Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024

Manchester United didn't start so confidently and briskly last season, but at the end of the league they still managed to take 3rd place in the standings last season. So, I'm sure these guys will still be able to gain momentum even despite the recent loss to Arsenal (mind you with a difference of 2 goals).

The Premier League is still long, anything can be done by Erik Ten Hag to improve the inconsistent squad, but I believe the big teams can eventually complete the ticket for the Champions League next season, at the beginning they still continue to improve and do things that the coach thinks are suitable for his tactics.

You could say that about Manchester United, which was inconsistent with its performance because Ten Hag was experimenting with several strategies, and maybe that was the factor that made it unstable, or in other words, they couldn't keep up with the matches that their opponents like Arsenal and Tottenham brought because Manchester United lost by these two teams, the season is still long and it's still at the beginning, there are still many games to catch up and get a champion's league ticket.

What are the predictions for this season, my dear football fans? Will there be another confrontation (fight for the Premier League Cup) between Arsenal and Manchester City again or will one (or several) teams join the race for the title? Your thoughts? Who will represent a really serious competition to these two favorites? Manchester United?

Manchester City is still very difficult to beat they are too solid, so the title race will be between them or other teams but not Manchester United.

I have serious doubts about Liverpool because they are no longer in the 2019-2020 season, I agree about Manchester City but I don't really understand why you predict Liverpool as a team worthy of competing with Manchester City? Even though they had a good start to the season with 4 sweet wins, it's not certain that that could be a factor, right?

I think Liverpool is doing okay for a team that has been under a lot of pressure to perform since the departure of Mane last season. They tried to cope with the vacuum upfront and if I can say, they can't even be ranked with Newcastle united because the difference is clear.
In this season, teams which can compete with Manchester city and be successful is Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United, Liverpool got a good chance too. Newcastle however is not in the group still.

Newcsatle has not proven to be a stable team in any season. I was feeling worry for people who being very optimistic about this club. Eddie howe had so many home works that must be done as soon as possible.
Newcastle is now placing at the bottom caused by this club was getting a lose streak. Im feeling that if newcastle is still far from being a top candidate to win EPL this season.
I hope people are aware of how inconsistent the performance from newcastle at this moment. Howe needs to learn a lot from the different club like manchester city. He was making so many blunders that was making newcastle lose full points from the previous matches.
I hope that eddie will realize his mistakes during the previous matches.

They were very impressive last season and it was their good performance that got them into the top four, which made everyone to think that they've turned into one of the big contending clubs in Epl, prior to their change of owners, but this  season they've failed to leave up to that standard and have drastically reduced to the small club we knew them as, I'm suprised at their poor form and I think Eddie Howe has a lot to do to take his club back to winning ways.
  Newcastle's poor performance is very suprising though they started well but have failed to keep up after their first game, they're currently 14th on the table and have lost three  matches out of four winning just one which was their first match against Aston Villa which they won with a 5-1 victory, and I think the earlier Eddie realizes his mistakes and make some changes after the International break, the better for him amd the club because if they continue losing it might cost him his managerial position.

After appearing ferocious in the opening match of the season by beating Aston Villa with a final score of 5-1, Newcastle seemed to have lost their enthusiasm to play in the next match. The defeats of Manchester City and Liverpool might be used as an excuse that the opponents they faced were strong teams, but the defeat to Brighton was truly unexpected, especially since Brighton managed to score their goal three times.

Three consecutive defeats is not a good achievement for Newcastle, they must immediately improve their performance to rise from their slump. A team like Newcastle should be able to provide new challenges in the Premier League, they have sufficient funds to bring in quality players, but their movement in the transfer market looks so relaxed.

Newcastle are a very good side with good players,but their performances this season has been questioned because of the way they played last season.They had an aggressive parttern that made other teams scared of them and that made them seem to be winning games,but this season is different,because most of the EPL teams have mastered the way they play,and ready to play aggressively with them.I remembered last season when they faced a strong Arsenal side,they were able to defeat Arsenal because of the aggressive way in which they played,but in the second leg when Arsenal used that same pattern to play them,they lose to the gunners.

Alot of things to learn about the present phase of Liverpool, they're probably restructuring the team into a better one. Jurgen Klopp is a tactical coach with extensive experience in English Premier League football. However, they had a disappointing season the previous year, not succeeding to qualify for a UEFA Champions League position. The Reds will have to settle for European competition, where they are doing well. They have new players that are determined to further develop their game and take it to entirely novel dimensions. Liverpool is a top club that has the ability to reach their highest peak this season.

