I am already very curious to see how Dominik Thiem will perform in his first tournament as "Grand Slam" winner. The match yesterday against Cilic was never in danger, he made it through the game without any problems and deserved to win. He will now play tomorrow against J. Sock, whom I personally do not know and cannot estimate. But he was already in the top 10, so he is certainly not to be underestimated, even if he is not yet in top form again. Would like to share a well written analysis: Roland Garros: Dominic Thiem vs Jack Sock preview, head-to-head & prediction | French Open 2020

I did not see any full matches at all, just some highlights and few games of the Gauff-Konta match. For the men, I think either Thiem or Nadal will win it. And for the women I think either Halep or Kenin will win it. @JollyGood did you see Medvedev breaking his racquet and earning a penalty point for it, and due to that additional penalty point he lost the second set of the game. Also he ended up loosing the match, and earned himself a new record of crashing out at the first round of Roland Garros for four successive years. Lastly I’m glad that Nadal won and has progressed ahead, as he’s my favourite to win this tournament despite his recent objections regarding the tournament.

JollyGood, I don't know if you did it on purpose, but Roland Garros has now moving roofs over the courts, so no more water on the clay !
Nadal complaining about the conditions is thus a bit rich, the fact the tournament is now instead of June is of course due to the pandemic, deal with it !

In fact there is only one roof, on the Philippe-Chatrier court. That's why several matchs have been interrupted today.

Last year's finalists bend their opponents in "record time" or at least with little effort as it currently seems: Last year's champion and finalist on cruise control. https://twitter.com/Tennis/status/1311299305542578176I'm curious whether the two finalists of the last two years will make it back to the finals or meet each other beforehand?

The performance of Dominik Thiem is very impressive today. I would not have expected him to have so few problems with J. Sock in the first two movements. Especially the first set with 6:1 speaks volumes and has shown in which top form Thiem is at the moment - when he really gets into the game. I'm curious whether the two finalists of the last two years will make it back to the finals or meet each other beforehand?
According to the grid, they can't meet at all before the semi-final, they are each in the other half: On paper, Thiem would have the easier group in my opinion, Nadal has to pass Zverev to reach the semi-finals, who is also playing in very good form at the moment Link to the gridCaution: The grid is a pdf not uploaded by me, it originates from here

Yes this time of year the weather will not be great. Nadal and others have been complaining of the cold weather. I hope the tournament will continue without any drama from the players. In fact there is only one roof, on the Philippe-Chatrier court. That's why several matchs have been interrupted today.

According to the favorites, it should be a final Djokovic vs. Nadal / Thiem. That's correct Nadal has the difficult way, but in Paris Nadal is a power.

Berten leaves the court in a wheel chair after her second round win over Errani earlier today
Another sad news ... Serena Williams withdrew from the tournament shortly before her second-round appearance against Zwetana Pironkowa scheduled for today. Personally, I find that a great pity. I would have believed her capable of breaking Margaret Courts' all-time record of 24 Grand Slam singles this year. I hope she'll get another chance next year. Her left Achilles tendon already hindered her in the semi-finals of the US Open - which she lost.

Her left Achilles tendon already hindered her in the semi-finals of the US Open - which she lost. I was not having high hopes of Serena Williams winning the tournament as she was not in her best touch in the US open, often loosing a set against Sloane Stephens, Maria Sakkari and Tsvetana Pironkova and then coming into the final she lost the match. May be she is injured coming into the tournament and hence she was not performing but i though age was the reason. Zverev wins in 5 sets after 3 hours and 59 minutes of playing. Unseeded Herbet put up a great fight but Zverev won after nearly 4 hours of play.
I made a parlay and with Zverev winning the match but when he lost the first set and then he was 4 down in the second set i cashed out at a loss, i thought he had an off day but his love for playing long might hurt him moving forward.

