They know the playbook really well and have been using it since the late 1980s. When the BJP was starting out, they formed an alliance with the Shiv Sena, which held a complete foothold in Maharashtra. Decades later, once the BJP secured power at the Center, they demanded an equal share of seats for the 2014 state elections. This obviously caused a temporary rift, but the power dynamic permanently flipped in the BJP's favor. Eventually, they were able to leverage internal friction to split the Shiv Sena into rival factions, allowing the BJP to completely dominate and become the major political force in Maharashtra today.
They continued the same exact formula and became successful in Bihar, Odisha, Assam, Punjab, and Haryana. For West Bengal, their approach was a bit different. They focused on getting people from different parties, including the TMC. They did not ally with the Left when the TMC came to power; instead, they accepted everyone who was against the TMC and swallowed the entire Left party base.
Well, the opposition forgot the playbook as they were busy with corruption. BJP did indeed wipe out the opposition, and then they, as in the opposition, came up with CJP. Oh lord! Tell me what I can do to tell them, as in the opposition, that they are in an era of social media and they will get caught. I have only one desire: that the 56-year-old youth icon should again go back to Thailand and never come back. AAP is a shithole, proved by the CJP protest. But Congress does have good leaders; if this Youth Icon and his mother can be removed, then we can have a good opposition. Congress should come out of this dynasty politics and focus on its existence. As of now, it looks like fascist Modi will prevail, and so will the BJP. Which is bad for democracy! The BJP will certainly win the next election too.

Just for educational purposes, BJP is number 4 party in Punjab and atm nowhere in the race. They do have decent amount of vote share but it's all fragmented and hardly earned them any valuable seat in the past.
Assam is all about himanta ( ex congress).

Punjab is a different scenario, and it has been for a long time. I guess it will remain the same for the BJP as it has been in TN and TS. Paper leak is not new, but rather than suggesting a change, CJP (AAP) came up with a strategy just before the parliament session to ask for the resignation of the Education Minister. I also agree he should resign or be fired because of the UGC bill that he was trying to pass. But after this Charlie demonstration, I am certain the BJP will not bow down to this pressure. In the meantime, when the country is protesting against the Education Minister, they will pass all the bills without us knowing the true sense of those bills. Sometimes I feel the BJP does this deliberately to ensure that bills get passed because they know minuscule opposition will walk out on an issue like the one that is currently happening. The HM is too cunning; he does his job in disguise. Otherwise, why did the government do nothing to subsidize this protest when there was less or somewhat of a protest in Jantar Mantar? They allowed it, like Shahin Bagh (causing AAP to lose the election), to escalate. This is something I understood, and I feel that as soon as the bills are passed, they will crack down on the protesters.

The current BJP government is really turning out to be a joke. They can easily handle the protest by talking with the students directly. They can conduct an open session, try to accept the inputs from students and how to actually solve the real problem of paper leaks. But they are being ignorant about the current issue of paper leaks and rather beating students in inappropriate way. This is really ridiculous and I never thought BJP government will let this happen. I am not going to vote for it next time. I don't want to but then again there's no strong opposition and I cannot give my vote to Rahul Gandhi as well.

This is the most important thing because still it's important to do the settlement through table talk instead of having other ways, but as mentioned, they are doing like jokers they are enjoying and creating more frustration. BJP is enjoying being alone with Congress, which has no depth to compete with them in the long run. No other party is also strong enough to stand as opposition. This will be an advantage for them in the coming days as well. Congress needs a change of faces and minds as well they are still living like in old-fashioned films. This could never help them have good chances in the near future.

Modi has finally responded and a new law is in place where a punishment of 10 years of jail term and 10 crores in fine is levied on the culprit of paper leaks. But I wonder if this is just to settle down the noise or will they strictly implement and follow the new law. If the papers are leaked the next time, they might simple register a case and then that case will keep going on for years. They can easily find loopholes to exploit Indian law because it's full of shit.