I am curious to know whether you watched the match played by Chelsea. Chelsea never performs well other than against the mediocre team like luton. Chelsea never had vast improvements since last season. I don't even see the different between now and last season.
If you were always watching chelsea's match and you will be aware if there would never be improvements happened with this club. Chelsea keeps doing that shit again and again.
This club never learns from its mistake. I don't even see the difference between pochettino and potter. Chelsea is unlikely finishing at the top table this season.
Chelsea needs to lower its target.

When Potter was replaced by Frank Lampard as caretaker coach, the game fell apart and Chelsea under coach Lampard often lost. After Lampard left, Chelsea management chose Pochettino as head coach.
During pre-season matches, they played lively and skillfully and were predicted to be able to win the Premier League, considering the many young stars who were on the rise. However, the results were disappointing after entering the Premier League. I think it's normal that many people think Chelsea has changed but the fact is now it's true as you say Chelsea hasn't changed at all it's still the same as when Potter was coaching.

Chelsea do not learn from mistakes, the quality of Chelsea's players is good, young, talented, but the experience of players is more important than young players nowadays. I also don't expect too much from Chelsea this season to get into the top four at the end of the season.

Yes indeed, Newcastle did not look aggressive in the transfer market yesterday and of course, with a way like that Newcastle must be ready to overcome the bad conditions that will certainly be faced this season. After all, it will be bad if Newcastle are unable to have a consistently good performance this season, because Newcastle must also be able to focus on the Champion League this season. Although there is no big hope for Newcastle to go further, but at least Newcastle must have a great effort to qualify for the round of 16 in the Champions League. But ya, regarding Newcastle performance in the Premier League, of course it has been seen so far this season that Newcastle is not doing well.

I want to ask you, what are the definite indicators to judge that Liverpool cannot compete or qualify with Manchester City as favorites for the competition in the English Premier League this season, I want to know your view? and again you added manchester United as one of the candidates? and you also count Newcastle as one that has improved quite well in last season but still doesn't have the qualifications in your view to compete more competitively, I just want to know how you assess this team, because to be honest I'm not very good at looking at indicators in assessing a decent team or not?

The problem with Chelsea is that they don’t have overall coordination when playing. The coach doesn’t even know the players to start and the ones not to start. Always changing the starting 11 which he must have tested before now to know the players that will do better in the starting eleven. This should have been done during pre season to know the best squad to start with.

Now, no one is having high hopes on Chelsea this season, all they can do now is to anticipate a good gameplay while having reservations on what the outcome of their performance will be. How is wish Chelsea signed Nagelsmann over Pochettino, we might have seen a better change from that coach than him. They are still facing what they were running away from since last season.

Chelsea's problems stem from their hierarchy, Chelsea under Todd Boehly play like a disorganized team and the management are making too many bad decisions, Mauricio Pochettino is a great coach, but i think Todd Boehly should have signed Luis Enrique, he was eager to get the job, and i was surprised that the deal fell through at the last moment.

Having said that, it is not all about buying players, you need to get the right players and also manage them very well; Chelsea are buying too many players that they don't need, they are not addressing the actual areas that the team is lacking and even if the season just started, it looks like they won't be in any title race, but a top four race.

But I wouldn't come to the same conclusion as you considering they have 34 games in hand this season. Chelsea is still in a transition stage where they are trying to adjust their players and coaches well to form a good scheme as a strong team. You can't expect it to be completed easily without hard and consistent work, which means you have to be patient enough for the process to work.

If Newcastle were able to finish in the top 4 last season then why do you think Chelsea can't do it after spending so much money building up their squad? I think you all just need to be patient (if you are a Chelsea fan), but otherwise have fun if you are not one.

Manchester United is widely known for doing wrong businesses during the transfer window. They do not buy young and talented players. They go for old players who cannot change things in the team. To buy such players that they will buy with huge amount of money, but at the end of one or two seasons, they will sell them bellow the buying price. They are not good at the business and the Scout Team are not doing their best for the club. However, Manchester United did not spend much this transfer season, for the little they spent the only good transfer that they have gotten is the midfield Armrabat and maybe the young striker which I did not believe for the amount of money he was bought.
As for Newcastle, I am very much pitiable for them because they are now in the Champions League and they're struggling in the English Premier League.

