Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era.

Hundred thousands of death seem something to really be alarmed which is why this reopening of the casinos will just make it even worse.  There is just nothing else to do here but continue the lockdown and just allow people to buy food on stores when they go out. Food supply is just the only industry that may open for the supply. The government provide it and the only that matters, for now, is to stop the virus from infecting more.

The pandemic isn't over. They are just easing down the lock down. The casinos are taking all precaution to make sure distance are maintained, but I doubt they are going to maintained as intended. Though, I do agree its a really bad idea. A single infected person (those asymptomatic virus carriers are more dangerous) can end up infecting tens of others all while playing.
Sadly, there are quite a lot of people here who aren't taking this seriously. When things starts to get even far worse (it is already worse!) and beyond repair, then people will start believing the deadly affects of the virus.

You are definitely right! People wont really take it seriously as long they wont really be badly affected of it.Its really a bad idea to open up business on these days. These establishments would really need to follow that distancing and as said this would only be good for a short time but later on progress, they will surely forget it out and the problem becomes even more bigger.

We do have asymptomatic people which cant really be easily detected by just having that thermal scanners and some disinfectant on your hands -just like on what most establishments been doing nowadays.

Come to think that this is airborne. One infected person in a place which is enclosed and airconditioned then expect that inside of that place will really able to get the virus and the problem

Going back to gambling shouldn't be a decision at the moments because the said  novel coronavirus has not yet a cure, for anyone that contact the disease might be the end of their living. Humans should.avoid unnecessary risk for the sake of having fun or for money. How should anyone think of opening a gambling casino just for their selfish gains. Not a long time ago I saw the interview of the Mayor of Las Vegas and she said that she wants casinos and the other businesses to open very soon. Even she doesn't care about how they prevent the spread of the virus after those businesses are open.

It seems she really made it happen and I just hope that no one will go out from Las Vegas if the coronavirus is spread there. Stay Safe

I guess we all knew that Las Vegas casinos were planning to open soon, but how many of you’ll actually thought that they would be opening it so soon? because I’m shocked that they have opened it as the number of corona cases are rising only.

Furthermore flights to Las Vegas are already full, and people are coming in large numbers to play out there, hence I’m sincerely praying that no one gets infected while playing out there.

Though they have set up various safety measures, but I’m not sure what their protocol will be if it’s found that an infected person played out there, will they be forced to shut down their casinos, or will it be business as usual for them?.

That was quite alarming as for now that there is still no vaccine or cure for the Coronavirus pandemic and the death toll is still rising on a daily basis although the rate is partially slowing down due to precautionary measure being done by different countries, still it is not enough because those actions are just to lessen or slow down the infectious rate but not to cure the virus.

I think if ever there would be an infected individual once the casinos have opened in Las Vegas, maybe they would just make it confidential or hide it into public notice because I have read on an article that even the pandemic is still on, the mayor of Las Vegas is already insisting to open the casinos so we can conclude that they are up into business more than public health safety.

We never know if many people will come to that casino or not because we are still at the pandemic and it's not going to end now.
The pandemic still is there, but if we see the condition in each country, I think the infected people slowly reduce because the government know what they need to do if someone infected.
We are going to have a new normal in many countries, and we see that some public is already reopened, but they have a strict rule for people who visit that place.

I don't get it, what happened with USA? I mean the virus is still going on, people are still dying, and yes the numbers could be looking better but they had over 100 thousand people dead. That is all the wars combined in the past 100 or so years for them and they still didn't care and now Las Vegas opens and more importantly there are riots everywhere in the country and people are basically in a civil war type of situation where they are pretty close to each other.

I don't get it, why would they want to have something like this when the consequences is tens of thousands of death? I get it there is business to be made at Vegas and without starting back open eventually, they will have a failing economy that will hurt both business owners but also workers too, but starting back up so soon, just because of money reasons, in face of death? That sounds a bit too extreme capitalist.

I think that what we are seeing is that governments have decided that the quarantine has not served its purpose, the vaccine is going to take too long to be developed and produced and by that time most of the population is going to get sick with the virus and most of them are going to be fine, when you combine that fact with the economy being in such bad shape, governments have decided that it is better to let the economy open rather than to keep it closed, we will see during the next months if they were right and I hope they are but we will have to wait and see.

Agree. Of course, the owners who want to open the casinos very early even if the Covid-19 cases aren't really over yet. While the government, normally they should consider the condition first, they won't give permission if Covid-19 is still there. But with a strong request from the owners, there is a chance that the government to allow them. However, in my opinion, it is a careless decision to open the casinos too early. We don't know that all people are free from Covid-19 or not. This can lead to another wave of Covid-19 spread.

the rules given by the government in every country that legalize casinos will certainly be very hard.  the government will definitely close casinos that cannot follow the health protocols they uphold, but maintaining distance at the casino will be very difficult, casino owners must pay more attention to "limiting the distance between players" in their casino..

If casinos are the only way for them to help revive their economy, I think they made the best move to reopen the casinos, what they just need is to improve their sanitation and to make sure people will also implement a strict social distant, will wear masks, and will limit interaction with other gamblers. Also, they might need to mass test gamblers to make sure the spread of the virus will be lessened.

Some other people saw this as a suicide act but for me, they are just prioritizing their future even though it's quite risky.

I think one protocol will be necessary for every people who want to enter the casino to have a letter of health from Covid-19. That letter can get from the hospital as they are part of the government in this pandemic.

With having that letter, I think people will think twice before they visit that casino because, without that letter, they will not allowing to entering the casino.
