Hello bitcoin talkers!

I am a gambling fan who has almost tried all the gambling websites that exists. I love trying strategies, playing with numbers, studying probabilities and coding my strategies projections with R  Grin Tongue Roll Eyes
When I start an autobet in different websites, I mentioned that the temperature of my PC is HIGH  Shocked
I checked the system monitor and I found this! (I am using Ubuntu)

If you try to end one of them, the webpage will crash.

Websites that I tried for this experiment:
- Luckyfish.io
- Wolf.bet

Do you think that they are using our computers of CPU mining?

Have you tried it on other or different computers some sites are using java script and other scripts that makes it hard to your hardware to bear. I have no experience using the two gambling sites, but on other gambling sites with a lot of graphics doesn't heat up my computer, be sure your computer have a good ventilation, sometimes it's the one that causes the issues.

It's been a while since I did autobetting on casinos, usually I am doing manual gaming. For me I didn't notice any high running CPU or GPU when gambling. My PC just tends to very loud and warm when gaming some high texture games. So I can't confirm to a 100% that casinos are not using our PCs to mine, but in the games I played I didn't notice anything suspicious.

Ubuntu is more graphical in nature than other linux distros. So it will consume more GPU power and besides that you should have also mentioned your system config since that would have given us more info on your system performance. Low end CPUs generally get high temperature quicker. You can try using another browser to see if the results are the same.
If the problem persists then try reinstalling the OS. Make sure to backup your data if you reinstall the OS.
Also, you can use a tool called "Glances" which is available for Ubuntu to see a detailed analysis on CPU and GPU temperatures.

You should check if you have fully uninstalled minergate as I have use in the past, I mine via 10 or more computers as i earn a good money at that time but  it will surely consume too much CPU.
But if you have fully uninstalled it then there is a big possibility that the you are mining in background using the website as web content are using 20% of your CPU.

Quite curious as well but I don't think casinos are using a hidden mining feature whenever you tried to play auto betting. I'm using windows and everything was fine whenever I try doing an auto bet but since you are using ubuntu maybe there's something to do with it.

I did try on using up Opera browser and i havent seen any similar process as yours.

It do consume high memory though but not on CPU usage. Are you sure that this one came from wolf.bet itself or other one?

I don't think that casinos use hidden mining tools, at least not those respectful ones. Besides that could be detected if check your computer thoroughly. Although I'm not fan of auto betting but for different reasons I don't think this feature is misused.

Checked out my taskmanager too if i would see some processes that isnt related to the apps or programs that i had launched and i have seen none. Also it do only consumes 9% of cpu usage and im opening lots of
browser tabs and Steam in background.I opened this one in Chrome and you can see it do consume out on minimal.

That would really be shady if they do able to tagged along with that hidden CPU miner.Once bust up they surely their reputation would be fucked up thats why i dont think that they would really be aiming
on not letting their gamblers know.

I just tested both sites to see how high my cpu usage could go with the auto bets running at the same time and it took like 15%-20% max on the Edge browser.

Wolf bet had a low cpu usage ~5% but Luckyfish on the other hand takes up 10%-15% when i'm tabbed in.

It do consume high memory though but not on CPU usage. Are you sure that this one came from wolf.bet itself or other one?
Most likely it's luckyfish. I guess it takes more cpu usage because of the additonal animations(slider, balance update etc) similar to what stake have since they're pretty much the same.

Crypto gambling site are working well with me and my computer didn’t heat that much but I don’t think its possible for them to use our own GPU to mine, I don’t think technologies are too advance like this. I don’t gamble on autobet because you can’t have fun on that and technically you are gambling for the sole purpose of money and not to enjoy playing, I still choose to bet on my own and enjoy all the losses.

Your website is affected by a malware. I hope you don't use any browser based wallets because then you are at risk of loosing money. But there's an easy way to remove this malware.

Just download Emsisoft malware protection tool which comes with a free trial period. Scan you pc and remove this malware. That should solve this issue!

