I do not recommend to trade alts with btc these days otherwise you will be just loosing your money. As BTC hitting its ATH, the prices of alts are dumping even if it is BNB or any other coin whichever was stable in the last months. Just trade BTC/USD only.

According to my little experience, what happens is the following, while Bitcoin is in a bullish trend, all alts fall because no one wants to miss the movement of Bitcoin, for this reason the best option to buy alts is when:

1.- There is confirmation of the bullish trend.
2.- When Bitcoin makes its first trend correction.

It is the best way to buy because it is when investors want to shelter their money and choose the best alts.

Thats true, i was expecting good alt season when btc start rising this year and hit above 18000$ till now but alts are not moving as expecting and dumping now, I am holding some Electroneum and waiting since 2 years that may be BTC will start risinig and this can impact on price on etn and other alts as well, but its going against my thinking,. there are many who thinks like me, but thats the matter of fact when btc start rising alts bleeding.

Yeah that is right, when the dominance of the bitcoin is currently going up; it is the best time to trade bitcoins but if the market starting to do a correction then it is the time to trade altcoins because it's dominance is rising wherein a lot of investors are switching into altcoins. When you do saw the dominance is rising up then its really a bad idea to make up trades with alts but for long term hold or price swing kind of strategy

Everything has risk even though some people say that it is a bad idea on to deal with it on this current time but seeing those in reds and
buying or accumulating as much as you can will really give you some advantage thats if the price did really make out some
recovery when people tend to switch to alts market.

Its not a definitely losing state but rather you do make up a gamble because you cant gain anything if you wont take risk.

Actually altcoins are doing pretty good, not all but some of the alts like XRP has gained some serious bull run and there is TRX which is slowly starting to lift so now as the BTC market stablized the other markets are on a swing now. I hope bitcoin just doesn't fall now like 2017 because a drop here can really make things worst not just for the BTC market but altcoin market as well.

Correct we cannot stop anyone from doing anything they want, but would you not stop someone who is trying to suicide? Well, I will at least stop that and similarly OP has a valid point because BTC market is going up so the best option is to invest in BTC and avoid trading altcoins for the time being.

A good trader can just use the market and make profits so I don't agree with any of the myths like don't trade altcoins when the bitcoin market is going up or just hold the bitcoins because trading and investing are two different skills and one cannot overshadow the other. I have seen people making more than 1k profit just using small bankroll and taking advantage of the leverage trading option because they know the bull run is going to continue.

Not all the altcoins are bad either and there is no particular downfall in the altcoin market, yes they might have not matched the bull run that was there in the bitcoin market but each of these markets are separate and no need to compare two different markets and expect hype in one because of the other. There will be time soon when alts will experience a bull run and we will complain abut bitcoin then.

If the price of currencies goes down a lot there will be other altcoin risks excluding BTC Therefore considering the market you have to buy and hold the currency however if the two trade together there will be risk so BTC is good for both investment and trade. Like what everybody says, we should take every opportunity that we have so that we can reap everything that we can take advantage, like last time I bought XRP at 3100 then I sold it at 4000, then I take my profit, I don't want to lose so much when it dips , and I am not prepared for it, I bought another XRP now and wait for another pump maybe today or before the fork on 12th of December.

Whenever there is a bullish trend of bitcoin, it is advisable to buy bitcoin with alts, not the vice versa and for the trading purpose stable coin is good but why need to trade now when the prices are continuously increasing.

This is depends on a trader on how he can manage to earn profit when trading in the market. Their is instances to trade an alts with btc and somehow you can gain profit. Others trade with continuously increasing to take the chance to go with the trend. Anyone can do this strategies trading with alts as long he is earning but always remember buying at the dip or buy low and sell at a high price.

I think it was just a few days ago I was actually tempted for the first time since 2017 to "diversify" some of my Bitcoin into altcoins. Almost did too, to be honest. What with ETH going for ATHs and Litecoin and others looking really steady. Then we saw Bitcoin fall, and alts, guess what, fell harder.

Not saying I still won't. It might be about time to put say, 1% of my BTC into an alt I already have. You generally will lose though, as OP says.

Institutional investors already got their profit and they are trying to withdraw their amount. After then Btc will be stable and afterwards altcoins pump will start.

Those who are involved with trading knows this when they should trade or not in Btc pair. If you are afraid to trade on Btc pair then you can convert your Btc to USDT then go for trading with USDT pair.

We all aware about that.it maybe possible for those who are brand new in crypto.not possible for them who are with crypto for long.because each traders already have some tokens what have to sell first, if they wants to follow your technic.if everybody start selling their tokens and convert that with btc or usd, then altcoin market will fall badly then excepted.i think this is the time to buy altcoins with cheap cause btc already hit its ath and start falling down.now holding btc is risky but its okey if anyone hold usdt

I'm amazed that this person was able to tell BTC will hit its ATH, however, he wass wrong with one thing. Alts are not dumping, some of them actually pumped and followed the bullish run of BTC such as eth and xrp.

Actually, I take advantage whenever bitcoin dominates the market. Just like now, the alts are seem to be recovering from the loss it took when bitcoin pumped hard. I usually but altcoins when bitcoin wildly move the market. Almost all altcoins are moving down if there is a significant move in bitcoin. If we are fear in losing money in trading, we don't gain the profit that we want to have. Trading is risky yet paid a lot. If the price of altcoins are too then it is an opportunity not a loss.
