Men are more prone to taking risks and women are more prone to try the tried and tested ways to do things... I'm not really sure why - even in a world where a lot of people are raised a bit more equally.

Hard wired biology. Once a male has emptied his nads it doesn't really matter if he dies, but obviously he has some use afterwards punching mammoths and shit. Women had a brood to keep alive so naturally you're going to take safer options and leave the whacked out stuff to someone more disposable.

3-4 generations does not wipe that difference out even if it's expressed in vastly more subtle terms these days.

The figures for men vs women in much more conventional areas of investment reflect that too. I can't think of many women with active porfolios compared to men.

I need more people, not just only more women. the coin was made for all, not just for males, and it's there for anyone who wants to take it. So, it's in their hands to join this party, it's their decision, and push them to do it will make them feel it's a tricky business.

They need to understand by itself how it works and the benefits of using Bitcoin, but without interest in it then will not happen.

If the women get to know about the earning possibilities surely they'll get interested. In particular the home makers will show more interest, because after their scheduled work they get more time to spend. Women get interested by the words of encouragement, so if her husband/boy friend makes and encouraging statement that you can do it we can see more women into cryptospace.

Here we come again in this gender issue.

What is it specifically that hinders women from getting into investment opportunities? I know this is a rather deep discussion which could be traced back to our old patriarchal traditions and cultures, the remnants of which still persist until today. But I am asking in the context of the western world where women can study anything, work, choose to have a family or not, choose where to live, travel, and so on. Is the playing field remains unfair?

There are indeed societies until now which treat women as some sort of second class unreasonable citizens who cannot seem to think clearly and decide on their own, but the mainstream society is probably convinced and share the same view that this prevailing norm is but an archaic one which should change.

The world of investing has long been accused of being a male-dominated “old-boys club”. Women in this environment frequently complain that they are frozen out, treated badly or have to work harder than men to make good.
Source on this? This is so wrong in so many levels I don't even know where to start tbh. It's not a matter of about Bitcoin more tbh, Bitcoin doesn't even need gender to use it. Who the bloody hell cares if men or women use it, there's no issue with whoever does. There's absolutely no need to force or encourage women to trade when they don't want to, just like how we aren't forced to trade by other because they wanted to, we trade because we want to.

Not really? Just that the inherent characteristics of most women (I'm assuming here okay? this is not for a fact) don't or wouldn't want to tackle jobs or work like trading. It's a matter of "wanting" and not really a matter of want or don't want.

I wonder how long that will take or if it ever will change... It's probably been 20000 years at least since external threats have been a danger and a burden for only one gender (I think modern agriculture is around that time and, if not, that's what I'd put as the benchmark for when we no longer needed gender specific roles for survival).
But there is also a chance it might never be completely fixable for a long time in that case or at all...

I was looking at the top 100 companies in the UK and 5 have a female ceo and I don't think that's an irrelevant statistic either there is likely a gap im missing as well as the patriarchy (which for older companies is likely a problem).

Is the playing field remains unfair?

Nope. How could investing money be in any way unfair? No one's going to turn you away. Alongside biology it's also cultural programming. Just as black folks don't hang out in the country or working class people don't take up tennis. It's just something they don't 'do' despite it being wide open to them.

Let me rephrase it, Bitcoin needs more willing and dedicated adopters. In my opinion, it is better to have an all male crypto sphere than to have girl which are not dedicated and will hate btc in the long run (vice versa).

Cryptocurrency doesn't pick any gender in the first place Smiley. You know that, right? Whether you are male, female, LGBTQ+ it doesn't matter. The main requirement for you to engage with bitcoin is you must know to handle your assets. That's it! If you are fit then you're good to go.

Bitcoin is anonymous, right ?? So why the difference between female and male gender? I don't think Bitcoin needs a specific female. Relatively it requires manpower to spread it further. Females have appeared to this generation and are no longer squatting at home. They are coming forward for almost everything. So in that prosecution, it is normal to keep up in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a marketplace where several categories of transactions take place. So whatever these activities are, it doesn't make a difference if it's male or female.

