I was unable to watch the match, and I haven’t gotten the time to watch the highlight, but for Manchester United to be able to hold Manchester City down, then they really tried. When a match comes to a penalty, then the lucky team will be winning it. I don’t really know Manchester United’s overall performance in the match, but I won’t blame them just because they lose the penalty. Manchester United midfield look like a higher institution or college boys team, the midfield today cannot even compete with even the lower ranked teams in the league. They Also have a strong defense deficiency most especially the left back position. This position situation is part of why I would also say Ten Hag needs to be bold enough to win matches and subsequently trophies too, he should’ve given the young Harry Amass a full debut and should’ve taken Rashford out way earlier than he played,

Ederson To Remain At Manchester City After Productive Talks With Guardiola

Ederson has confirmed his commitment to Manchester City for the upcoming season, despite interest from Saudi Arabian clubs. The Brazilian goalkeeper had been linked with moves to Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal but decided to stay after discussions with manager Pep Guardiola and other club officials.

Since joining from Benfica in 2017, Ederson has become a key player for Manchester City. He has won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, and the Champions League. His performances have made him a fan favourite at the Etihad Stadium.

Last month, Ederson mentioned he was undecided about his future. However, after productive talks with Guardiola and the club's hierarchy, he has now committed to staying. "The decision has been made. I agree with you. Chelsea have serious problems in their defense. I am confused why Chelsea increase the number of goalkeepers even though currently there seems to be around 8 goalkeepers in the Chelsea squad. But it seems true what X-ray said, Chelsea increase the number of goalkeepers not only to find the best and strengthen their defense, but to do some business and get profit from the player's price.

That many goalkeepers will definitely be very wasteful for a team because Chelsea will only use a few and it would be more ideal if Chelsea could sell half of that number to other teams and buy some other defenders to fill their defense to make it better. Because a team must be better from all lines and more importantly is the defense side apart from the front side which must also have fast finishers so that there are goals from each match. But I don't understand what Chelsea is doing now so that they can have that many goalkeepers.

I don't know what Chelsea was thinking until they recruited many goalkeepers indirectly instead of reaping a lot of profit if they sell them but instead wasting money because they have to pay salaries and contracts every season for the goalkeepers even though they only use at least 2 goalkeepers to rotate their main goalkeepers, they have to sell goalkeepers who are actually not really needed rather than having to accommodate many players.
I see Chelsea also recruiting many players in the summer transfer market including defenders, midfielders, and strikers, at least they also have to think about their financial stability.

The two teams show a lot of interest in winning and Manchester United tried, they scored first just that they can not maintain the one goal because we know that, Manchester City will do everything possible to win and look at what happened at the end of the game. And I was already expecting the city to actually given united a good defeat but Manchester United played hedge to hedge game with them the game even leading to penalty shootout and also from the stats it was not any difference and Manchester City are always looking for ways to actually drag the game to a penalty since they can not add more goals and they know that they might have a better chance in a penalty shootout with Manchester United because of their goal keeper and Silva who scored the goal that lead to the penalty shootout also lost one penalty and their was a lot of substitutions since it was going to be a penalty shootout. That is one of the strategies that are often used by coaches to give their self more advantage during a shootout. And the game ending 7:6 was actually a very close one for Manchester City they would have lost the community shield to united but congratulations to Manchester City once again.

The Manchester derby presented in the Community Shield final was very tight, and in the end Manchester City managed to emerge as champions, congratulations to Pep Guardiola and his squad. Manchester City success indicates that Manchester United is still less competitive with its city rivals, although we realize that the match was quite troublesome for both teams. Chelsea should work with the defenders they have now and forget buying more, let them build the connection/communication among themselves instead of adding and then lack level of commitment, loosing the ball at critical points will only send the team down the table.

