Same issue as before.

The uBlock team only removed the filter rule that was blocking the signatures. They still left the one that blocks every span element with the text "Advert".

It blocked the element because of this post: Advertising shiller spotted!

As suggested before, just disable the uBlock extension on the forum (clicking on the on/off button)...

And someone will probably have to go complain to them again.

So annoying! I saw that too (always on chrome latest with uBlock Origin activated). I was actually thinking of some funny graphic glitch as I have an old laptop but then I remembered to come here and...bingo!
I disabled uBlock on the forum, end of story.

Is there a reason why signatures are no longer displayed in the entire forum?
Since it has already been noticed by several users it should not be a problem for my user.

The checkmark at "Don't show users' signatures." is of course not set in my profile.
Is it an attempt to limit spam?

Well, I can't relate to what you mean actually, but if it's signatures not displaying in some topics , I can say that the only section that I noticed that signatures don't display is in the serious discussion section , but for every other sections, I see signatures still display as clear and as bright as always.

As TryNinja says it would help to read the thread to the end. The problem is solved by now and therefore it is clear that you can't reproduce it anymore.
And regarding the signature in the Serious discussion subboard, here is something for you:

- Serious discussion. No limit on topic, but moderation of on-topicness and general sanity will be extra harsh. No advertising of any kind. Signatures are not displayed.
 - Ivory Tower. As above, but you must be at least a Member in order to post there.

For me with FF 82.0.2 (64-bit) and uBlock in version 1.30.6 it works correctly.
As we now know, it happens very quickly with changed behavior.

I am on 82.0.3 (64-bit) and also 1.30.6 uBLock, and as DdmrDdmr say in his post it obviously lasted a very short time. It seems that the guys from uBlock have been playing a bit lately, but luckily everything is quickly returning to normal.

The wrong/blocked display happens if the following thread is at the top of the meta area: Advertising shiller spotted!

The problem is not that bad, but currently there are only 3 solutions.
1. someone takes care of the correction via reddit like last time.
2. uBlock is deactivated for the page.
3. ignore and accept it.

For those who have the uBlock Origin extension installed on their browsers, it looks like they impulsively decided to block forum signatures yet again. No sure why they keep doing this because not all forum signatures are "adverts". Last time round, after some rope pulling they reverted the decision but after a recent comment from a certain user about ads they added back the filter almost instantly

I went for the easy fix, added bitcointalk.org to the exceptions list and that solves the problem.

Honestly there are no unnecessary advertisements on this forum and turning off the blocker or keeping or on does not make much difference so its all good on my side.

Same for me. Yesterday I didn't notice anything unusual on the forum and today I was puzzled to see any signature content cut away (there was still the thin line that separates post content from the signature content).

I'm on Ubuntu and Firefox 130.0.1 and uBlock Origin 1.59.0. To enable visability of signatures, I disabled "cosmetic filtering" in uBlock Origin for bitcointalk.org.

I was like wtf is going on when I saw that all signatures are gone (not gonna lie, my first thought was that theymos banned them alltogether  ) but forunately it was just a uBlock messing things up for us.

I can't see my signature and those of other users on my desktop PC, but I can see them normally on my phone, and the option to not display signatures isn't active in my profile. I use Chrome and it doesn't have any ad blocker installed.

I've already tested it with another browser and I still have the same problem: I can't see the signatures on my desktop.

Are you sure you're not using the Adblock ad blocker? Judging by what has already been written here, the reason can only be in Adblock. I also had a similar problem, which was solved by an exception bitcointalk.org .

Unfortunately, I don't think he knows that they are just signatures and the fact that anything else can be displayed on the signatures. The dev without thinking twice once again just added a filter blocking the forum signature area

I never experienced this one at all because I use Firefox most of the time and does not have ublock unless I use chrome browser. It's true that it isn't installed in the browser that I mostly used but it is installed in other browsers that I also used although I didn't use it most of the time that's why I'd bookmark this thread for reference just in case this happen to me when I use a browser that has uBlock Origin. I am annoyed by ads that's why I use different browser if I don't want ads to pop  because sometimes I visit the forum using other browsers after watching videos, reading novels, manhwa, manga and lazy enough to use different browser.

I was suddenly surprised when I saw that I couldn't see any signatures.

So, I just copied what other users did, both Ublock Origin and Adblock extensions are installed on my Chrome.

I disabled cosmetic filtering on this site in Ublock Origin and toggled off the bitcointalk.org website in Adblock.

So, that's it, it worked, and the signatures appeared.

After i tested different features of uBlock before without understanding what they are i got experience lots html tags get filtered and disappeared lol that's why i added bitcointalk in the whitelist and didn't experience this now

I can assure you that I don't have any ad blocker extensions on either my chrome or firefox. I don't use adblocks on my browsers, I did not make any changes, everything was normal as usual, it doesn't make sense that I did nothing or installed nothing and suddenly the signatures of all users don't load.

Can we perhaps assume that someone who so badly wants the signatures to disappear from the forum is one of the members of the forum? A few old members have a particular aversion to pay signatures and think that all those who have them are sig spammers - I just wonder how many spam posts they have been reported so far...


I didn't notice any problem with signatures, but maybe that's because I don't use any of the browsers mentioned - I thought that a lot more users value their privacy and use Tor, but apparently that's not true...

When I first saw the new topic, signatures were still working. But now they're gone indeed (but mine is still showing). I'll edit them back, I use signatures as a shitpost indicator