Thiem looked good, yes... but I'm not sure it's a big surprise as he has a great record in Paris, and has been the runner-up for the last 2 years. Overcoming the almost invincible Nadal is of course the main challenge for anyone here.
It's becoming increasingly unlikely. Certainly she still has a chance, but as players get older it becomes more difficult to sustain a physical peak across the full duration of a slam. Plus I think there is a mental barrier for Serena to overcome. I did actually post (in another thread) just before she withdrew that I think she may struggle to win another slam: Serena Williams advance to second round, She only had a tough match in the first set against Ahn.
I am starting to think that she won't win another slam. She has stumbled quite a few times in the later stages of finals recently, and she is also showing uncharacteristic vulnerabilities as in the first round here. The second set was easy, but the first really was not. I think the problem is mainly mental, but obviously with each tournament the physical side becomes harder as she nears retirement.

Her left Achilles tendon already hindered her in the semi-finals of the US Open - which she lost. Serena had some chances this last couple of years to win her 24th grand slam, but lost a couple of finals and now I don't think she will ever win a grand slam. She is 39 years old, is getting injured more often and as Cnut mentioned there is a mental barrier that she need to overcome. I think Halep has the best chances to win her second French Open.

~ Serena not being her best in the US open cant be used to judge her performance in the French open and I believe she actually planned to be the winner of this year French open before she had to withdraw because of her achilles injury. Besides, by looking at her during her interview you will feel that she was hurt.
Now that Serena Williams is out of the competition, I expect Simona Halep or Karolina Pliskova to be the winner of this year's women French open.
I am a betting man and when i place a bet i look at their recent performance rather than their past glories to predict how far they can go and how they will perform if they have an off day on the court. She was struggling with her fitness and it was evident in the US open and now she had to withdraw from the tournament because of injury. If you are picking the event winner and if you picked Serena Williams you would lose money if you are not looking at their recent performance.
In my view the dark horse of the tournament is Garbine Muguruza and she might win the tournament. In men's i am picking Novak Djokovic.

You're betting man indeed but you seems not to understand that even using players current performance category to predict who's going to win the game is still an incomplete strategy and it will fail you so bad because the game venue surface also play an important when predicting the winner of a tennis game cause some player are good in clay surface while some are good in hardcourt.

OP updated Thiem through in straight sets. Now that he has won his maiden Grand Slam at the US Open in September 2020, he is playing like a true Grand Slam champion who will try to make it a hat-trick of consecutive French Open finals His record at the French Open is excellent considering he has been living in the era of Nadal: Thiem recent record at the French Open2016: semi-final 2017: semi-final 2018: runner-up 2019: runner up

No mention of Gaston beating Wawrinka ? Ah yes I see it in the OP.
Usually I watch the tournament at work but this time I wasn't watching, too bad ! I find it funny how his name and surname are so French. From what I'm hearing he was good at surprising the Swiss.
I wouldn't bet on him against Thiem, though, what do you think ?

Dominic Thiem was not at his best performance, but was able to beat Norway's Casper Ruud. Thiem also feels that his level of play has increased after defeating Ruud, and will advance to the fourth round of the 2020 French Open. Casper Ruud wants to follow in the footsteps of his father Christian Ruud who made it to the fourth round at the 1997 Australian Open. But Casper's performance was not strong enough to overthrow Dominic Thiem. Next, Thiem will challenge Hugo Gaston, who is still 20 years old, where Hugo beat Stan Wawrinka.

~ You're betting man indeed but you seems not to understand that even using players current performance category to predict who's going to win the game is still an incomplete strategy and it will fail you so bad because the game venue surface also play an important when predicting the winner of a tennis game cause some player are good in clay surface while some are good in hardcourt. So you are aware that certain players are good in certain conditions and what is the strong point of Serena Williams, how many clay tournaments she won, majority of her wins are in hard court and she just won three French Open titles even during her prime playing days and she is not in her prime form after the pregnancy and she lost many matches after that and coming into this series she was already having injury. You might analyse differently but the way i go about is to take into account their recent performance than the entire career average and performance.

Also I don't think it's age in itself that takes its toll on her, at least not yet, but rather the length of her career. Having exerted her body day in, day out, for most of her life, for 25 years at a very high level, every injury, every ache, is not something new, it's something that is coming back. So at some point it's too much.

Very hard game for Thiem yesterday, incredible stop balls from Gaston , the next matches at tis "line" are interesting and for the half-finals, the last finale in 2019 is possible. But Thiem are the only who's get over 5 sets, the regeneration is very critical.

