If anyone noticed it or not, Indians faced backlash from all over the world for being loud and basically lack civic sense mainly in tourist attractions and then this one came and sure, everyone knows that India isn't just loud but also saves the world.

P.S. Not really proud of that stupidity by fellow Indians.

Have you ever been to Europe? Have you ever been to the US? If yes, then you would have seen that the immigrants are more an issue than Indians travelling. Because social media shows Indians doing it does not mean Indians do not have a sense of humility and civic sense. Remember, those who are travelling abroad are from the upper middle class or rich class. If they are enjoying themselves, then what is the problem with the left ecosystem?

I have been to those continents as a tourist and their hatred against Indian is immense. It is evident that when China was growing up as a big economy at that time, the Chinese were part of the same hatred.

Racism still exists and I am not denying that and also I am not saying we are doing bad, actually Indians behave well when they move to other countries and the best evidence is following the traffic rules on the road but when the same individual hit the Indian road their muscle memory kick in to keep one hand at horn all the time.

But there are some incidents which goes out of hand, like being very disturbing to the fellow people around the same place.

US people had that similar kind of hatred in 19070s and then Australians and even Chinese too but they managed to change the propaganda over the period.

Thar aur Creta bhai. They are a menace on the road. That is why, even being good cars, these two have not been able to sell many units. Slowly, the sales are declining, just like KTM has faced in the past, as it was known as a chapri bike. Till today, consumers prefer alternatives of KTM 390.

That's a fair point, but the problem is mostly with the driver and not the car.

A couple of guys doing stupid things or driving carelessly will spoil the reputation for the entire brand. And in turn, the potential buyers will also avoid buying that particular brand.

Same thing goes for the KTM. It's a good product, but because of a few idiots, it carries the "chapri" tag.

All we need is to show a little patience and discipline while driving, and half the problem is solved.

This is a valid point. But this just proves that the problem lies not in the licence test itself but in the aftermath.

In foreign countries, a driver will follow the rules mainly because there's a high chance that he'll be caught (cameras, huge fines, loss of points on the license). So the same person will behave differently.

And here, chances of being caught are low. And when one is caught, he is usually let off with a fine or some sort of setting. Jab tak consequences pakke nahi honge, behaviour nahi badlega.

Sort of true but I don't think it is only the rich that do this, it's the same with people who ride bicycles and autos and even some buses. So I think it has more to do with lack of enforcement and the sab chalta hai mentality rather than a specific car or a specific class of people. If the rules were applied to everyone including the Thar guys they would comply too in no time.

Yaar, ye FlyDubai ki story is haunting me. I have travelled so many times abroad for work I never checked the pilot's religion. After those deails of Omani pilot coming out in the news, I feel I need to check next time I travel. This is so haunting that I cannot make you guys understand the issue. Those who travel often would understand what I am trying to convey. Ek to jab turbulence aata hai 30,000 feet mein, to g##nd phat jaati hai 19 hour flight mein upar se ab ye bhi check karna padega. What a shitty time we are living in.

That is the problem bhai! We Indians have thick skins we neglect such comments, believing that "Kutta Bhonk raha hai". But it is actually affecting those who are living in those countries. These neighbours will identify themselves as Indians, whereas when they online they are the ones who are instigating hate against Indians. If you go to Brick Lane in London, almost 90 percent of the restaurants are either owned by Pakistanis or Bangladeshis, but they disguise themselves under the umbrella of Indian cuisine. This is the level of love they have for their own country and yet they come online and spread racial hate for India. Why? Because Hindus are living in India or something else?

If it's 3-6-9 months so you are probably talking about the same kind of tourist licence because if it's touching 1 year mark then its automatically fall in IDP category ( home country provides this permit). In both case, yeah there are no tests.

If you are staying for long term then you have to transfer your licence and give all the tests because travelling back to get IDP every year doesn't make sense.

I lived in one of SEA country for long period of time and to convert my license, i had to take mandatory eye, vehicle and written test. Whole process took 22-25 days, it was short duration because I had IDP and wanted only medium vehicle permit ( my original licence is for heavy vehicles).

I was talking about the one that is provided if the individual has an EP/work permit; not sure if the process has changed because it's from the pre-COVID era not in 2026 or in recent years.
