Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued the following directions to Aviation Companies :

1. Minimum 60% of seats on any flight to be allocated free of charge to ensure fair access
2. Passengers travelling on the same PNR to be seated together, preferably in adjacent seats
3. Carriage of sports equipment and musical instruments to be facilitated in a transparent and passenger-friendly manner, subject to applicable safety and operational regulations. Airlines shall also bring out clear, transparent policies for carriage of pets.
4. Strict adherence to passenger rights framework, particularly in cases of delays, cancellations and denied boarding
5. Prominent display of passenger rights across airline websites, mobile applications, booking platforms, and airport counters
6. Clear communication of passenger entitlements in regional languages to ensure wider accessibility and awareness

Just 1 question how a company supposed to make money if 60% of the product is free. Grin Grin

^^ it's not free in that manner. Abhi airliness karti kya hai ki woh additional charges leti hai if you want to select your own seats according to your preference.

Jaise ki  kisi ko front seat or exit seat chahiye toh kisi ko aisle or window. Ab 60% seats mein no extra paisa.

Apart from the rest of the points, I feel that this point is the biggest cash grab of the airline industry. Once I have paid for the fare, I also have to pay to buy that seat? WTF is that supposed to mean anyway? And then window seats will cost more and I end up choosing Aisle and Middle seats.

Back side seats cost zero because the toilet smell is there and take off and landing feels difficult on the body at those points and also because staff keep their bags there.

One more thing I would have liked is an expansion of the Udan Yatri cafe, it is a novel concept which has been started and they need to increase in size, number and menu.

I've lot of problems with this gov but Inki infrastructure spending se koi problem nahi hai, yeh log bhar ke invest kar rahe hai.

Spending should be close to 2-3ish % of gdp, which means 100s of billions every year. Agar yeh speed bani rahi next decade tak toh bahut kuch change hoga, kafi change toh already dikhte hai.

What are the significant changes that you see in India ?
All I see is roads with potholes, broken bridges and statue of unity worth thousands of crores but for what ?
I know it promotes tourism but there's so much more to fix in India.
Government could have spent that money on other real issues like cleaning our sacred rivers like Ganga and others.

These are all for the companies that is operating from India or anyone who wants to land in India? If this is for India then I think the business for aviation will be in trouble, already it is not a profitable business to run airlines now government make it stricter will leave them to opearte from different country that will generate taxes for somewhere else.

Am I seeing it wrong?

This LPG crisis is becoming a serious issue these days. Why is the government so chill about it ?
Lots of people complaining about not having enough gas at their home and are forced to look for alternate solutions.
Some people are going with induction/infrared based stoves while others are buying gas cylinders from the black market.

Even we are facing this LPG shortage and in fact I am looking to get a new LPG connection on my name.
Even enquired in the office but they clearly mentioned that new LPG connections are restricted for now.
None of the agencies are accepting new LPG connection until next one month or until further notice.

I personally think this is all a setup and higher authorities are involved in this.
May be they are creating a fake panic in the market to sell cylinders on higher rates and force people towards electric stoves.

It is affecting the business like restaurants and roadside shopts but definitely not the domestic level, it is just from the panic created among the people and everyone started buying gas cylinders even if they don't really need just in case, that created increased demand and the gas agencies are having delays in delivering them. But as of now homes have no problem in getting one, they might receive it bit delayed.

I ordered one and received it after 8 days but usually it will be in a day or 2 max. Not sure about the new connection, though.

It is just that people make it worse than what it is, just out of panic buying.

I agree that people are indeed panicking in this situation and are booking cylinders in advance even if they don't require one.
At the same time, the panic and the ongoing war has indeed created a shortage. There are several signs that clearly says there is a shortage of LPG in the market.
My major concern is for the new connection though. I am myself in need of a new connection but they have clearly denied it for next one month.
What should people like me do if they are not even able to book a cylinder.

I had booked my cylinder on the 12th through a mobile app. The app shows a cash memo generated on the 13th. The app from the 14th started showing that the cylinder is out for delivery, and yet, till today, it has not been delivered. Officially, the service provider has clearly mentioned a minimum of 2 days to a maximum of 7 days to deliver the cylinder. Whereas today is the 9th day. It seems the dealers are also trying to create a panic among the consumers so that they can charge extra on the current price of the cylinder. It is not just the public, but these dealers are also responsible for the situation. Another bomb was thrown on the public by the petroleum ministry today that premium petrol will become costlier from now on. The war in the Middle East is on its 22nd day, and I do think it will stop any time soon, looking at the current geopolitical situation.

Gas agencies are always been cash grabbers in our country they will charge extra than what they should and the delivery fee is included in the bill itself but they will still demand 20/50 or even more to get it delivered and if we refuse to pay then we will have trouble getting the cylinder we booked.

And they might be selling the gas to someone else that is the reason and they will give you someone else's, it should be corrected but we know how the system works here.

Exactly. That is what I am trying to point out. The shortage is present whether you believe it or not.
Why else do you think we are getting the cylinders delayed by so many days.
Yes, the agencies are also at equal fault since they are increasing the delays deliberately.
But we gotta accept that the supply is reduced and if this persists then we might face increased delays in the future.

Induction cooktops are almost out of stock everywhere including the online and offline market.
At least the good ones are out of stock. The only remaining ones are the costliest ones and some local induction cooktops.

In our area it is around 4000 rupees to 4500 rupees. It doesn't make any sense to me to pay such a huge amount for gas cylinder.
It is better to buy an Induction cooktop for 2000 to 3000 rupees instead of buying cylinder in black.
The induction will at least last much longer when compared to the gas cylinder which will last 1 to 2 months maximum.

2K to 5K, really? I heard restaurants are paying upto 2000 for domestic cylinders if someone ready to sell them but 5K seems absured and no reason to buy that much unless there is no other option at all. The induction can work for most of the dishes while the sales of induction-based cookware must also be skyrocketing at this point.

How about woods? Not possible in cities but rural areas can survive without any problem.

The reason for such an absurd price for a black cylinder was due to the festive week, I assume. I do have a weird feeling that such a scarcity of cylinders might have been instigated deliberately by the government of India. Looking at the way Indians are buying induction cooktop there won't be a demand for cylinders in the future after this scarcity. As per my calculation, it has been more than 10 days now that every state in India is not able to deliver cylinders. The more people get accustomed to induction cooktop the less they will use cylinders for daily cooking, which will directly reduce the government's billing in importing LPG, whereas LNG is needed due to its industrial use, which is not as big as LPG.

Wood is good in rural areas, but in urban areas, wood is hard to find and no one wants to use it because most household do not have open area for cooking on wood.

Yeah it is for real. I know it doesn't sound very much convincing but there are people paying upto 5k for a gas cylinder.
Even I had enquired about a gas cylinder since I was pretty much in need of it and got the rate as 4500 and so I skipped.
I purchased an induction cooktop for 2500 rupees instead and I am already loving it.
I will keep using it for a long term as it is easier to cook basic dishes on it very well.

I am not sure about the part that the government is deliberately trying to increase the demand just to sell induction, any rich individual owns that company like top 10 richest people in our country? I don't think so. But the government is not handling well, even if they could with right kind of orders to the gas suppliers but they failed in that part too.

But the situation can't keep continue like that, even if it happens for one more month, then I am sure it will affect the economy and almost take the jobs out related to the hospitality industry.