It seems the FCRA amendment bill, which now focuses on loopholes that directly implicate NGO owners, is not being well received by the US. They and other European allies have been the biggest contributors. In most cases religion conversion was the primary agenda. CJK promoted by AAP was able to disrupt the parliament session, and they are still trying their level best.
FYI, after the BJP came into power in 2014 till now, before the parliament session starts, there will always be a disruption. This kind of agitation has become quite common whenever the government wants to pass an important bill.

~ Just for educational purposes, BJP is number 4 party in Punjab and atm nowhere in the race. They do have decent amount of vote share but it's all fragmented and hardly earned them any valuable seat in the past. They are fragmented now, but they know how to play the long game, repeating the strategy they used in Maharashtra. ~ Paper leak is not new, but rather than suggesting a change, CJP (AAP) came up with a strategy just before the parliament session to ask for the resignation of the Education Minister. I also agree he should resign or be fired because of the UGC bill that he was trying to pass. But after this Charlie demonstration, I am certain the BJP will not bow down to this pressure. It is true that paper leaks and student protests are nothing new. In fact, the current education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, actually led a massive protest under the ABVP back in 1997 against the Odisha government. The hypocrisy built into the system here is incredible. The current BJP government is really turning out to be a joke. They can easily handle the protest by talking with the students directly. They can conduct an open session, try to accept the inputs from students and how to actually solve the real problem of paper leaks. They could, but they won't. They easily could have shut down the protests if they actually wanted to resolve the situation. ~ Congress needs a change of faces and minds as well they are still living like in old-fashioned films. This could never help them have good chances in the near future. They are actually incompetent. They are just coasting on anti-incumbency instead of actually doing the work. In Kerala, they only won power because the voters simply had no other choice. ~ But I wonder if this is just to settle down the noise or will they strictly implement and follow the new law. If the papers are leaked the next time, they might simple register a case and then that case will keep going on for years. They can easily find loopholes to exploit Indian law because it's full of shit. The people pulling the strings behind these leaks definitely have political backing, and they're just creating smoke screens to dodge any real scrutiny. The judicial system can't do much on its own. The courts rely on outside agencies to do the actual investigative legwork and build the case. If those investigators drag their feet, the credibility of the whole justice system goes out the window. Tracking money isn't a uniquely Indian bias; it is an international security standard followed by the US and the UK. From what I understand, CJP is a student movement, and AAP and Congress are jumping into it for political leverage. FYI, after the BJP came into power in 2014 till now, before the parliament session starts, there will always be a disruption. This kind of agitation has become quite common whenever the government wants to pass an important bill. Just to clarify, saying that parliament disruptions only started after 2014 completely ignores political history. Back during the UPA 2 era, the BJP constantly blocked entire sessions to stall bills and back the ruling government into a corner. This is just standard political theater in Indian democracy, played out by whichever party happens to be sitting in the opposition at the time.

FCRA amendment bill is one of the reasons why people are opposing the BJP government, this is a narrative being given now. While this might be the case, the politicians in this country are just the same using the student's issues to propagate their own needs. Bringing down Modi from the PM post has been their objective since a long time. If the FCRA amendment is passed, a lot of anti-social and anti-national stuff that gets funded by it will be stopped.
US and China are not liking this and they want to stop it. However they will anyway find some or the other method to fund their control over the country eventually.

From what I understand, CJP is a student movement, and AAP and Congress are jumping into it for political leverage.
CJP isn't student movement, major faces of CJP has AAP background. For first 20 days there wasn't any crowd at jantar mantar even on weekends, it was usual crowd for shopping etc. but day before monsoon session crowd came out of nowhere and it wasn't organic at all. I also didn't see much NSUI leadership but AAP student wing and usual suspects from JNU were there from day one.