For people like Zverev which I expect to see in quater or semi final to be out of the game in fourth round, will could see a new champion in this year French open if Nadal was unable to beat J Sinner which rule of Zverev of this year French open. In the meantime, A. Rublev is on the quarter final while S. Tsitsipas is doing good in todays game

But Thiem are the only who's get over 5 sets, the regeneration is very critical. Yesterday game was hard for him (Thiem) but he still manages to win in style and I hope he also wins tomorrow quarter-final against D. Schwartzman cause I will love to see him and Rafael Nadal battle in the semifinals of this year French open due to what happened between him and Nadal in the last year single men's final.

Djokovic vs Khachanov will be an interesting match. I think Khachanov will pose a big problem for Djokovic. I think Djokovic will lose this match The first 7 games of the first set was really interesting and then Djokovic stamped his authority by winning the first set easily and he is in good form and it will take a monumental performance from Karen Khachanov to win a set against Djokovic and if everything goes as usual we will see a final between Rafael Nadal and Djokovic and it will be an epic battle.

I think Djokovic will lose this match I am watching right now the match, and it seems there is no match between two players. Djokovic is another level, not too much to say. He is going to win the second set (current score 4-1). Khachanov is a discrete player for sure, but isn't at the same level of a top player.

@JollyGood I’m not sure why you thought that Djokovic would loose this match, because he’s had an amazing streak in 2020, hence there was no way he would have lost this match. Furthermore Djokovic has won this match comfortably, and now like you’ll I'm eagerly waiting for his clash with Nadal (if that happens), but in that match I’ll be rooting for Nadal to beat Djokovic. source: https://www.atptour.com/en/news/djokovic-khachanov-roland-garros-2020-r4

Rafael Nadal is the king of clay but i doubt he is completely fit coming into the French Open and on the other hand Novak Djokovic is in good touch and all the controversies surrounded him outside of the tennis court and the exit because of a silly mistake in the US open will motivate him to win the French open and it will be a classic if both are injury free.

Today the last finalists have there quarterfinal matches, when Nadal and Thiem win than we see the last year final. But Rolland-Garros is like Nadals living room and is very hard to beat him so i think when today Nadal and Thiem win, Thiem will pull the shorter one again this year, he also had the harder matches so far. And the Final will probably Nadal vs. Djokovic.

It does look that way. The men's draw is a lot more predictable than the women's has been! Thiem doesn't look like he'll reach the final again, because Nadal stands in his way. Nadal looks invincible, but so does Djokovic... and something has to give. I would still bet on Nadal, just because it's the French. If it was anywhere else, or just not on clay, then Djokovic would be the clear favourite.

No one even came close to duex him let alone win a set against. The french open has for some years revolving around Nadal, Thiem and Djokovic. As Thiem too had an impressive performance, loosing a set only against Gatson, he could be a larger challenge to Nadal than Djokovic. But Nadal have an much impressive run and looks undefetable on clay. No chance for Djokovic as well, Theim could have easily beaten Djokovic if they had met on semis.

The french open has for some years revolving around Nadal, Thiem and Djokovic.
Nadal looks stronger than Djokovic at the French, so should be favourite to win. But Thiem is a potential complicating factor, as he plays Nadal in the semis. If Nadal has a tough fight against Thiem whilst Djokovic has a simple straight sets win against his opponent, then there's a chance that Nadal enters the final tired and drained, but Djokovic enters fresh and raring to go. I'd still favour Nadal, but this is one factor that might tilt the balance somewhat towards Djokovic winning.

That's right but for all two, a very long, intense and already exhausting game today. The final outcome is still uncertain, Thiem currently only has a small advantage over Schwarzman. I'm already looking forward to Nadal's game, 3 set game or can the young Italian surprise?

The thing that might go to Nadal's favour is the fact that at the moment Djokovic isn't so well prepared in psychological sense and he had some issues recently so that might be crucial for him. But everything is still open.

I am not undermining her as a player but if you are betting on an individual get rid of the emotions and strictly focus on her performance if your plan is to win bets .
Diego Schwartzman prevailed in the end, it was really competitive for 4 sets and Dominic Thiem lost it completely in the fifth round.