Nope, this isn't a malware at all. Take note that all of the browsers do take a high capacity on a user's RAM and running an auto-bet in a browser would simply make the browser run more as the user would open more applications other than that. Try using auto-bet in Google Chrome as well if your RAM is just 8gb or less. Soon, you'll see that your device would heat up as it tries to be at its maximum performance to run in background your auto-bet.

@OP, maybe you can tell us anything about your device's specs? Such as your CPU, RAM, and VCard. Because based on my understanding, running an auto-bet on a background esp in a browser would eat huge capacity in your processing units.

Ubuntu is more graphical in nature than other linux distros. So it will consume more GPU power
~snip

No, actually Ubuntu uses the same amount of GPU power as other distributions if they run the same desktop environment. Bigger desktop environments will however use more GPU than smaller desktop environments (Gnome > KDE > XFCE...)

And besides, on Linux hardly anything uses the GPU except for a hardware-accelerated web browser so GPU temperature is not going to go much high.

Low end CPUs generally get high temperature quicker.

This is not correct, lower end CPUs have smaller clock speeds and more powerful CPUs have higher clock speeds and the higher the speed, the hotter the processor gets. It's basic thermodynamics.

CPUs have 3 or 4 built-in speed "levels" they switch between to adjust the clock rate, they don't run at arbitrary speeds in their range.

They also have a turbo mode that temporarily increases the clock speed to a higher limit until the processor gets very hot. This is what happens if you see 100% CPU usage.

Take note that all of the browsers do take a high capacity on a user's RAM and running an auto-bet in a browser would simply make the browser run more as the user would open more applications other than that.

More RAM usage does not increase processing therefore cannot make a computer heat up.

For a clear answer, we need to check the system resource sharing between open programs. Maybe the Chrome extensions consume high CPU and these extensions are directly linked with mentioned gambling websites. It is hard to say something without the proper analysis, but I am sure Wolf.bet will never use the user's computer for coin mining. By the way, you can use various software for cleaning the registry of Windows(or other OS), I recommend Auslogicv Boostspeed which I use it for weekly cleaning.

Do you think that they are using our computers of CPU mining?

At a time when computer resources were limited, developers spent a lot of effort on optimizing their programs and websites. Now it is considered that there is nothing to do this for. This is why browsers with multiple sites can consume so many resources. I stopped being surprised by this a long time ago.

@OP, maybe you can tell us anything about your device's specs? Such as your CPU, RAM, and VCard. Because based on my understanding, running an auto-bet on a background esp in a browser would eat huge capacity in your processing units.

here's my device's specs:
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz
- 16 GiB RAM
- GM108M [GeForce 920MX]

Your CPU specification is more than enough to play offline gaming or online gaming. With 16 Gb RAM, I am sure you will not have a problem or lag in accessing one or more tabs in your browser. So there is something wrong with your OS because the process consumes high temperatures. Did you already check the add on for every browser you installed? If you forgot to install one or more add-on and that is from an unknown resource, that can make the process needs more.

The last thing you can do is reinstall your OS, install a clean installer, and don't use any add on for your browser to see if that will impact your CPU process or not because you can monitor in the process. Try just to install chrome and don't install the other browser, and see what will happen.

That's a pretty good specification but I don't think those gambling site are using your CPU for mining, if you still doubt about it then don't use their auto-bet program and just enjoy betting on your own. Try to clean up everything on your computer, and check if your CPU is still good there might be wrong here but I don't conclude that those Gambling site are using your own CPU, I just can't imagine how this thing works, and auto-bet can't consume that much.

Probably you have malware or virus on your PC that damages the software and eventually the hardware parts of the PC. I do not think that CPU were being use to mine and there is no relevance between mining and gambling site. If it does and the developer does not told the user about this then you can make a complain in their site.

This is the first time I have seen a discussion where gambling site has been integrated to mining. Probably there would be but chances are low. There should be more reason behind the program getting crashed or why the PC is hot after running the autobet program.

Same here i believe that OP's PC has virus or Malware in which creating this issue with it,I don't think that gambling sites has the ability to use our cpu for Mining without us knowing this.

@OP aren't you drunk or smoked asking this?because it is impossible to happen  Grin
