It was the most powerful for some months now but I'm guessing it won't last forever, the era of DeFi is already fading away.

1. New dex exchanges will come up with better utilities e.g kingswap
2. DeFi hype is over, uniswap lost 41% of its liquidity already

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Well, he might me right. The DeFi hype will pass, just like the other hypes have passed (ICO, Smart Contracts, Colored Coins etc). UNI has a big disadvantage because it is currently only based on ETH and the network costs are sometimes very high, which can make UNI unattractive compared to centralized exchanges. I think UNI is rated far too high and it will only survive in the long term if it integrates other blockchains.