Schwartzman beat Thiem so on the face of it he should be a good match for Nadal, however Thiem looked tired/cramped from the beginning of the match, so in practice I expect Nadal to win easily.
Nadal against Sinner seemed a bit slow to get into it but once he came back and took the first set, I was sure it was over for Sinner.

I also see this and see it the way you do, Thiem make more matches and sets the last days/weeks and looks from the beginning tired. He still wanted to win the 4th set, in the 5th one saw that the strength and lust wasn't there anymore. So also with the last ball, somehow he didn't care about the last ball. Nadal makes the next game at Paris without a set lose. Amazing

Nadal makes the next game at Paris without a set lose. Amazing Not amazing for Nadal, just standard at the French Djokovic hasn't lost a set yet either. I've just counted back, he's lost 25 games in 4 matches, so roughly equivalent to winning every set 6-2 across those 4 matches - or a double-break each time. Obviously the opponents get somewhat tougher as the rounds progress. Now that Thiem is out, Djokovic looks to have the slightly tougher route to the final, which should give Nadal the advantage for when they inevitably meet up.

Now that Thiem is out, Djokovic looks to have the slightly tougher route to the final, which should give Nadal the advantage for when they inevitably meet up. I don't think that Nadal will have a tougher route though. He will be facing Diego Schwartzman, the man who beat Dominic Thiem it a classic five set thriller. He had beaten a two time runner up against Nadal in two years, so it won't be that easy for Nadal. So let us see if Nadal could continue without dropping a set against Schwartzman, but he should be wary about Diego here. During the post-match conference, Nadal talked highly about Schwartzman’s performance and admitted that the Argentine defeated one of the best players in the world. Thiem has been the runner-up at the French Open successively for the last two years and even won the US Open last month.
“Of course, is a challenge. When you lost to somebody, is because he’s playing well. Today he played an amazing match against one of the best players of the world, without a doubt, especially on this surface.” said Nadal. https://www.essentiallysports.com/rafael-nadal-wary-of-diego-schwartzman-challenge-in-french-open-2020-semifinals-atp-tennis-news/On the contrary, Djokovic might be the one having an an easy route, if he beats Carreno-Busta, he will be facing either Rublev or Tsitsipas, in which Djokovic has an advantage H2H on Tsitsipas. As for Rublev though they haven't face each other, but nevertheless, I would say he has the advantage as well.

Tsitsipas vs Rublev live right now. It seems Tsitsipas better placed then the adversary he has won the first set recovering from a break point. Personally I see the Greek player in advantage for this match, I am bullish on it. Meanwhile Djokovic should have a very easy game today against Carreno-Busta...

Clay may not be her stronghold but she had won many clay game even in this tournament either and she was three times the winner of the French open if I could remember correctly. Besides, the Iga Świątek and N. Podoroska qualification for the Semis is enough to show that Serena have better chance in this year French open if nothing happens to her. Thiem really misses his chance, lets how Schwartzman will play when he faces Nadal.

Djokovic it's really from another level. Players like Carreno-Busta must play a lot and improve more to be able to win a match against him. The first set has seen the Spanish collect a win but I was not surprised to much (the first set lose by Djokovic). Odds have touched @1.4 - @1.45 since we are talking about a top player, it was a really bargain offer!

Right, it's somewhat very un-Djokovic, losing the first set to Busta, I do hope that somewhat make a bet on Busta to at least win one set. But Djokovic regroup and didn't let that first set bother him and then outclassed his opponent and shows why he is the top seed. However, there are reports that Djokovic is injured his arm so this is something that we need to look at specially his next match against Tsitsipas. The Greek freak of tennis won in straight set against Rublev, it looks like Rublev is exhausted and take is the key to Tsitsipas winning against him. So Djokovic and Tsitsipas will meet on the semi-finals.

