Most of us are dreaming and hoping that we could used our bitcoin as payments to pay goods and services in the real world a long time ago. But I think it is not going to happen from now on because a lot of crypto users are complaining about the high fees and slow transaction that it takes 30 minutes - 1 hour to complete the transaction.
We are not hopeless yet. Things can be changes sooner and fees will also be lowered.

As we all know that Bitcoin creation is intended for currency and not for investment. Maybe we are too far from happening but I don't feel to decline such a thing cause I believe that moment will come. We are complaining about fees because we are just transferring our Bitcoin to other address/es, but if we are using it to pay our bills, use in buying stuff, it actually we can't feel the fees.

I son't believe that Bitcoin was created to be a currency. The 21 million cap, and the 10 minute block creation time, means that it will never be suitable for volume payments for low value items. It is money, and a great medium of exchange when time is not of the essence. Because of this, I hope it will never appear as a direct payment method in supermarkets. If it does, then it will need an intermediate banking or quasi-banking intervention, and this rather defeats the Bitcoin concept.

This is for the time being and things will again go back to normal but major problem that in many countries there are no such option available where the btc is used as the payment option as merchant does not have it due to not legal in their country or still no proper guidance around it being provided yet.

Just a feeling I have. It's all credit cards and dollars and shit.

Yeah, I'd rather spend the shit money and save my bitcoins, but I can't wait until I can use real money everywhere. I'd rather get paid in bitcoin and spend bitcoin.

It would really be pretty cool to just pay with Bitcoin since won't have to bother converting it into your own currency. Lets just hope some institutions withing our own countries have the time to place Bitcoin somewhere in the market in which it will be really usable within supermarkets. Its cool to have paying groceries without the hassle of using cash since nobody know how much Bitcoin you are carrying anyway.

Using bitcoin payments is cool and easy, bitcoin acceptance has been adopted in several places ranging from coffee, hotels, and many others. Although it is not yet in a famous place and place of interest, the adoption of bitcoin as payment is already planned to be accepted.

I think we will find a different altcoin as a payment method in a supermarket in the future but not the BTC. BTC is much of a store value now and max of the people accumulate like a precious metal. A stable altcoin is a better option maybe.

And LN still has a bigger learning curve than the layer 1 so, It is probably not going to happen any time soon.

Something like doge would work better than btc probably but again, it won't last forever because doge has its limitations too.

Ideally LN will be simpler to use than on-chain, sending transactions is already much simpler because you just have to paste the invoice, which can be done via QR code on mobile devices, so there's less room for error. Opening the channel is probably the hardest part, maybe in the future  there will be specialized wallet software that makes it as easy as possible for non-technical people.

Not only Doge has limiations, like any altcoins it's much more volatile, so it's a really bad currency.

It may sound a nice idea to have bitcoin as a mode of payment at the supermarkets, but before it can happen, there are lots of things to consider.

The technology right now used for transacting with bitcoins isn’t the best just yet. If bitcoin would be used in supermarkets, it wouldn’t be convenient since a single transaction takes for about 10 minutes to be completed. If you’re going to have many transactions, it could take for about an hour or so since per transaction it requires another confirmation. And the consumers and businessmen don’t want that because it would just lengthen the waiting time lining up at the cashier.

Another thing is it has a high transaction fee. It just wouldn’t be practical for you to use it for small transactions because it would cost you more. It can be more appropriate to use it for big transactions only so you can reduce the amount you’d spend for fees.
Good thinking, these are some of the critical issues why bitcoin is not readily accepted by shopping malls or supermarkets. Until these loopholes are filled, some of us may never experience the great feeling of using bitcoin as an immediate medium of exchange of goods and services.

Even though today many people use Bitcoin as a digital asset, it does not rule out the possibility that in the future it can be used
as a currency. Most importantly, we should never stop hoping that one day we can spend Bitcoin in supermarkets. Just start by trying
small things to buy goods from merchants who have accepted Bitcoin payments, small things like this can helped the mass adoption of
Bitcoin.

Using bitcoin is also a good idea, but the most important is where to accept payments for you. Don't treat cash and credit cards as bad, they are both money and valuable. I don't want to stop your bitcoin passions, I love cryptocurrencies and bitcoin too, but you're probably exaggerating.
If it were me, I would use the payment card and then cash, bitcoin ranked last.
Paying with a card accumulates points and can be discounted according to the value of the item, among other offers.
Payment in cash will not incur any costs.
The above two methods were performed almost immediately.
Paying with bitcoin will take a small, slower time and your address will be exposed.

It's going to be easy just scanning the QR code and boom! You have paid for your groceries. I guess it will remove long waiting lines.

simple as that isnt it  ? but that doesnt remove you from waiting . you can be waiting because of limited cashiers , or so many items bought by other costumers  . add in when btc/cryptos are accepted because transaction here wont just process instantly .

your lucky if supermarkets on your place accept btc but what if not ? and the op  concern isnt just about supermarket that accepts a btc but he want to use his btc anywhere .

I think it will be credit card and dollars, Bitcoin and shitI. Prefer spend bitcoin  and save shit money. I can't wait to start using Bitcoin to purchase things in supermarket like the way we are using our normal currency to buy and sell in our environment.

I would like to believe. However, such attempts have already been carried out many times, but in the end everything led to the fact that the projects were not implemented. It is rather difficult to create an ecosystem connecting two links, one regulated, the other not. This is extremely difficult to do at the legal level, except that a fully regulated cryptocurrency will be used instead of Bitcoin. However, this will complicate the exchange of bitcoin for this currency.

In fact, when you pay in a store or anywhere else with bitcoins, it will most likely also happen through plastic cards. So physically, nothing much will change - just as you had cards, so they will remain with you. Only their content will change, but this is generally a minor change in essence. I would prefer if the money took a completely new form.

I agree with you. It is a matter of regulated currency and one that is not. Especially that in the markets, where their activities are saved on a system, and that are constantly being monitored by the government for taxation purpose. Jurisdictions could then complicate such situations.

It's not possible in the future all currency will become Crypto. I'm also waiting do that moment when everyone is using Bitcoin or any other Crypto Currency to pay their grocery, bills, or any sort of payment. But there are also some risk on using crypto currency and there will be always someone who will scam and hack those who have bitcoins.

It might take a while before we will be able to pay directly with Bitcoin in the supermarket. This is in the first place question of regulation.
But if you have one of available Bitcoin debit cards you can pay with Bitcoin already, not just in supermarket but in any other store.
