Since last two yrs from today's date ie 04-09-2020
why BTC is Hanged up between $6000 to #12000

While From 01-08-2017 to 31-12-2017
BTC Shoot up from $2857 to $19495
it is just 4 months Duration.......

while from last two yrs whole community is trying/hoping
that
BTC will reach again more than at its actual level ie 20K...
whole community together is trying to boost BTC......
but every efforts of whole community doesn't work.

Why....

it is not boost up again.......

if we will not analysis this situation
then it might be possible that in near future
we have to spent more BTC to buy only "Single PIZZA"

BTC shot up so high so fast in 2017 because it was overly hyped that even people who don't know a single thing about it just registered a Coinbase account and did a buy order.

So you're question is: "Why.... it is not boost up again.......". Simple, it's because not that much people are buying bitcoin. And if you're not willing to wait for another price rise that's hopefully a lot more sustainable, then go sell your bitcoin. Investing is not for the impatient.

I don't see why there is so much emphasis and expectation that BTC must go up. It's going to do what it does. Zoom out and the trend is still very clear. You don’t take into account at all that halving happened in 2016, and that a bunch of ICOs were in full swing, and also that people completely misinterpreted the BTC futures that happened right at the end of 2017. The media pumped up the whole thing to the maximum, and BTC was everywhere because some expected the price to go up to $100 000.

As a member of this forum since 2014 (if the information is correct) you should know better the answer to some questions and understand what time we live in. We are now in anticipation of the halving effect that happened a few months ago, but nowhere is it determined what the price of Bitcoin will be in 1 month, a year or five years.

What do you think of the price of Bitcoin? That it just repeats itself?

What happened in the past may give you a slight idea of the different probabilities of Bitcoin's next movement but it will never predict it. Bitcoin's price movement does not just replay over and over again, so you cannot just say, "this year and within this certain time range, Bitcoin jumped from this price to that, so this and that must happen during this certain time." That is impatient and foolish of you to think that way.

Nobody is afraid of Bitcoin going dead after it died at least a thousand times already.

Things in the past often repeat in the future, now bitcoin is at a stable price to be able to grow again. Bitcoin has tested the 3k-4k price zone twice, which is a double-bottom pattern. Investors are patient and they will receive a reward. If bitcoin continues to fall in the lower price range once again, it will be catastrophic.

The cycles are becoming longer every time, so if it took us 2014 and 2017 (about 3 years) to reach a new ATH, it's safe to assume that the next cycle will take 4 or even 5 years. We are right now in the our 4th year, everything is fine. Many analysts predict 2022 to be the peak of the next cycle.
Bitcoin is doing fine if you ask me.

Anyway, the general answer to why Bitcoin is tanking is because there is not much demand to push the price.  Possibly, the investor's attention is diverted to DeFi projects since it is selling like hotcakes today.  Just wait and bitcoin market will start to surge again after this DeFi craze and as soon as investors of DeFi make their fund flow to BTC again.

Agree with this. Also in 2017 tether was running its own printing machine and there may have been a bit of foul play involved on their part. A lot of that narrative died down since then though. I think they were able to prove they had the funds. Also just like the DeFi craze now, we had the ICO craze back then. Although I won’t rule out a massive price surge towards the end of this year of early next year. All signs seem to be pointing towards it. So maybe you don’t even have to ge *that* patient

If you are closely familiar about Bitcoin then you can  realize  that Bitcoin is not going to dead so easily.
Here are some points;
1.Bitcoin has the biggest audience in the crypto world.
2.A lot of people here already invests in Bitcoin and they are holding it.(Of course because of some reason)
3. Two years back from now,bitcoin's worth was 16k-20k  usd.so, for holding or investment  sector  patience is very important.

You should understand some things:

1. There are more countries now open towards Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies

2. Much more people know about it ; to the extent that they are even studied in the universities.

3. Bitcoins even though it achieved all time high in 2017; it's more useful in 2020 due to the Pandemic thus people have pretty positive reviews towards it

4. It's not about the price
Price matters for the people who are in the market only because of profits but for the people whose lifestyle saw a big change due to cryptocurrencies; who are earning part time due to Bitcoins ; its different.

As for me usage is more of a priority compared to price. For me it's more valuable in 2020 ; supporting my family through this pandemic it's something that the government couldn't do.