Maybe he genuinely is nursing an injury, but I'm skeptical. He does have a past history on this. Whenever he is in trouble in a match, he has been known to suddenly start limping or rubbing his shoulder or calling on the trainer... but miraculously it doesn't seem to ever affect his play. I'm a UK fan, and I've seen him do this time and time again when playing Andy Murray over the years. It does become a bit of a 'boy who cried wolf' situation, so that if he does ever actually start carrying an injury, people won't believe him. "Each time he is in trouble he usually does it, that means to say that he was in trouble, that he wasn't comfortable and that I was playing at a high level and was causing him to doubt himself," Carreno Busta told reporters in Spanish. "Every time a match gets complicated he asks for medical assistance. He has been doing this for a long time. I already knew that. I knew it would happen at the US Open, I knew it would happen here and I know it will keep on happening. "I don't know if it's something chronic in his shoulder or just mental, but he didn't put me off." https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/tennis/novak-djokovic-pablo-carreno-busta-french-open-quarter-final-injury-b883031.html

Both Swiatek and Kenin played beautifully in todays game and it will nice if Iga Swiatek win in the final due to her age so we can have a young winner but I believe Kenin have the better chance to win this year women single French open. We never can tell though.

"I don't know if it's something chronic in his shoulder or just mental, but he didn't put me off.
"I don't know, maybe it's the pressure or something that he needs to do it. But he continues playing normal, no? I don't know if he's in pain really or he has mental issues. Ask him."Now that is saying it Djokovic has a history of complaining about body aches and pains in games then he comes out all cylinders firing after fooling the opponent. Disgraceful behaviour by a top level professional tennis player.

Exciting day today with the semi-finals, I'm curious whether and how many sets Nadal and Djokovic will deliver today. Good to see that the semi finals not to late, the temperatures are already getting a bit colder in the evening, which is not really beneficial for the players.

Nadal already won set 1 of the match. I am sure he will win as a revenge after Schwartzman won last match against him in Romania. It was the only match Schwartzman won against Nadal since 2013. The match between Djokovic and Tsitsipas is the most interesting imo. According to stastics, they have equal chances. About temperatures, Djokovic and Tsitsipas will have to play in colder time but i don't think this will infect their capacities .

I believe he was suffering from a mild version of asthma which was said to get worse but his love for tennis is what keep him going.

I was not aware of the long lasting health issues of Novak Djokovic and i am watching the match i thought it would be an easy match for Novak Djokovic but Stefanos Tsitsipas surprised me by coming back strong after Djokovic was on match point in the third set and then come back to win that set and then winning the 4th set as well and the first game of the fifth set and if Stefanos Tsitsipas wins it would be a great comeback against one of the best players but i am still rooting for Novak Djokovic to win the match.
Edit: We have Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal in the final.
I stopped watching the match and magically Novak Djokovic won the rest of the games. I have to watch what happened because when i was watching Djokovic was struggling with the backhand return of Stefanos.

Unfortunately I think we have not the final only... we have the winner of the tournament too. Djokovic is not in good enough shape to beat Nadal. Odds for him to win the contest are very small. It's sad for him

It's the men's final that everyone predicted... but who is the favourite? If anyone is interested, I've gathered the relevant stats: - Nadal has got to the final without dropping a set, but Djokovic has dropped 3 sets as he faced tougher opponents in each round - 1 in the quarters, 2 in the semis.
- Djokovic is undefeated in 2020, winning 37 matches (ignoring the US disqualification), whereas Nadal has lost a few times this year.
- Nadal has lost only twice in fifteen years at the French... but one of those losses, in 2015, was in straight sets to Djokovic.
- ... But this was a rare off-year for Nadal; he was only seeded sixth.
- The overall record in head-to-heads at the French is 6-1 to Nadal, but they haven't met here since that 2015 match.
Which is the crucial factor here? It could of course go either way. I have favoured Nadal throughout the tournament, but now I'm torn.

However Djokovic does have some advantage too as the balls used are heavy and these balls favour Djokovic more than they favour Nadal, but I’m yet hoping that Nadal will win this game, because I’ll be totally disappointed if he loses. I think this is what' important, at least for me, we thought that Schwartzman will be a big test for Nadal. But as the way thing turns out, Nadal didn't give any breathing room to Schwartzman and won in straight sets continuing his massive game of not dropping a set. It could be that Djokovic could give Nadal his first set lost, but it doesn't matter as long as Nadal won in the end. Also Djokovic defeated Stepanos in five sets, so it must have been taken it's toll on his body, while Nadal will be fresh as he disposes Schwartzman in 3 sets. Another concern is Djokovic supposedly injury, so it's also a big concern.[/list]

However, Djokovic won 55% of all the game he played against Nadal so theres still chance for him to win tomorrow.