Im so disappointed at Manchester United, I taught they were getting any better but sadly it appears they aren't, and I'm not happy at their performance, I know I will be sounding like a fan of which I'm not but my biggest concern is that this games wasn't of much importance to Manchester city because looking at their form and strength, they still have got a chance at a trophy this season but Manchester United appears like this is their only chances yet they messed it up,  they did had chances even in the first and second half yet they weren't able to convert or utilize any of them so they just performed terribly, I just hope they get better and try getting the Europa so they have something to fall back at by the end of the new season.

Be you a fan or not I think you said the truth on their performance, I wasn't expecting Pep Guardiola to even win the game because the Citizens weren't completely clinical, was expecting Man UTD to take advantage of the fact that some of the players who causes problem wasn't in play but they delayed till Pep start bringing in the deadly players. Only if ETH would have changed this idea of starting a player as a false 9 and playing some players out of their preferred position it would have gone their way but it can't work on Manchester City, the fast game of City wasn't even included in yesterday's game which means when next they both come against each other I feel it would be very hard for Man UTD that's if they continue with this unserious performance, just an attacker and the rest is settled for UTD.

I'd say Erik ten Hag is no magician. He needs to right players in midfied so he can dominate his opponents. Do you know what's embarrassing, they struggled against youngins in midfied. I would say that too. Most of these players playing for Manchester United are honestly not worth it.
The left back position was handled by Lisandro Martinez, he is not a good fullback in my opinion, he was just making himself available. Luke Shaw has been said to be Injured again. I hope they solve that area before the window ends. Harry Amass? Lads talented but I don't think he's fully ready yet, mind you, he's only 17 years old. They should at least drop Rashford on the bench for the next three to four game so he can learn how to execute for Garnacho. Maybe also reduce his salary. Nonsense!!

Actually, the FA Community Shield is not that important for Manchester City and if they lose then there is no loss felt by Manchester City.

I said it won't work out, go out and make use of your best since all department are functioning like you claimed, this is the time to show working but it seems he (Erik ten Heg) is playing with his job, I only see a man who's getting ready to be fired and for Ruud van Nistelrooy to take over.
Speaking about Onana, he has his own ways of decorating the season in his favor and I'm waiting for more errors coming from him, his good with his feet but he need to do more, protect yourself and let these guys (the defenders) to always go all out before you kick out the ball, building from the back will cause more problem and the defenders don't have that confidence in holding on to the ball for the next 20secs, over confidence is the only thing that's killing the good job he has put together other than that I don't see him messing up.

When Manchester United were leading with a goal, I was expecting them to finish the game that way because Manchester City weren’t really in the game. They dominated the game and has more chances to bury the game earlier but their attack was too blunt. The way they approach the game got me thinking like Manchester city were still mentally on holiday.

For some years now Manchester City have failed to win the community shield.
Sometimes I think they don’t care about the trophy. Other teams struggle to win it so at least they can say they won something that season.
Manchester City knows that during the course of the season they’ll win something a major trophy that’s why they were not pushing harder in the game yesterday.

Ruud was a great striker about 20 years ago and he used to be a legendary player in Old Trafford stadium as well. Manchester United have had problems with striker position recent years and they used a bad approach for solving this problem temporarily with old striker like Alexis Sanchez, Ibrahimovic, Cavani, Ronaldo. This approach helped them in one or two seasons but not longer than that and young players like Martial, Rashford did not grow up too well as expected.

Ruud as either an assistant coach or a head coach, can not play on behalf of strikers in Manchester United and he only can share his experience and skills to these players. Successfully absorb these things through training and coming matches, it's up to players themselves, not Ruud.

I am not sure that Ruud joined the club this summer to take over the head coach position from Ten Hag.

The closing pre-season match between Dortmund vs Aston Villa was won by Dortmund with a score of 2:0, it is very unfortunate that I had to accept defeat thinking there would be many goals in this match Aston Villa did not play well at all, letting the ball be controlled by the Dortmund team even though there were several shots on goal, but Aston Villa failed to score.
Even so, I hope this pre-season match will not be a reference for clubs like Aston Villa who performed impressively last season because they will play more difficult matches this season in participating in the Champions League and also the EPL.
