I don’t care about grammar at all. The only place where I had to think about how to write correctly was school. Now I also try to write without mistakes, so that people don’t consider me to be illiterate, but what comes to the first letter of Bitcoin, I don’t care about it at all. I always write Bitcoin with the capital letter. But sometimes I am too lazy, so I write it with lowercase letter.

I don't really see any difference between the two options. In my opinion, you are free to write as you see fit.
Yes, I don't think it has a rigid rule on this matter. We ourselves have learned about a way of writing identifiers or objects in a large letter. I'm not a teacher but really it wouldn't be that serious. Everyone is free to write but don't let it falsify the true meaning of bitcoin. Would be good.

When I was in English class, the teacher said that the first letter of a word is capitalized to indicate that this thing is unique. So I always think Bitcoin is correct. All currencies, including fiat currencies such as the euro or the dollar, are common nouns and shouldn't be capitalized unless you start a sentence with them or they appear in a title. There are a few other exceptions such official documents, etc. Here is a good source that explains this in more details for those who care to check it out > https://capitalizemytitle.com/ufaqs/is-dollar-capitalized/The conclusion of that article states: Dollars or dollar as a common noun is always written with a lowercase letter, with the exception of starting a sentence (such as this one) or in a title/heading.
The US Dollar can be referred to as a proper noun (and capitalized) in some official documents.

That will be in a situation of a proper noun when it begins a sentence or in the middle or end of it, I guess. I also pay attention to spellings too.
Well, for me, I tend to spell it as Bitcoin (capital B) any time I use that word out of my respect for the phenomenal discovery, not even for grammar sense.

As I was completing a survey about an hour ago, there was some mention about the distinction between Bitcoin spelt with capital B, and bitcoin with a lowercase b. Although I have heard about this before, and I usually pay a lot of attention to spelling and punctuation, I have to admit that I have totally forgotten about this.
When we talk about Bitcoin as a blockchain, payment method, or a service, we are supposed to spell the word with an uppercase B.
Here is an example: My best friend doesn't see the advantages of Bitcoin.
When we talk about the currency or mention numbers and quantitates of the asset, the word should be spelt with a lowercase b.
Here is an example: I sent my best friend 1 bitcoin as a birthday gift.
Do you pay attention to this while you are posting on the forum?
I never was aware of this. I thought it was one and the same thing. But now as i know the difference, i still might go with what i am used to and that is to use both as the same.

Doesn't seem to be of any difference to me. Small 'b' and capital 'B' doesn't change much if you're talking about the blockchain on which bitcoin is used. If there are different blockchains for both small and capital then that's a different story.

I didn't pay attention to these details, because I feel that both uppercase and lowercase represent Bitcoin. No matter which aspect is mentioned, I think it is the same, so I did not pay too much attention to these.

Before I read this article, I didn't know that these differences still exist. The meaning of the difference between uppercase and lowercase is still very subtle. I learned in this article. I may pay attention to these in future reading, but what I am most concerned about is current wealth.

Actually, these are the general English terms of capitalization. The upper case is used to express a system or concept. Lower case is used to express payment. Better example: last week I heard about Bitcoin and today I'm going to buy a pizza using bitcoins.

I actually do know the difference and still try to use it but let me tell you now that most people do not care and it is okay:)
For example, do you know whether it should be "the internet" or just "internet" or even "Internet"?
Well,,, there is supposed to be a difference but these days nobody cares and understands all of it.
Also, in defi it is all wrapped Bitcoin and pBitcoin and what not all those do not use small letter B:)

Wow, I didn't realize that. I assumed it was the same, and it all depends on how people spell it. That's a very good explanation; I hadn't noticed this before. I was only sending and receiving bitcoin at the time. That's just a small piece of trivia, but it's worth it because I learned something today. Thank you so much for this; I'll forward it to a friend.

But still, some might find it interesting to know the difference. For example, do you know whether it should be "the internet" or just "internet" or even "Internet"? I think it's similar to Bitcoin. The capital letter refers to the technology. I would have to look up what a non-capitalized letter in 'internet' means though. Most people wont care about that either anyways

I actually prefer that both are very distinct words to avoid confusion in the future... For example: BitNet/bitcoin Or Bitcoin Network/bitcoin. Besides, the slight difference could be forgotten in the future by people who don't pay attention to details, or may even be abit difficult for different culture to use.

I did learn about the difference but when I write I no longer really think,,, but I see definitely for example some big media still insist on using only small letter b for Bitcoin even when referring to the network. In the end,,, as I explained, some circumstances always use B. All markets use capital B even though it is actually referring to "coins" not network. See this article, over the years, Internet slowly became internet:) https://www.brookings.edu/blog/techtank/2016/06/01/associated-press-style-change-marks-growth-of-internet-and-web/Same will happen for bitcoin when it becomes mass adopted. Like Dollar became dollar:)

Well, I don't really pay much attention to things like that especially when it is not for an examintion though might make sense to do. I believe most people on this platform might not too as long as we mostly understand what is been said in the post that is made. When you read through most posts you will likely notice typographical errors but the bottom line is that the massage is pass and people can relate to it.

Well, in my opinion, Bitcoin is a noun so it deserves to be capitalized. But when I read your explanation again, I also think about the word "dollar" or "peso". Now the way currencies are being called out are now becoming vaguer and vaguer for me. So I should say that if we are talking about Bitcoin as a subject or as a feature then it deserves to be capitalized. If we are talking about numbers, or quantity, then it's ok not to capitalize.

I think the difference between Bitcoin and bitcoin is that if Bitcoin is more of a bitcoin symbol, my habit of seeing the letter B in my mind is immediately Bitcoin like I see the dollar symbol $. if bitcoin is more about the meaning of bitcoin or the use of bitcoin, what do you think, please add it if you want..
