That old thread is inactive because people don't have much interest in Ligue 1. The league is dominated by Lyon in the past and now by PSG. The attraction from Ligue 1 is lower than Bundesliga when at least Bayern is a big club and almost each year there are strong teams fight for trophy with Bayern.

I hope your new thread will be attractive because of success from PSG and Lyon in Champions League in this tournament.

@BitSat19 I believe that this thread will be active from now on, and I too will try and chip in here and help you keep this thread up. Also if PSG manage to hodl on to Neymar, Mbappe then we are set for another season where they’ll dominate the Ligue 1 and normally I didn’t like it in the past, but post this pandemic I’ll just be happy to see football resume out there.

After league 1 closed early because of the peak of the pandemic at that time and now it starts early, of course it will be nice too there is still football that is still going on today, if PSG win the UCL on the 24th it will be the most favorite team maybe league 1 will be in great demand again.
Honestly, I only know in the league that there are 1 famous teams like PSG, Lyon and Monaco and the other teams don't know about it.

First match of new season end in very bore goalless draw even Bordeaux was playing most of time with ten men but Nantes still fail to have any advantage now lets see what happen in second match of this season which is going to played between Dijon  vs  Angers on Saturday.

With their outstanding performance in the Uefa Champions League that have ended recently, I guess Lyon should have an easier time when they play against Dijon today, the offense of Dijon is not very strong and I think Lyon should be able to keep a clean sheet and claim a victory against Dijon today.

@Barcode_ indeed Lyon won this game comfortably in the end, and Deepay scored a hattrick his first goals since December 2019. Also it’s pertinent to note that Deepay is linked to Barcelona, and he’s opened the door for them by saying that he wishes to play in the champions league, so it’ll be really interesting to see if Barcelona will swoop in to purchase him or no?.

Even though Dijon have managed to score the first goal against Lyon yesterday, but Lyon was still able to outplayed Dijon totally with an outstanding ball possession and higher number of goal attempts that allows Lyon to beat Dijon comfortably by scoring 4 goals against Dijon at the final whistle.

Monaco might be missing a few important key players in the match when they play against Metz today, and I think Monaco will struggle to score goals against Metz today, there might be a high chance for this match to ends up with another draw result for Monaco today.

For today, I missed a lot of Ligue 1 matches because I didn't have time, and about Monaco I think they were lucky to keep their goal lead because after getting a red card the game changed a lot in terms of ball possession and other statistics. However, with one match remaining between Brest - Marseille and even though it is a pretty high odds for Marseille winning at odds 1.9x, I still believe Marseille will still win this first match.

I agree that Ligue 1 is the lowest quality league compared to the top five major European Leagues but still it is very interesting from a prediction or betting discussion point of view.This is a very hard to predict league if we remove PSG as they are going to be the clear winnerd even in this season.

@casperBGD your wishes came true as Lens beat PSG by scoring the only goal of the match, and indeed PSG sorely missed their important player’s because had they been on the pitch then we would have witnessed a totally different result. Furthermore the blame also lies on PSG goal keeper for playing that silly pass, which allowed Ganago to score and claim victory for his team.

Ligue 1 have start first match last night and Paris Saint Germain have get first lost in this season from Lens, I think how ever the result match between Lens vs PSG always have chance for PSG become the champion of Ligue 1, they have good team and many star player on their team like Neymar, Di Maria and Mbape. Right now their player have injured after getting covid 19 and miss more than two weeks later, after Neymar confirmed keep on playing with PSG I think give good result for PSG to be champion in Ligue 1.