55% overall. But the odds are likely to be heavily on Nadals side on a clay court. Nadal is the king of clay court. Most of his Grand Slam wins is French Open. I don't think Djokovic would be any match for Nadal this year too. Nadal have won 12 of last 15 French open. The women's single too is getting excited on the first set. Kenin is giving a tough competition to Swiatek. I still think Swiatek would come victorious without a doubt.

Well well... Nadal beats Schwartzman in straight sets to reach the final. Djokovic beats Tsitsipas in 5 sets to reach the final. Nadal vs Djokovic is the final tomorrow. As for Swiatek beating Kenin today, well done to her for winning her first Grand Slam. Kenin was injured so wishing her a speedy recovery.

Current odds on Bitsler - Djokovic at 2.27 while Nadal at 1.67 Djokovic vs. Nadal is tricky regardless of where they play. They know each other all too well. Most players have a fear factor against Rafa but Djoker isn't one of them. - Nadal might be the King of Clay but Djokovic has the edge H2H.
- Djoker's last win over Rafa on clay was 2016 (Rome). They've met three times on clay since then and Rafa won all their matches.
Normally, you would consider fatigue if the opponent had more sets to finish their previous match but Djokovic is still a top athlete. Five sets are nothing to these guys. What are the odds the Finals will end in four or five sets? I'm looking to bet on "Winner & Total".

Is it is going to be a 5 set thriller that takes Nadal on equal number of Grand Slams won with the great Roger Federer or will it take Djokovic winning the same number of Grand Slams level with Nadal and one behind Federer?

For the record, the two have meet 55 times and Djokovic was able to beat Nadal 29 times while Nadal beat him 26 times.

Rafael Nadal is the undisputed best player in history in this surface and after watching the semi by Novak Djokovic where he struggled to convert the match point and loosing the set and you cannot expect the same kind of recovery against Nadal and no wonder the odds are in his favor, what ever the situation may be it will be one hell of a match and will make bets live rather than placing any bets beforehand.

I cannot pick who is going to win that's why I just placed a bet on both Either winners at over 40.5 I think is a safe bet because there's a high probability that this match will end in four or five sets with tie-breakers in between. I'd be damned if it doesn't. Winner & Total odds - Novak at 4 / Nadal at 3.43 Best of luck bettors.

In the women's division, there is a bit of shake-up, as a 50+ player lifts the trophy for this year, Iga Swiatek. She won against a disgruntled Sofia Kenin in straight sets, 6-4 6-1. She re-wrote a lot in women's tennis history. - become the youngest women’s French Open champion since 1992 at the age of 19
- 54 the lowest-ranked woman to capture the Roland Garros title in the modern era
- She is the first teenage champion since Iva Majoli in 1997
- Swiatek also became just the second unseeded women’s Roland Garros champion in the Open era, joining Jelena Ostapenko who claimed a shock title three years ago
- She eclipsed the run of compatriot Jadwiga Jedrzejowska — the most outstanding Polish player of the interwar period — who finished runner-up at Roland Garros in 1939
- Swiatek was only the second Polish woman to reach a Grand Slam final in the Open era after Agnieszka Radwanska at Wimbledon in 2012
https://www.foxsports.com.au/tennis/french-open/french-open-2020-iga-swiatek-def-sofia-kenin-score-result-video/news-story/d4fedb29e9447eed0d7f73a8f6d79f96The future really looks bright and could be very well compete with the top 5 women's now.