Manchester united are probably recording poor performance and they're on the verge of making the team balanced this season, however let's hope for the possible best for the Red Devils. Erik Ten Hag is facing some difficulties this summer, and the root cause of the problem is the signing of overhyped players. They provide no substantial benefit to the team. The EPL is an exceedingly difficult league, and only a consistent elite club can establish a winning run in league games. Manchester United keeps making the same mistakes in the transfer market, signing the wrong players and suffering defeats in league games.

Manchester United are being criticized for their transfer policies, and I think they are right. Look how much efficiency they could get from the players that were recruited. Hopefully this scenario will change in the future because a tough UCL group awaits them. If they get surprise defeats, they may lose their chance to leave the group. They should focus on the premier league and come to their senses as soon as possible.

Over the last few years we have seen Manchester United spending a lot of money building their squad. But even then their performance is quite poor. They can't pick the right players for their squad. And they are not learning from past mistakes. They have made similar mistakes this season as well. They added Hojlund to the squad for 75 million. Hojlund is a talented player. But he lacks the ability to score consistently. He might be able to play well in the future, but that too cannot be said for sure. Manchester United need an experienced striker this season. They are planning for the future without correcting their weaknesses. Manchester United could have added a proven scorer to the squad without Hojlund.

They were generous to Rasmus Hojlund. They took a big risk by giving 75 million Euros to Hojlund, who could not get enough chances to play even in Atalanta. For now, the performance has not been seen to meet the money given, but I hope Hojlund will be better in the coming years. Manchester United have long felt the lack of a good striker. If Hojlund doesn't close this, they will have to make a transfer again.

I don't know why Hojlund was added to the squad for so much money . We saw Holland bought by Manchester City for 60 million.  But Haaland performed well with Dortmund's squad. And he was a tested striker. But Hojlund is not an experienced player. Hojlund scored just 9 goals in 32 games last season with Atalanta. Haaland, on the other hand scored 22 goals in 24 games in his final season with Dortmund. I don't know why Hojlund was bought for such a high price. I think this is a bad decision by Manchester United. I don't think Hojlund will make 10 goals for Manchester United this season.

City have been so consistent in the English premier league where even the least team in the league can put up a surprising show on a good day against even the best team in the league. I remember the season Liverpool were going unbeaten until watford defeated them by a 3 to nil scoreline. I expect even Manchester City will face such game this season that will stop their winning streak and it will be surprising that it could be Luton who will be the hero of the day.

Basically Chelsea are not without improvement, but they are not yet as perfect as most people would hope. The average fan wants Chelsea to easily return to the peak of their best performance after Pochettino took over as coach, but in fact it is not that easy. You're right, they have to be patient, but at least Pochettino has to prove he can make a positive impact on Chelsea's form.

In the first 4 matches, Chelsea were only able to win against Luton Town, but they were not as good as expected in the other 3 matches. Pochettino certainly still has a lot of time and opportunity to improve, but the problem is he really needs to be able to do it as quickly as possible so that he and his future do not fall under immense pressure. I remember Arsenal almost fired Arteta, but because of good trust and support, Arteta was able to prove that his work for Arsenal was truly great.

After watching yesterday’s game, I think teams should be wary of Arsenal in stoppage and additional time because  Arsenal are utilizing the additional minutes to yield productive results. Against Manchester United and Manchester City, Arsenal have gotten late comeback goals and win games this season. Arsenal really showed the red devils who’s boss at the Emirates, the fans will ride on this victory for the rest of the month.

I believe that Arsenal can achieve a good position this season because of their improved performance. At the start of the league, I believed that Arsenal's midfield players would hinder their performance, but I now believe that they have also improved. Declan Rice demonstrated his readiness to contribute to Arsenal by scoring his first goal against Manchester United. While I cannot predict that Arsenal will win the league title this year, they can perform to improve their chances of qualifying for the champions league the following year.

The reason I said that Arsenal cannot win the league title is that the Premier League has a schedule that is going to be challenging this year. Teams like Manchester City, Tottenham, and Liverpool are particularly strong squads that are prepared to do whatever it takes to win the league, and Manchester City's performance is still consistent with last season. I don't believe there is a team in the Premier League that will be able to defeat them.

