no, kgw works and fixes every difficulty issue. The first blocks are usually like that.

Just Sloth coin has ~1.1-1.2K diff now. And fist nodes were finding lots of wrong peers - so I think this is starting diff was from
But now diff is normal. But I can be wrong

delete peers.dat

then use these nodes:

Still will get the same situation after 5-10min.
Am I to wait for a fix today or can I go to sleep? It's 01:25am here

Is there a working pool? I'm solo mining with CPU but I think the wallet should be synchronized for solo

I am mining catedoge with cgminer 3.7.3 on hardcoreminers with a r9 290. Stats on hardcoremining gives me <140Mh/s and CGMiner >450MH/s (R=0%).

Also, I have been mining maxcoin, galleon, helix on 1gh and dwarfpool and getting >450Mh/s, with same config.
Where is the problem? Stats, configuration?

Do you have any hw errors? Also do you know if those pools adjusted MPOS stats for keccak?

HW=0 and R=0%.
I dont know if stats are adjusted for keccak, but I know where hardcoreminers say KH/s should be H/s.
