There should also be a advantages and disadvantages of bitcoin, although it may already be included to your lesson plan, the risks it have like scams and ponzi, how to distinguish one, the red flags and how to avoid falling for those scams.

Bringing this into a much highlighted way in order to inform everyone in regards to this bad/illegal
practices / activities of scammers and hackers.
There are lots of ideas that might be tackled from your lesson plans but bringing this facts to wider
audiences will allow them to prepare better.

It's nice to see that topics like this are now available and spreading the more information about
bitcoin and blockchain technology.
Spreading and sharing knowledge will invite more interest and bring more new investment to
this system.

If you need a lesson plan, I will suggest you check out some books on cryptocurrencies. Also depend on the level of understanding of the student you are taking will give you idea of what you are to put up as topic. Introducing the underlying technology which is the blockchain should be the first topic to consider then you can start to broaden the technology as sub topics. For this, I will suggest a book titled "The Basics of Bitcoins and Blockchains: An Introduction to Cryptocurrencies and the Technology that Powers Them' by Antony Lewis.

1. General introduction to Bitcoin
2. What it is used for
3. Wallet
4. Exchange site
5. Introduction to a forum dedicated for discussion of Bitcoins named Bitcointalk Forum
6. Mining
7. Digital skills
8. Last week would be used for quizzes and setting up Bitcoin accounts and prizes would be won for serious students among them.
Same order but It should also discuss the market, so they can understand how volatile the bitcoin is.

You're right but i mentioned exchange site because theres no way he will discuss about exchange site with the exclusion of trading which will make them understand the dangers in crypto investment.

So, I made a post about me teaching college students about Bitcoin and it's usage. I asked for  few things that would make up my lesson plans here.https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5259038.msg54708539#msg54708539 The positive replies I got was enough for me. So, I came up with these;

1. General introduction to Bitcoin
2. What it is used for
3. Introduction to a forum dedicated for discussion of Bitcoins named Bitcointalk Forum
4. Mining
5. Digital skills
6. Last week would be used for quizzes and setting up Bitcoin accounts and prizes would be won for serious students among them.

Your criticism is a welcome one too. Embarrassed

Don't forget to teach them the risks involve in going into BTC trading, mining and other things related. And as well bring them to the understanding of how this risks and the fear of not achieving anything after dedicated work can be resolved.
How to prevent the risk will be necessary to be one lesson because not all people know how to do that. Many of us are getting stuck in the higher price without we can sell the bitcoin because the price is down too deep. If they want to try to trade, you need to besides them, and you can tell what step by step to starting trading is. As a beginner, they need to teach by you because they don't have much knowledge about crypto, trading, and investment, so you need to explain the details to them.
I do not like the term "prevent". There are always risks in every investment so the best term that we should use is how we should manage the risks very well. There are a lot of investors who lose money in cryptocurrencies just because they do not know what they are into. They keep buying bitcoin because their expectation it will grow quickly. Managing risks are important especially if we want to grow and protect our capital.

The school allowed you to do this?
I mean, there is no curriculum about this right?

I am just intrigued on how you pulled it off.
Other schools won't allow this since it is not covered by anything. But I guess it is because they are graduating college students.
Forgive my nosiness.  Grin

There are lots of things to learn about cryptocurrency, and they need to understand a lot of things when it comes to internet Business, since cryptocurrency is part of the internet. You need to let them know about scam just like some have pointed out here, it's really important. And they should also understand how the transaction works and know everything about fees.

Moreover, why I am pointing out that they should know about the online scams there is, is so that they will be able to stay clear from it and not make mistakes. This is a really long story,  you should do the research and you should add it to your lesson plans.

If some of your student interested, don't forget to tell them to backup their seeds or private key.
This must be a basic and foremost step for any internet activity. People need to remember their password when they create their new email ID and then the password is something too long and in unreadable format then they must go for taking proper back up. Same applies to seed and private keys.

If you are not familiar with basic internet things, then honestly bitcoin is not at all for you. You must get familiar with all pre-cautionary measurements of internet first and then you must take time to study about bitcoins and how to invest and how to securely save bitcoins and then only you must go for buying your first bitcoins.

The risk will always be there, whether we realize or not, but we can avoid the big risk. We must manage our money to be used for the investment, and that will work too in the crypto investment. If you want to buy bitcoin, you need to decide how much money you want to use to buy bitcoin. You can keep buying bitcoin, but you need to have an analysis to know when you can buy bitcoin at a low price.

That is a great plan OP, I must commend your effort in driving the global adoption of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies at large.

I must add, you need to explain clearly that Bitcoin investment won't get one rich overnight (not bad if it happens, because it has the capacity), this will help them reduce the expectations of getting rich immediately they purchase cryptocurrency.
They need to learn the benefits of patience in this space.

The syllabus looks fine for me. I only suggest to teach Daytrading first before going to Mining Cheesy because the latter one is more complex than the other.. You can also teach a glimpse of alt coins for them to realize the pros and cons of it compared to bitcoin. In this way, your students will be aware of the danger of investing to recent sprouting tokens which are mostly scam or failure. Therefore, it will result to less victims of money loss.
3. Introduction to a forum dedicated for discussion of Bitcoins named Bitcointalk Forum
I like this one Smiley. You not only able to give your students legit references for their study but also encourging them to become part of our community. Maybe one of them soon will be well recognized and become one of the forum's assets in the future, who knows?