Wow. Didn't see that coming. Absolute demolition job by Nadal; completely dismantled Djokovic. Remember Djokovic hadn't lost a match all year (ignoring that one default), he'd been in superb form... but this is Nadal at Roland Garros, and you can never write him off. Astonishing performance, particularly in those opening two sets. Djokovic wasn't even playing that badly, but Nadal was playing like a machine, perfect tennis. Djokovic just didn't get a chance. And by the time he started to recover somewhat in the third, it was too little too late.
There can't be many better examples of dominance in any sport than Nadal at the French. Can't believe he's won 13 here... that's longer than many whole tennis careers.

I agree with you in the aspect of ignoring Djokovic lost against Nadal since he havent lost a single match this year but the two players are greatest rival and you claim Djokovic Nadal was playing like a machine, perfect tennis.
That's because Nadal is the king of the clay court.

Day 10 Headlines: Diego Schwartzman beats Dominic Thiem 7-6 (7-1) 5-7 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (7-5) 6-2
Schwartzman is through to the semi-final. What an epic match lasting over 5 hours.
That was indeed a great match because after the 3rd set tie breaker I felt like Thiem has done it and Diego is done for this match. I mean he broke the Thiem's serve and got into the Tie-breaker and I felt like yeah now Diego should have the momentum but he somehow lost the breaker and I even closed the stream since I was only watching for fun and had no bet on the game itself. But this guy is something else now I see the score and he won, just amazing because against a player who grinds as much as Thiem it must have been a great mentality to win from behind in sets and losing a tie-breaker is never a good feeling specially on clay where you have to play extra shots and get exhausted.

I think this was probably one of the best played games from Nadal and worst from Djokovic, resulted in deserved 3-0 win result. Even if Nadal was slight favorite before the start, nobody expected to see 6-0 in first set and all to finish in less than 3 hours, and all stats was on his side this time. Congratulations Nadal for 100 win in Roland Garros and 13th title. I think this was probably one of the best played games from Nadal and worst from Djokovic, resulted in deserved 3-0 win result. The king of clay just showed who is the undisputed king of clay while Djokovic won their last two encounters in hard court but in clay there is no competition against Nadal. Even if Nadal was slight favorite before the start, nobody expected to see 6-0 in first set and all to finish in less than 3 hours, and all stats was on his side this time. I did not anticipate that either to completely dominate the first set and on seeing the first two games i placed full house on Nadal as he was in his zone in his own backyard .

That's an incredible mark of Nadal's 13 victories in Paris . Djokovic didn't won a set . I believe that Nadal didn't lose a set the whole tournament. Incredible, congratulations to Nadal that is impressive.

here you can see how three people have dominated the last years in tennis. it's really amazing.i only want 1% of the money these 3 men have won in the last few years with this money i could live happily for years . The "worst" part is that the prize money they win in tournaments isn't even their main income ! Sponsors pay top dollars to have them as brand ambassadors.

This statistic from the big 3 the last years is unbelievable. But also Thiem shows that also younger player come from behind and want to challenge the big 3. At Paris it looks like at a mission impossible when Nadal is healthy fit.

Perhaps Rafa is so focused on this game, specially hunting for his 20th grand slam. Even if Nadal was slight favorite before the start, nobody expected to see 6-0 in first set and all to finish in less than 3 hours, and all stats was on his side this time.
Right, that 6-0 first set was unexpected, I thought it will be closer, could be 5 set, but then again, Rafa is unstoppable in clay and not even Djokovic can stop him even in his best days. So still the big 3 or 2 at this moment as Federer is injured, still dominates the Grand Slam. And yes, Rafa didn't lose a set in this French Open again. And his record 101-2 on clay that was close to perfection.

I mean, you are against the King of Clay in a clay setting but what a performance by Nadal! I watched the game from a third-party stream and the first set was just purely dominance by Nadal. I was slightly rooting for Djokovic to bounce bank after the second set; he also gained momentum but he fell short at the end. Also, almost all of the serves made by Nadal resulted to him in a point from the game as compared to Djokovic. It just proves on how much dominant he is in a clay setting as compared to any other tennis professional out there.

It seemed like Djokovic came to life in some parts of the second set and then for a lot of the third set but maybe his performance was related to the 5 set match he had with Tsitsipas match. Cannot take anything away from Nadal, he relaxed a little in the third set and inadvertantly gave Djokovic an opportunity but other than that he was totally dominant.
