Great quotes but I would only like to add one important thing. They are all related to poker-like games. Player vs player games where none of players has any statistic advantage over others. Here your strategy (mainly money managment) and given rules may work. Nothing will ever work in games with house edge that are based only on luck. Any strategy, motivation, different approach will only make you lose more. The more you play to more you lose.

Both poker player and investor/trader have the same crucial skill - ability to responsibly manage funds under pressure. The only difference is the first one is betting based on his hand and other one is betting based on market data that he knows (that is sometimes even less than 5 out of 52 (insiders etc.). Both poker player and investor/trader have the same crucial skill - ability to responsibly manage funds under pressure. The only difference is the first one is betting based on his hand and other one is betting based on market data that he knows (that is sometimes even less than 5 out of 52 (insiders etc.). This is not bad at all, quit while we still can or else you're fall on a big trap of gambling. I've learned an expensive lesson before in gambling since I became more greedy and didn't think of stopping playing until my all capital burned out.

Point 2 would be faced by many or say almost all of them at some point in their gambling life during initial days or may be now as well when they gamble and lose it then they start playing to recover the losses. I don't that this is a good quote for gambling nor having a right and correct thought at all. Basically, luck is just a mere chance of winning, a thing that we cannot see nor expect and predict to come. Hence, no matter what preparations we made and opportunities we have nor having such preparations meets those opportunities, luck still is a mist and a mystery that no one has been mastered.

Yeah, that's true, there are some people who can't control themselves while gambling, that is why they end up losing so much money. Limiting ourselves is really important while we ate playing, we should not play continuously in a way that some of the important things that we should do are being forgotten because you are only focused on gambling.
