto/Blockchain industry.

yes, indeed Tron has increased in the market but it needs to be known because the changes are very fast, with this solana still has the expected advantages and has the expected level of resistance and is easily accessible to various users and that is what makes many of its followers.

There are lotsss of stories of him doing something shady.
Thus, TRON doesn't receive good feedback or goes on hate-train, even if staking it is pretty gud and wasn't a problem since 2017.

It's undeniable that solana's meme community is solid, even today people are still using solana for memes heavily, but doesn't mean the meme trend will just gonna stay in solana forever though, factually speaking meme settles in solana ecosystem in the first place because the scalability, tx fee, and speed is awesome, but so does the new rising star such as SUI. however we'll see how it plays out.

I guess moving on forward, like the LST platform you mentioned, solana will try to mimic the success of ETH in attracting big TVL through LST and L2. I've seen solana also having L2 in development, some other staking project like solayer also exists beside the one you mentioned, I guess it's a good thing, unlike TON that just stuck in reminiscing the glory of NOT, solana actually doing something to keep TVL high.

For how long the memes have been the logo of SOL? 
I do think that TON will shine in the future, however, while it lasts - the T2E sector will keep booming with new scams and projects like NOT. More time is needed for it to refurbish and go to better projects use-case-wise.

Many things can be said about SOL other than memes, and even more are to come, in my opinion.

Found this topic as interesting. As i can see Op asked about sol around 4 years ago. And finally we can see that solana have kept its promise. Years ago, it was facung some issues and that's why it dumped a lot and many were assumed it dead but i like the way as sol come back and hit century by its price. Solana now become improving themselves in scalability, problem solving, their functionality also increasing with days. It hard to guess but many already added sol as their most trusted altcoins list what would be worth in future

Yes many people now trust SOL, but critics still remain, though they have fewer objections than before. Even memecoins on the Solana network are performing well. I'm uncertain about other altcoins.
Also, Solana is now more active than most blockchains.I hold as well, but rather than just holding, I've staked my SOL on Bitget for 22% APR on this product. While exchanges like Bybit, Binance, and KuCoin offer similar products, I think the one I'm using currently offers the highest APR.

Solana has its own L2 network? That's new to me. I'd say this is highly unecessary, considering that the main Solana blockchain has ample transaction capacity. It's 10x better than Ethereum. An L2 will definitely bring more people into Solana. It might as well add more fuel to the hype.

Let me tell you that the next big thing is not SUI, but rather Aptos. It's highly-scalable, uses an innovative programming language for smart contracts (Move), and it's funded by VCs. The project has an "horizontal approach" to scaling. Imagine what will happen if it "blows up". Market prices will certainly go all the way to Mars.

Solana might see better days if it manages to achieve stability over time. The newly-launched "Firedancer" node software aims to solve this once and for all. It's written in C, unlike the official Solana node software written in Rust. The latter has high performance, but prone to issues. C, on the other hand, is much more stable. It's likely Solana will become as good as Ethereum if the new node software becomes a success. Developers need to work hard if they want their project to stand the test of time. Maybe Solana will reach a new ATH? Only time will tell.