As a woman, I feel that the world of technology is dominated by men, probably because most women are more interested in fashion
than technology. But now this has changed, since social media has become a trend. Many women are interested in studying technology,
including blockchain technology. But I don't agree Bitcoin needs a lot of women, because Bitcoin is not affected by gender differences.
What it takes for many people who invest in Bitcoin, does not matter, women or men. Even if transgender want to buy Bitcoin it can help
the development of Bitcoin.

2017. Male or female? (1)
There is little argument about the gender demographics of BTC users: the vast majority of them are male. But as the popularity of Bitcoin grows, the demographics change. Even though men still prevail, the number of women involved is also increasing.

2019, the article from medium has some results from a survey in the USA but it does not have result for gender of crypto investors.

So is it our fault that women doesn't become so eager in Bitcoin or crypto just like us?
For me it isn't about the gender it is all up to them we all made our decision and it's just that more men are interested in crypto than women.
It is not really our fault but the fault mostly lies on the formative years of a child, depending on what they are introduced to, then that introduction will grow to be an interest. In our generation, some parents still believe in the old way that men are not equal to women. Hopefully the next generation will be a lot more different, in a way that they let the child choose their affinity.

Not really? Just that the inherent characteristics of most women (I'm assuming here okay? this is not for a fact) don't or wouldn't want to tackle jobs or work like trading. It's a matter of "wanting" and not really a matter of want or don't want.

I'd rather not use the word inherent here. If indeed most of them don't want to take up trading jobs, that wouldn't be because they are biologically women. As I've said, the remnants of our patriarchal past are still active to a certain degree in our day to day lives today. All I'm saying is that their possible distaste to it is definitely acquired.

I agree. But that's already in the process of being shattered. That's a lot easier to overcome, easier than Saudi Arabia legally granting their women the freedom to drive cars. And they got it.

I agree with most replies. That statement is wrong. Yes, there are fewer women interested in bitcoin nowadays, fewer bitcoin hodlers. So what? Women's interest in bitcoin will grow at the same time as general population interest in bitcoin will grow. Don't need to worry about that. And no, more women are not needed for bitcoin to become more successful.

In fact, Over the last few years more and more women are stepping into the crypto space and they have shown their uniqueness, creativity and leadership in crypto through their outstanding contributions to the crypto industry.
because cryptocurrency, specifically Bitcoin is a promising investment and women can earn more income through trading, investing and virtual spending with Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Doesn't need women my friend. actually Bitcoin needs no one. Bitcoin is the king of CryptoCurrencies. if it was dependent on men or women, it wouldn't be the best Cryptocurrency.
what women need is the courage to start a thing and continue it.

I only know bitcoin as an investment and can be exchanged so fiat money is not intended for women and men, bitcoin is the same as fiat, anyone can hold it, not necessarily male or female.

To be honest not only women, but in fact it would be better if both men and womeb will used bitcoin to promote digital currency and it may help the bitcoin community to introduced so that many people will be able to know and earn knowledge about what bitcoin is. If men and women will be united to promote bitcoin then it would be more famous to other people, and many of them will be curious about it and try this so called bitcoin is.

More men or women. I don't see any relevance to it.

Bitcoin is for everyone so it doesn't actually need more women because it is open for both males and females. I don't see any argument about it. These gender arguments are vague to me.

It is that men are more into technology than women but it doesn't mean that there are no women that are into bitcoin.

It is that men are more into technology than women but it doesn't mean that there are no women that are into bitcoin.
Bitcoin is an innovation created for the benefit of common men and women. So there is no need of an argument that more women need to get into bitcoin. To the men using bitcoin, the women using the same is very low. In all fields women have their contribution, in that way expecting more women into bitcoin usage is healthy for the bitcoin community.