That's the spirit of an optimistic person! But honestly though the fact that BTC is undergoing another drop (which always remember could be much worse) is not a real reason to panic. My eyes would always hurt when I see thread titles like this everytime Btc is having a dip or a correction. These are the same as the weak hands who easily give up their invested Btc once they feel like it's going down in it's worse position.

I think you are too pessimistic, Bitcoin will always adapt to new conditions and advances in technology and take advantage of it. China may have too much influence on mining at the moment, but that is slowly changing and I believe that changes for the better will take place in that sector as well. The next 10 years could be crucial for positioning Bitcoin in the global market, and if we look at how much progress has been made in the first 10 years of existence, I have no doubt that Bitcoin will exist as long as the Internet exists.

All you ever search about was the good year of the Bitcoin you need to move on bro yeah Bitcoin had a huge hype back in 2017 but it wasn't really a good growth you could see that it went down drastically because people didn't really have a proper knowledge about what they are investing in.

Hype are always there as it is part of how the crypto market works and with regards to your subject that btc is going to dead, I am not so sure whether it will eventually to happen because as of this moment there is a very small chance that it will happen.

The demand of bitcoin is there and it's dominance is still sitting at 50% so it is very opposite to what is your subject all about. Every efforts will not be wasted even if it doesn't

I don't see any reason why we should compare what happened in the past to the current situation we have now. Bitcoin was too overhype way back then perhaps because a lot of people invest in it as the news explode regards with Bitcoin. You need to stop placing so high an emphasis on price. As with all markets/stock/commodities and so on prices move upwards and downwards based on supply and demand and market conditions, just because something drops in value doesn't mean it is going to die. The only way BTC or anything else for that matter could die is if people no longer feel it is of use to them or provides no more value to them, all this is irrelevant of the price of the product itself.

Based on what you have written it seems that you don't really understand the concept of Bitcoin and have most likely purchased more than you are comfortable with and at a higher price then it is at today and you are now simply panicking.

This is unfortunately true for many people on here who buy into bitcoin something based on the encouragement of friends/colleagues or after having read some foolish news article.

During this period bitcoin and altcoin created a lot of media attention which bring more people into investing in the coin. I believe that bitcoin's price will increase again and it will reach another ATH again maybe next year.

I also hold altcoins but I must say that BTC is not dead because it reached $12k last month which is a good sign that bitcoin is really moving. The only question is that, until when we will hold it? agree with your opinion, it took bitcoin several times to break through $ 12K to stay there for a long time so it is certain that the journey to increase is imminent.

BTC shot up so high so fast in 2017 because it was overly hyped that even people who don't know a single thing about it just registered a Coinbase account and did a buy order.

Whales that time had made it hype with their capacity to invest more bitcoin. After they see the hype they invested more bitcoin and wait for the target to sell. Not only the whales but also to the bitcoin community who had still extra financial who made to buy more because of the hype. If we will going to compute how the community added the hype or increase during the 2017 if there are 5 million bitcoin users around the world and then hold 1 btc or let us say they had invested 1k$ of bitcoin then multiply the number of users which is 5M the result would be that huge enough to move bitcoin to even up to 30k$. The quantity or number of users and the investing capacity cause the hype.

it is a a digital currency but it's different from the other virtual currency because most of them are plain predictable but btc isnt so you need to specify btc properly the next time you write .

Also not all crypto currency are same as btc because others are stable and partially stable which is also easily predictable . Laslty stock market has no connection on the life span of btc   .

Bitcoin will not die because it is on the CME market but so it will fluctuate within a price limit. Bitcoin's transaction volume is currently very large, with a seller, someone will buy them. no matter what the OP or others are saying about btc going to be dead, those of us believers will not be affected by such speculation. we know within ourselves, that this kind of statement has no basis. even if he is comparing those previous years. as others have said, he's only looking at the price level but not in the adoption facet of btc.

Bitcoin might slog around for years just like it has lately. If we want to keep it as a relatively decentralized payment method, there are several things that will have to happen:
1. We will need thousands or millions of people, with multitudes of terabytes of memory in their home computers, to run full nodes and maintain the bloated blockchain. If we don't get these people, the blockchain will become centralized by the few big operators who will have this kind of memory, and we will lose the greatest advantage we have with crypto, decentralization;
2. We will need high speed Internet to the tune of at least 5G. 6G is being looked at, even though 5G hasn't been implemented to any great degree. We need this so that the kinds of transaction volume that will come along in the future will be able to be handled;
3. The reason the Devs haven't expanded beyond 1mb blocks is to keep transactions to a minimum, so the blockchain doesn't become bloated before we have new household computers, and Internet capability to handle it. Once we are ready with the LARGE hard drives and the FAST Internet, the Devs have to be ready to increase the block size so that more transactions can be handled, cheaply. This means that everybody who is running a full node will have to get the new Core app;
4. We will need more efficient computers to use less electricity when mining. This will allow more people to run full nodes and mine. Hopefully this will keep the miner's fee down through mining competition. We can expand into households and small business with the low miner fee, and be competitive;
5. All this depends on what governments and banks will do to keep a monopoly on fiat.


