Freebitco.in claims that its free hourly faucet is provably fair, but is it?
Before everyone jumps and shout at me, I know, you can verify that the number rolled is correct for the seeds that were used, fair enough right?
Yeah, but that would be only if you get the server seed for EVERY rool you do.

Let us see how it goes, before you click "Roll", take note of the server seed hash and client seed, then click Roll.
The seeds are sent to Freebitco.in server to calculate, and then it replys with your result and the unhashed server seed used.
Then you hash the server seed to confirm that it is the one used in the roll, all good.

But what if the server doesn't come back with your result and seed? What if the roll freezes and you don't get the response?
That's ok, you can just refresh the page and try again, easy!

BUT WAIT, what about the server seed in the frozen roll?
Well, unfortunately, they are gone, you can't use them anymore.

Fair enough, can I at least know the seed that was used for that frozen roll? I just would like to see what would I have won if it didn't freeze?

Nope, sorry, no can do!
Just refresh the page, get new seed hash, try again, and wish for the best

Now you wonder what do I mean by frozen roll.
I am sure some of you would have noticed, that sometimes, not always, after clicking roll, the numbers keep rolling non stop, and you don't get a roll.
And I am sure that you just refresh the page and try again, and very likely no suspicion take place.

I have been waiting to write about this for long time, haven't had time or will, till today

In the odd unlikely case that it is only me who gets those frozen rolls, I have screen recorded the frozen roll, so you know what I mean.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soBSMHotbs8

I believe that Freebitco.in are using this tactics to not send a result if the roll returns a faucet more than what are they welling to give that user. It could be different between me and you, or could be the same, I don't know.
In my case, I have never got more than the third level, I know the odds are tiny, but I have been playing for years.

I start the thread thinking this needs confirming, am I the only one, or are there others getting the same "glitch".

Thank you for reading

I've seen a topic about this before. I'm pretty sure they're not fair for the high winning free rolls.

I think you are talking about this thread.

IMO, if the free rolls were provably fair, freebitco.in would have gone bankrupt long time ago with all the bots and multi accounts...

Nope, I meant this one: Freebitco.in provably cheating.

I think so too. I don't think they can afford to pay $0.027 on average for each free roll. In my post I also argue that $200 winners should happen about 12.5 times more often compared to $20 winners than they should.

Fair enough, can I at least know the seed that was used for that frozen roll? I just would like to see what would I have won if it didn't freeze?

I've seen some freezes myself on that site back in the days.

I consider RHavar an expert on provably fairness. He said this about another site:
the site doesn't meet standards expected of a provably fair site.
I'd appreciate if @RHavar can share his thoughts on this case.

There are chances to win the $200 but they are so so slim and almost next to none.

We run faucets ourselves and we must state if we were to allow users to win even $50 a day we wouldn't be in business.

FreeBitco.in is applying the very same model.

We've been using this site for years and always won the very first 2 prizes, never won beyond that - but we had some referrals who won more - it's totally normal and that's how a good faucet works.

Whether that is deception or not - unsure what to say - the users should be aware this is how it works - you might have a chance winning the jackpot but this is in some extreme fashion or figure of speech - it's similar to the very same chances you would pick all the lottery numbers with 1 single card.

I agree to all above. These faucets aren't really fair!

A player needs years to gather the minimum Withdrawals.
For example: For BTC you have to play every Day 10x for 2 Years! And you never will reach a number higher than the minimum range.

I guess, they control the results for each roll, so that a player maybe sometimes will get a number in the range 2, but not really many times. 99% of your strikes you will get only the minimum range.
