They always want to earn as they have employees who relies on their job in a casino, without them operating, it will result to more unemployed people and that will add to  the rising rate which is another burden by the government, but without the government approval, they can't operate.

One thing more base on what I observed about people not only in Las Vegas but US in general is that some of them are just don't following the guidelines the government has been implemented.

We can say here that they can gamble online and not risk themselves but the fact is they will do whatever they want too. Most of them are hard-headed that is why the curve isn't flattening. I've seen in some news some people going outside without any masks and no physical distancing at all.

I don't feel people staying at home or wearing masks for a few weeks/months is as depressing as you may think.

If you look back to the last Global Pandemic (the so-called Spanish Flu) the world bounced back fairly quickly with less developed research.  The Roaring twenties then occurred along with the introduction of leaded fuel in every car.  The end of the Roaring Twenties gave way to the Great Depression which then gave us Fascism & WW II.

I like to think we can steer clear of what happens after the roaring twenties - unless we bring back Flappers, Art Deco and Style that'd give you whiplash! Speakeasies...

Distributing vaccines by December would be awesome, but I am very careful on any predictions as they are usually to positive. I heard that for the general population vaccines are more likely to be around in mid 2021. But who knows how the long term studies look like. For a vaccine to be produced in mass the governments really want to be sure there are no negative long term effects of such drugs. I think developments in areas of air filtering would be more promising. If you could filter the air as fast as on an air plane with high tech filters that would be promising too.

It seems to me that you are a little behind the times, or rather from the understanding that the pace has changed  Now all processes are going much faster, and what happened 100 years ago in several years, or even decades, is now happening in months.