It seems that Bitcoin is a payment method that arrived before technology was ready for it... before its time, so to speak. Let's hope we can make it work in the near future, before people give up on it altogether.

   Don't be misled by the headline and this topic, we had so many of them and Bitcoin is still alive and well. And the price is rising,
just check where the price was in the beginning of this year, and then check the price now. This drop is what we expected to
happen, the price can't rise all the time.

I'm still puzzled as to why many people keep buying (or "invest") in bitcoin, or believe that it's a "store of value," especially when a lot of merchants stopped accepting it as a form of payment (Amazon, Expedia, Microsoft, etc.)

There is no question that Bitcoin went a long way (they now have ATM's worldwide, you can get a debt/credit card with bitcoin, and you can purchase gift cards to pay for Amazon, Ebay, etc. from certain websites, and I really like the fact that I don't need to pay fees exchanging currencies when I'm abroad.) However, do you really think that Bitcoin will survive in the long-run? I mean if the market is so volatile why would companies accept bitcoin and risk losing their money (the value of Bitcoin could tremendously decrease after the sales transactions?) Furthermore, do you really think that governments will allow such creation to replace their currency (causing them to lose power?)

Bitcoin is a threat to governments, its central banks, and banking institutions in general. There will be a lot of unemployment if the role of central banks is eliminated.

Bitcoin IMO is a disaster waiting to happen (and let's not fool ourselves here, most of the people who keep the market alive by trading in it are in it for the profits, not the ideology.) Most of you (including myself) are in it for the "long-term profit." Am I wrong here?

why BTC is Hanged up between $6000 to #12000

While From 01-08-2017 to 31-12-2017
BTC Shoot up from $2857 to $19495
it is just 4 months Duration.......

while from last two yrs whole community is trying/hoping
that
BTC will reach again more than at its actual level ie 20K...
whole community together is trying to boost BTC......
but every efforts of whole community doesn't work.

Don't doubt about bitcoin because bitcoin is a decentralized currency and has quite a number of uses. In the past, bitcoin prices only ranged from $ 6,000 to $ 12,000 and at that time there were still many who said bitcoin was very expensive than in previous years. at this time we can see an increase in bitcoin prices from 2020 to the present, which is a very far increase compared to the increase in bitcoin prices in previous years, this increase occurs because more and more investors buy bitcoin from year to year.

I don't see why there is so much emphasis and expectation that BTC must go up. It's going to do what it does. Zoom out and the trend is still very clear. Anyways if you are a good trader you will make a profit regardless of BTC price. And if you are in it for the tech, it still works equally as well if the price is $0.01 USD or $100,000.00 USD.

This assumption is not an emphasis but an expectation on bitcoin price which has not been developed for some time. but look at this year the price of bitcoin has soared incredibly and this can be used as the most fantastical upward trend in bitcoin

1) fees charged by all is different.....!
    There is a huge Gap between Buying Rate & Selling rate....
    Withdrawal Charges not altered from time to time as the BTC rate is going High...

2) BTC failed to focus on earlier project (Old is Gold base).....    ​

everyone is too hopeful that btc will continue to rise but their expectations are not in line with the existing reality, for people who have long held bitcoin as an investment this may be a common thing because in previous years something like this also happened. but for people who are just starting out and buying btc at a fairly large price because they are tempted by yesterday's price increase which was expected to reach $ 60k this is a big enough blow that they start complaining about the decrease and correction of btc that is happening now.
Be patient, friend, don't be too exaggerated because sometimes the expectations you expect are not necessarily in line with reality.

