I would admit though that leaving Mbappe while trying to find other players is never a great thing for any club as Mbappe is on a different level when he is able to show his best game. I do believe that Mbappe will reach the next level at Real Madrid as he is still the superstar on the one hand, but there are a dozen superstars on the other hand. He is one of many. I had the feeling that Mbappe too often felt like he is above all else and then he had games where he was nowhere to be found.

For PSG as a club it is a huge loss because the combination was so amazing for them. Mbappe is a French guy and he is probably the best player in the world at the moment. His global presence is impressive and at the same time he was a guy from home so to say.

Yes, you are right that gamblers will not see the fate of a club or the fate of a league in the future because they have a mindset that profits will continue to be made, but the problem is that gamblers also see the prospective of a club from the quality of players that a club like PSG currently has.