Honestly Newcastle is a new team if you ask me, yes they are an old one with the name and all but they have been bought just less than two years ago, so they are building a new team and sometimes you could see results like these from the new teams and it happens, there is nothing wrong with that. They are trying to find who they are and they are trying their best to do as well as possible too.

I think it should be important to realize that we are not going to see something major with this team, not at the moment. I believe that we saw them do well last season so our perspective was skewed a bit, but the reality is that last season was last season and this season is a new one so we should be caring about that.

Arsenal are tough and fierce when it comes to games on Emirates ground. Mikel Arteta is acquainted with his players and knows exactly the appropriate techniques to triggered against his opponents. Manchester United were victims of fatigue in the game, Erik Ten Hag made big mistakes this summer by not signing Alejandro Martinez replacement, he had the available funds to sign rather he was reluctant. The Red Devils were devoured by Gunners in injury time, ofcourse no one was expecting that, because we have all concluded the game to be a  North London Derby draw tie.

Chelsea has a good defense, good midfield and attacking players but are lacking creativity that is why I don’t approve of their big spendings because they are not technically strengthening their weak positions but just signings players and hoping that would solve their problems. They have spend this much in two windows and still cannot comfortably win games or even compete at a convincing level. Pochettino has a lot to do, he’s been given the players he want, it is now his turn to win trophies.

Many of the players recruited by Man United have good individual skills but don't have a football brain and are used to being given freedom. So when they have to play with the system, they can't run it well, their decision making is bad. Maybe this is something ETH needs to fix so that it can be consistent in the next match.

In the Klopp era? During his time at Liverpool, Klopp has only won the EPL once for 7 years and he still maintains it to this day. Likewise, it took Man City several years for Pep Guardiola to win the UCL League. It's a pity that ETH, when it's only the second season, already wants to be told to step down. It took Klopp 5 years and Liverpool fans are patient. Why do Man United fans have such high demands? Look at the condition of the club since Sir Alex Ferguson left it, it really took a long time for Man United to return to the way it used to be. If it is replaced every two years, Man United's process of rising will not be completed. I mean, Man United this season if they don't win the EPL Trophy is still reasonable and ETH still deserves to be maintained.

Manchester City coached by Pep Guardiola has won 5/6 titles from the last 6 seasons. They also managed to defend their title in the last 3 seasons between 2021-2023. If only Liverpool didn't win the title in the 2019/2020 season, so far Manchester City have won 6/6 titles in the last 6 seasons.

City have been so consistent in the English premier league where even the least team in the league can put up a surprising show on a good day against even the best team in the league. I remember the season Liverpool were going unbeaten until watford defeated them by a 3 to nil scoreline. I expect even Manchester City will face such game this season that will stop their winning streak and it will be surprising that it could be Luton who will be the hero of the day.

Manchester City's consistency in dominating the Premier League title can still be stopped if other teams are able to perform well and take advantage of every match to achieve victory. The problem is that no team has performed like that, even in the first 4 matches this season, Manchester City managed to win 12 points compared to 19 other teams.

You can expect Manchester City's winning streak to stop at one game but I don't think Luton will do that. Last season Manchester City lost 5 times and drew 5 times, so their defeat can be expected this season regardless of which team will do it. I hope Liverpool and Manchester United, but United looks bad so far.

 It suprises how people risk betting in such kind of match, because it's one that involves two big teams and is expected to be very tough, in matches like this I know right that there would be too many goals because if you check their previous meetings they always have 3 to goals in the matches so to be on a safer side I  expect people to bet over 1.5 goals, which has always worked I'm their past 3 meetings even in the preseason.
 In my opinion, to be honest I think the Var robbed Manchester united of the game and that call wrong because it was clearly not an offside and if the goal was given the game would had been in favour of united cause the would had blocked their defence line instead of coming out to score an equalizer anyways the decision is being made an there's nothing anyone can do about it, Manchester United are left with no choice but to accept defeat and work on performing better on their next match which I feel would be very tough cause they're facing Brighton.

Talking about VAR’s interventions in the game VAR did not intervene on Manchester United’s chance of getting a goal it also ruled out a possible penalty chance for Arsenal which no one is even talking about because Arsenal won the game at last. I have seen the photos from VAR’s assessment and it was shown to be an offside, I don’t know what other explanations Manchester United supporters want from the officials.