No it wouldn't die it is the other way around Bitcoin or crypto is surely here to stay.
It was different back in 2017 and in the recent increase before the dump.
I believe that in 2017 people are buying it even if they don't know a thing about it because it was being spread too much in the internet and the price was climbing too fast so they don't want to miss it.
And when the decline started they panic so all of those who just bought it because of the hype has sold their crypto and left (I think).
And in 2020 people are already aware of it and almost everyone knows or heard about Bitcoin or crypto currency and also not to mention that in 2020 more companies or corporate are already investor,
So it would be hard to think that with those huge number of investors and companies it would just die,
We who have experience the 2018 continues dump would surely know that this isn't the first time and wouldn't be the last so calm down and enjoy it while you can,
You might never know when would the next 2017,2020 pump would happen again and you might regret not investing when it was on low price.

Bitcoin has gone through tough times many times, so give Bitcoin time to recover. And we must be optimistic and believe that Bitcoin will recover,
therefore what we need to do is be patient with holding our Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin until now has proven to be the strongest crypto, so the current

It can't die, we have seen it drop from a low 5 digit to a low 4 digit number back in 2017 so how can we be so sure that bitcoin is going to die this time? I am not sure what OP is talking about but I assume that it is about the pattern which I completely can debunk if I let OP look at the charts for 2018 and 2021, the crash happened in January 2018 but this didn't happen this year which means that it is different this year.

I think we are missing something here, at the time op made this post btc price was probably below 30k ^{am assuming not sure} but since then when btc hit ath above 60k did the op visit this thread back to acknowledge his short-sightedness about btc and the whole market movement,  I don't think so, same thing is happening again now, many people just making thread about btc dying because of a price dump that we should be familiar with by now.

You just can say that bitcoin will die, bitcoin will be down or whatever just because the price today is not what you expected. currently bitcoin is still holding between $30K-$40K and is still in a stable position and has never fallen below the crucial price of $30K, if it does happen we will see further impacts but I believe that bitcoin will be able to rise again, obviously there is still a long way to go for bitcoin to move better again.

I'm pretty confident that BTC wont drop down in price to the point that we'll spend thousands of BTC just for a "single pizza". Analyze the situation carefully OP. The market is influenced by supply and demand, in each passing year BTC is gaining more and more popularity from people across the globe. Even popular people are now acknowledging its value, take Elon Musk as an example. BTC currently exceeded 20k, it was recently priced at 50k. Of course it wouldnt stay that way, as it is unstable. Now it is back to 30k but atleast it hasnt dropped down drastically.

Ups and downs are an integral part of Bitcoin market. Those who have a problem with that should stay away from Bitcoin and divert their funds to more stable assets such as treasury bonds and bank deposits. For long term holders like me, these short term fluctuations doesn't make any difference. I first invested in Bitcoin almost 9 years ago (in 2012), and the current exchanges represent a 400x increase from my initial purchase price. But for some people, they are more contend with a gradual 2x return. In such cases, I don't want to argue with them.

First of all, every commodity that is in existence has already existed either as itself or as another commodity. Thay is why there is always a track or phases of operations or life cycle of BTC.
Looking at the way BTC is going, you should understand that BTC no matter its massive adoption is still in the adoption phase. So, more people are yet to join the project. 
This then means there are many years of expected growth in the future.

But it is wrong to say that the efforts of the forum is not getting results.
You might not see it now, just as the name implies "campaign". So are converted same day while others will home and sleep over the information.

BTC shot up so high so fast in 2017 because it was overly hyped that even people who don't know a single thing about it just registered a Coinbase account and did a buy order.

So you're question is: "Why.... it is not boost up again.......". Simple, it's because not that much people are buying bitcoin. And if you're not willing to wait for another price rise that's hopefully a lot more sustainable, then go sell your bitcoin. Investing is not for the impatient.

This is actually a good sign to invest in bitcoin because with a lot of fear and uncertainty in the market, people are selling at a loss and with the market going down, it will be an opportunity for the other smart investor to buy bitcoin at a really low price and hodl it for long-term and wait for the profits to come in.

in 2013 and 2017 the rise of btc was peppered with people who were just learning about crypto and a lot of fomo were buying btc so btc was growing so fast, but for now it's different because only some people are still buying btc because if you look at btc it's too expensive and only certain people dare to hold it and of course people who are weak in holding coins don't dare to invest here, they prefer altcoins because apart from a lot of coins there, the coins are also relatively affordable in price.
that is the reason why the atmosphere in buying btc is less in the current period.

I really like your mindset, sometimes this kind of mindset is highly recommended because basically if you think negatively then the result will be negative but on the contrary if you think positive then the result will be beautiful.

BTC moving up and down at 50K. It is firming it's base for nezt level. What next if it reach to 500k ie Half Million.
Still it use as gambling/speculative coin or much more than that....
