The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Any signature available that we can use?

Yeah, I know we had a couple of good signatures come out of this thread. Let's bring those back to life. TwinWinNerD, do you have a proposal for how we can do automatic payouts for people who use the signature? I know I got at least one PM from someone saying they could make a solution in exchange for a bounty, but I'm not sure if we need to pay a bounty for something like that. I'd even be willing to write up a quick script myself.

We should start working on the faucet sometime soon. I imagine this is going to have to be something we host on chancecoin.com, or it could be an external service. Or we could treat the gambling promotion as the faucet, or somehow merge them.

TwinWinNerD, how's the traction on the gambling promo? I'm still working on the single-player games, I'll keep you up to date. Maybe we can get more traction there once we have these "more interesting" games up and running.

I'd say around the same time we release the new games, we should start pushing for media attention. Venetian and I emailed a few different sources (TechCrunch, Coindesk, etc.) a while back, but a lot has changed since then. I think when we're ready to do that, we should make a list of media contacts and a list of "talking points," and then we should all email all of these people. Sort of like with how we got on the front page of reddit and Hacker News, we should be able to "harness the crowd" to get the attention of some of these media outlets.

Keeping the ball rolling!

Good luck on the test! I can only assume it's in something like Advanced Cryptography.

Do you use VPN or any proxy? As I know that the connections sometimes dont work well and is better to use VPN.

The automatic payout of Sharecoins and Thesmurfcoins were great (shitcoins/scams but great site). It was a website were you had to put your Bitcointalk ID to check the signature and you get paid only if you keep the signature the time needed. There was a history of users and time-left-count before the payout.

We are moving Chancecoin.com to a new host. The site may temporarily go down as DNS propagates. We're moving from a shared host to a dedicated host, so we can actually run the Chancecoin daemon on the server. This way the database files will always be up to date. We're going to make some changes to hopefully eliminate the sometimes long wait time at the splash screen during startup. This will also mean we can potentially host some live services on chancecoin.com (block explorer, faucet, etc.).

I just want to give a better sense of how much traffic these marketing channels can bring us. We are averaging 250 unique visitors per day, but when chancecoin was the top post on Hacker News, we had 5000+ unique visitors in 24 hours. We achieved similar amazing results from being one of the top posts on Bitcoin sub-Reddit.

We can bring much more traffic to chancecoin site and forum with your help! We want to start by getting on another exchange (for example, Bter) and get news coverage by one of the big guys (Techcrunch, CoinDesk, etc). Let us know if you can help Chancecoin in either getting on Bter or getting news coverage, especially if you have a personal contact or connection with them Tongue

Cheers,
Venetian

@magician / Venetian - please add http://chancecoin.com/forum/index.php to the OP.

Also, have you thought about the main problem which is slow speed of bets? - Bets are usually resolved in 2 blocks.

I know it sounds radical but I think moving to a faster block chain should be considered - Maybe Dogecoin  Shocked
I think its fare so to say their blockchain is secure and Dogecoin's block time is 1 minute as opposed to bitcoin's 10 minutes.
It will also bring ALOT of traffic and PR to chancecoin - Doge community is AWESOME!

(p.s: it's great so see the DEVs more active in this thread, it adds a lot of confidence in the project - keep up the great work!)

This is something I've been thinking about lately and will need to think more about. We're going to do something about it.

Yes, but we can't host it, because it's illegal to host an online casino in the United States. However, there still might be some kind of decentralized solution.

Wow... This would be a huge improvement !
That could make the bet about 10 times faster, right ?

I agree this idea to improve the sync speed. Could Devs pay more efforts on this improvement?

I'd be excited to see a shift to a faster blockchain. It would be a bold move.

Is there any strong opposition to moving to a faster blockchain?

Would Dogecoin be the best blockchain?

I think we'd probably be able to set it up so that BTC is still the main blockchain for regular transactions, but the Dogecoin blockchain is used for betting, but I have to look into it more.

On a related note, this might not completely solve the issue, as it seems that the NY Lottery numbers have been slightly delayed recently, which also contributes to the slowness, so we may still have to consider other sources of randomness.

Hi Chancecoin!

I am just learning about the protocol.  So right now the random numbers are coming from the State of New York?  Couldn't hashes of bitcoin blocks  be the random number / random seed for all bets over a certain size, hashes of litecoin blocks could be for smaller bets, and hashes of dogecoin blocks for the next size down.  Perhaps even something like Fastcoin could be used to decide micro bets.

It wouldn't just be the size of the bet that mattered, but the total amount of all bets placed would have to be capped for each pool (bitcoin, litecoin, etc.).  The amount of money at risk for each block would have to be less than what someone would be willing to alter a blocks for.