@eaLiTy it started as a student-led protest, but it was never. Please check on this guy, Abijit Charlie. He is an ex-AAP IT cell member, and he does not have a degree from Boston in the US. He is a Dalit, and he is the ideal candidate that AAP wanted to project for their demonstration against the BJP under the disguise of solving the NEET paper leak. None of the demonstrators suggested what improvement they want in the current infrastructure (I mean to stop paper leaks) for the conducting body, the National Testing Agency (NTA). This is nothing new, as every time there is a parliament session or a VVIP comes to India, we see such protests. The government is going to pass a strict law again to stop paper leaks. Last time they passed a bill, we saw, and we are still seeing videos where students are not allowed to enter the exam centers in a burkha or anything that determines the religion of that student. If the student is late in the exam center by 5 minutes, they are not allowed to enter, as the cutoff time is 30 minutes. The government today bowed down to the CJP and asked Pradhan to resign, which will be accepted. This is not because of the protest but because of his UGC bill that he wanted to pass. The BJP was looking for a loophole to sack him, and they found it now. If the protest still goes on, which the CJP has continued till today, then it will hamper them and their ability to be a Gen Z party. BTW.. India now has facial and social media recognition software, which was revealed in this protest. The hidden fact now is that India, as a democracy, has infrastructure that is far better than China. Nothing wrong in what the government is doing, as this is quite common in the USA, which is known as the second-best democracy after India.

My political insights are not that good, so sharing my view as an average citizen who got nothing to do with Neet or other policies regarding the exams. After the protest getting the traction on social media the mister is regisned which is kind of victry but this doesn't solve the problem of paper leak, we need to restructure the exam models to mitigate the human intervention so there won't be any need of banning telegram or keeping the students from their religious beliefs.

Education minister's resignation might not solve the actual problem but it will create a fear on the next minister and so he might put in more effort on the process to prevent paper leaks. Peaceful protest was a good way to show the government what we are capable of but there are several other problems with the government. Should we apply the same approach for every problem we face because of the government ? For example: forcing people to use E20 petrol ? P.S: Just ranked up to Legendary member. We would become banana republic ( if we're not there already) if for every problem we have just one solution.
Indian politicians have thick skin and i don't think making him resign sends any signal to ministers or politician in general. I mentioned earlier, pradhan should have been sacked earlier when he fumbled and bend his knee infront of judiciary on introducing NCERT new chapter "corruption in the judiciary" to class 8th curriculum.

Here I completely agreed despite having the biggest democracy in the world, things are not on the level where resignations like these work and bring improvement, especially after reading the statement from Nirmala Tai because the system is having flaws and they are enjoying these without any problem for a long time. Strong central parties are also a problem right now; just the BJP is having roots with no other party that can challenge them in the long run. A strong parliament is good, but there is still a lack of a strong political system that allows people to stay on a good level and have a good mentality for having top spots.

^^ imo no parties is invincible, in last decade or so regional parties looked hard to beat and no one thought that kejri, mamta di or stalin would lose spectacularly but it happend so BJP's time will comes as well and at some point they'll lose as well.
The kind of leadership our opposition has, it kinda scares me on key issues " jitni abadi, utna hak" , they also seems to be in favor of demographic shift and hardly any vision on national security

I guess another two decades it may take for the BJP to lose, or if someone from the BJP breaks aways sits in the opposition. I do not think the existing opposition will remain intact by the next decade. Kejri and Rahul are now on the street trying to grab the attention of the public by claiming that they are the reason why the education minister resigned. There are so many differences with the I.N.D.I.A that they themselves will kill each other organically without the BJP trying to break them. Already, we have seen the biggest fall of TMC, DMK, and other regional parties that are part of that alliance. The 2029 election will wipe them off from the opposition if they continue this kind of behaviour.

One fake news of constitution badal denge and they lost 2 digits seat in UP. They need to work on their messaging and PR, BJP seems to be worst at this game despite doing lot of work and it could cost them big time if they remain complacent.