Utilizing bitcoins price for maximum possible profitability is ideal but for people who do just aim for long term then this thing wouldnt really be an issue since

they are aiming for future selling not for short ones.So it wouldnt really matter at all.In topic talk then investment might be somewhat little far off for the lesson plan to be teached on

but it would really be great if it would be included.

If you need a lesson plan, I will suggest you check out some books on cryptocurrencies. For this, I will suggest a book titled "The Basics of Bitcoins and Blockchains: An Introduction to Cryptocurrencies and the Technology that Powers Them' by Antony Lewis.

That is a good suggestion so that students would be able to read more thing ls and not just depend on what he says in the class althouhh based on the OP I don't think they will get that deeper. I guess his goal is to give some knowledge about bitcoin and its uses, most of the people that will go to that class are those that don't know or doesn't have that knowledge.

I guess the technology behind it is a little bit overboard and it might be a new curriculum for him to teach. But since it is just an introduction to it, he could suggest that book and just make his students read the other part that can't be discussed in the class.

I think lesson on Bitcoin investment should be tackled separately.  It will only complicate the information and make the audience confused.  It can be included as general info view but should not be focused on it or add it as a focal point of the discussion.

This is a wonderful bold step taking by you. How I wish, we'll be telling the young one's about bitcoin from the grassroots. It will go a long way cos by so doing, they'll pass the knowledge gotten from crypto to their friends and family easily. Crypto knowledge will spreading indirectly

Each of the table of content you stated has other topics in them, which I don't expect you to rush any. It could take weeks before you can finish them.
Crypto teachings is a gradual process that needed much practical work than explanation. Which I believe you'll be able to shown them how blockchain is been run

what country is this and what school  . is the school have a bitcoin course ? if it doesnt have  ,  can we still teach btc to our students inside the classroom  ?  maybe its possible if no important lessons are going to discuss  .  if i am one of your studendts i think im going to be the top student because i like btc and anything related to it  . most of all i love quizes especially if its related to my hobby which was btc   .  your lesson plan is okay but better if you add more categories same as what we see on the forum , the longer your lecture goes  .

It is very interesting to see that work and it is not hard for you to make a lesson plan because you have already a background in teaching or something alike. The only you need is approval from your head. Well, I hope this will be granted.

A lot of people who have been eager to know more about Bitcoin and about crypto itself. We have youtube and online resources but feel better to have an interrogation from an expert (and that you called yourself). Just be sure that you are also preferred for this and all the resources to have to make it more clear for the students. It for sure this could help to promote Bitcoin and it gathers more listeners.

Dude, it's granted already before which is why they came up with this thread showing what they've taught to their students.

@OP, please include types of trading and gambling sections too (if allowed) in order to make those students aware of the fact that this asset class is too volatile and it is only good for those who don't overleverage.  It's also better if you put down the list of various types of mining equipment which changed from time to time for BTC and make them understand what it takes now to become a successful miner, now that BTC halving took place.

Your planning at the opening post is good enough, providing learning about Bitcoin to be accepted is not easy indeed. Therefore planning
must be done as well as possible, starting from the introduction of Bitcoin is very good. Then explain about usefulness, then about explanation
of this forum is not necessary in my opinion. Immediately, an explanation regarding the strengths and weaknesses of Bitcoin, and finally learn
how to buy, sell and make money from Bitcoin. If all the points I have mentioned are well studied, I am sure that in the near future Bitcoin
mass adoption will occur.

If the whole topic is about Bitcoin then I definitely commend you for the topics that you have made and will be teaching out to your students. I would also like to emphasize if you can include like what are the different ways to earn Bitcoin and how to avoid the bad ways to earn and scams. Also you put a little emphasis on how Bitcoin revolutionized the digital currency market with the creation of Alternative coins. Lastly, you might also need to give a financial disclaimer before presenting to class, that this is for informational purposes and is in no way intended to be a financial guide to financial freedom.

But I wonder for people who have time or goals that he wants to reach in one period, but he is not selling the asset directly at a high price, and still waiting for another highest price. That will not be recommended to do because we don't know if the price will stay at a high price or not (I am sure the price will go down after reaching the high price). So in this matter, we need to think about the greediness factor that might come to us, especially if we can reach a big profit in a short time before the investment period is come.

So, I made a post about me teaching college students about Bitcoin and it's usage. I asked for  few things that would make up my lesson plans here.https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5259038.msg54708539#msg54708539
That’s really nice . These are the basic things that anyone that’s interested in cryptocurrency needs to know and it’s good that you’re taking your time to teach people about this. I do see some articles on Coindesk. They have a page on their website that is dedicated to learning everything about bitcoin . You can as well check out their website and you might be able to see some topics that are useful that you can add to this and make it a longer list.

planning must be done as well as possible, starting from the introduction of Bitcoin is very good. Then explain about usefulness, then about explanation of this forum is not necessary in my opinion.
It’s really not an easy thing to do lol. I have a lot of people that would usually come to me and be asking that I teach them about bitcoin, and due to the fact I hardly get the time, I’m unable to do that. And I would just refer them to some articles and websites and videos as well, that will help them learn. But it’s always best when someone teaches you face to face and you’re able to ask questions.
