Very strange most people like to buy with bitcoin , but using altcoins very few

Why do you think people don't like to use altcoins to buy things on the internet ?

Simple answer: Because 99% of shops and services which accept Bitcoin do not accept Altcoins. If Bitcoin or Altcoins are accepted for payments I usually pay with them, but from my experience Altcoins are rarely accepted why I often need to exchange Altcoins into Bitcoin to be able to pay the bill.

-knows and holds a number of altcoins

   Coolcoinz I agree with you, everything you said is truth. But now many more people knows about Bitcoin and crypto-currencies
then before. Not all of them have wallets on phones, or know much, but they are learning and new people who are interested are
coming. People recognize what's better for them and they will use that.

I think there is a distant towards altcoins because people do not really enjoy using altcoins in an off chance that it could drop like crazy and that means if you buy an altcoin and hold it there is a big chance you are going to lose a ton of money. Even ethereum had a range from 1500 dollars to 80 dollars at its bottom, bitcoins worst was from $20k to $3k.

So, even though bitcoin is hugely volatile compared to other stuff, it is still more "stable" compared to other altcoins. I however think that there will be a lot more usage for stable currencies in the future, people do not like this tether company, they like the product a ton but not the company, however one day we are going to have a lot of options to use USDT type of stuff for purchases because it is not volatile.

It's not strange because most of us started with bitcoin first, later when we discovered entire crypto and what there is we started to pay attention on alts. And there are good alts, nobody can deny that anymore and most of them have a good position now, with work and more people joining they can have even stronger global positions in the future.
Bitcoin will not disappear, there are people who are bitcoin fanatics, and they will never stop mining and supporting the network. We can think of some situations which can lead to some huge dump, but all that will be just a theoretically possible, reality is something else.

Not just being not familiar with altcoins but most people (traders) tend to use it only for trading. The heavy volatility of some altcoins is one that daily traders want and taking it as an advantage. Much riskier but that's the challenge there.

In 2017, during the prime of ICO, many invested in some projects and buy some altcoins that didn't even have an assurance that someday it will be listed. The purpose? Expecting a huge and decent profit someday because of hype.

And then a year later, the heavy bearish market came. There is no doubt that majority of altcoins touch their unexpected bottom floor. I take it as a reason why only a few people using altcoins.

I think this is the reason why we call or usually say that bitcoin is the most liquid of all crypto currencies. I guess it is not that they don't want it but I guess they tend to hold it or maybe they are using other things with it like trading with other crypto currencies as well. I mean there is really not much you can do but to expect that bitcoin would be used a lot more when its bigger than everything else combined. It would be still an obvious choice if there was some sort of "its bigger than the other highest 10 combined" type of thing, but we are talking about ALL coins combined.

This is why people willing to spend bitcoin and not altcoins are not because people prefer to keep their altcoins to themselves and are willing to use bitcoin, no the reason is actually because people would like to actually own bitcoin and not own altcoins so there are more people with bitcoins than altcoins that causes this.

^ Probably it will depend on people's like, I don't see any reason why they don't use bitcoin as payment. It has a widely use and acceptable anywhere than altcoins. As I can see, bitcoin has a worldwide adoption that you can use everywhere as long as it is not banned in the country. Though, altcoins have a smaller fee than bitcoin but probably only few of them. I rather had to use bitcoin than anything as a form of payment online.
Nevertheless, does not matter bitcoin or altcoins, as long as of what you have and both are agreed with the agreement as a payment method then there is no problem either bitcoin or altcoins.

Actually it is not already surprising or unusual thing because it is an initiative that when new people have been introduced into the world of cryptocurrency, the first crypto they would know is probably Bitcoin. Also, maybe the reason why they get to engage on cryptocurrency is because of what they hear or learn about Bitcoin. Not a single client that i had until now used altcoins like ethereum ,litecoin etc or tokens like usdt,usdc ....

It’s not strange to me, bitcoin is more popular than the other cryptocurrencies. Being the number one the list of cryptocurrencies gives bitcoin an advantage when it comes to usage. A lot of people now prefers to make use of bitcoin than any other cryptocurrency there is. Same thing with me, I have never done anything with anyone and they mention that they would like to do transaction using altcoins.

I even see some companies making use of bitcoin and none of them mention altcoins. Ethereum is very fast when it comes to transaction and I got to know about that when my friend suggested that we try it out, and that was my first time experience, and I only used it twice and still switched back to BTC since that’s the regular.
